Wine 2.0-rc5
Reproduction:
1. Install Linux Dota 2 using Steam for Linux
2. Install Steam for Windows using Wine on a clean 64 bit wineprefix
3. cp --reflink=all steamapps from Steam for Linux to Steam for Windows
4. Launch Steam for Windows, login and let it update Dota 2
5. Make sure that the DLC Dota 2 Workshop Tools are checked
6. cd to Steam for Windows steamapps/common/dota 2 beta/bin/win64
7. env WINEPREFIX='/home/feanor/steam-wine' wine ./dota2cfg.exe -steam -dx11
Expected result:
Dota 2 workshop tools launch and I can create a mod
What actually happens:
Nothing is happening on the screen, while the dota2cfg.exe eats up 1 CPU core
Output log is attached below
I will retry with 2.0-rc6 when pacman already have it
Note: Step 3 is probably not necessary, you can directly install Dota 2 on
Steam for Windows and follow step 5 onwards, but I don't have enough hard disk
space for that

I tried many times but Steam doesn't load any page or install any game.
I'm trying to run with "WINEDEBUG=-all wine Steam.exe -no-cef-sandbox
-no-dwrite -tcp" (AFAIK cef and dwrite are already fixed and I could remove
them) I tried the combinations with/without each argument
To force Steam to install a specific game even without internet connection to
find it using Steam application, I ran "WINEDEBUG=-all wine Steam.exe
-no-cef-sandbox -no-dwrite -tcp steam://run/372000" and then the Steam
applications says it can't install without internet connection.
One strange thing is that I installed it and after the installation, the
application updates itself without problem
Also, I have libnss-mdns:i386 library installed and updated as I have mdns in
my hosts entry of /etc/nsswitch.conf file.
I tried with Windows 7 and XP (using winecfg, setting globally and specific to
the application as well)
$wine --version
wine-2.1
Installed the latest version through:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:wine/wine-builds
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install --install-recommends winehq-devel
I searched for help on internet and on
https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=19444 , but I
didn't find a similar problem or a workaround
Anyone have a hint how I can get it working? Or how I can get the back trace to
help to investigate this problem?
Thank you all for the help
Kind regards,
Luan

I am having issues mallocing more than 32GB of memory running RAM intensive

RAM. When I run the c++ code
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/34516616/wine-cant-use-more-than-32gb-of…

If I run the .exe that does the same thing I can only allocate up to 32GB. I
tried Wine 1.6, 1.7 and 1.9. I am using the 64 bit version as well.
I talked in the IRC chat #winehq and they told me to run the code with
WINEDEBUG=+heap,+virtual,+tid flags.
He pointed out this line might be useful to look at in my logs:
0024:warn:heap:allocate_large_block Could not allocate block for 800000000

and told me to submit a bug report. The log is attached.

Handy test app
I was investigating this gallium nine bug:
https://github.com/iXit/Mesa-3D/issues/253
And strangely with that game (School Mate), both wine ogl and gallium nine do
render a blue wall (for traces taken on windows or taken with gallium nine,
because on wine the game hits a fallback path since swvp is not supported).
Windows doesn't have that blue wall.
My investigation shows that both wine ogl and gallium nine have an issue with
specular. The problem is best shown when the material power is 0 (like in the
game).
I include the following test app (which I couldn't find the original link)
which enables to test the behaviour:
For example you can test with:
. Take the sphere
. Set SPECULARENABLE to TRUE
. Set 0 for the diffuse material colors and increase the specular material
colors
. Set the material power to 0 (or any low value)
. play with the direction of the light. Compare on windows and observe output
is different.
. Play with LOCALVIEWER. On wine the outputs changes a bit, whereas on windows
it doesn't.

It is a tooltip control, created for a toolbar with TBSTYLE_TOOLTIPS style.
The tooltip properly is sending TTN_NEEDTEXT notification, but when trying to
determine which tool needs tooltip by sending TTM_GETCURRENTTOOL to the tooltip
control it always returns FALSE.
In any other way, the tooltip works fine. For example if I return arbitrary
text in the TOOLTIPTEXTW.lpszText field, this text is displayed properly.
In Windows, TTM_GETCURRENTTOOL returns TRUE and filled up TOOLINFO structure
about the toolbar that activated the tooltip control.
Here is a link to the procedure that creates the toolbar:

Here, the source that handles TTN_NEEDTEXT notification:

The bug is not version specific, because I tried with different stable and
development versions and it appears always.

Although this has been improved, deleting comments is still a long, painful,
laborious task.
Adobe Photoshop CS4, just as one example, has a load of comments. The majority
of these are pointless and should be removed. The problem being it would take
at least an hour to do so.
The current method is:
1. Select a thread to delete.
2. Enter (or paste) a reason.
3. Press delete.
4. Wait for the page (and all the comments) to load again.
5. Go to Step 1.
If any comments are worth keeping, you have to be careful not to delete them.
In apps like photoshop, this can create a LOT of emails too (I've just remove a
load of comments from CS3 and received over a hundred emails).
A nice method might be:
1. Select "Edit Comments".
2. Tick the stale comments to remove.
3. Enter a generic reason.
4. Hit delete.
5. Job's a good un.
Maybe this could then be reduced to one email per person too?

leads to a page that shows the submitter's text with the title
"Selected Test Results (selected in 'Test Results' table below)"
However, the OS/version/rating 'test results' line corresponding to the
submission is missing. Instead the topmost line displays an old (known) entry.
This is really confusing and irritating.
Furthermore, the page displayed does not show a "process" or "reply" buttons. I
need to go to my queue and identify this entry among all the elements of the
queue in order to process it.
I believe both things worked well in the past -- 2-3 years ago?

*I installed WoT by PoL.* (The installation script is in this link:
https://www.playonlinux.com/en/app-1592-World_Of_Tanks.html)
Hello, i'm getting a bug after i login, in the garage. as in the screenshot, it
keeps flashing and the upper menu of everything dont show(when i get to the
options menu it dont show the tabs too), also after the login some rewards or
adverts dont show(i know they are there because i cant rotate the vehicles, so
i press esc a few times and after it i can). the only modification i did was to
change
"/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/WorldOfTanks/drive_c/Games/World_of_Tanks/res/cef/cef_browser_process.exe"
to "cef_browser_processREMOVED.exe" because i couldnt enter the garage (crash
after login).
I also tried to do some bug fixes that i found here but nothing changed.

I found the AppDB is a bit unusable, when it comes to quick check on "Which
games will run in my system", or "Will this game run for me".
The most important thing, when it come to games - is the Video Driver. For
example, there are many games, that run for NVidia owners, but don't run for
ATI, and so on.
Another point, when it comes to specific driver name and version. For example,
open-source "radeon" supports only OpenGL 1.3, and Catalyst supports higher
implementations. Moreover, different versions of the same, let say Catalyst,
may work differently for this or that program. There are also regressions, etc.
Again: Video Drivers in Linux, are not ideal. I would say, this point have even
higher affect than the Distribution.
What I would like to see, near the "Distribution" column -- is another one:
"Video" or something like this, where it will say e.g. "Catalyst 8.9". This way
it will be possible to link Rating with certain Video Setup, before taking the
decision.
Some tools for searching Games, that work with specific video driver(s) would
also be _HIGHLY_ appreciated.

Under wine v1.9.9 while using COCO v3.1.0.1(from http://cocosimulator.org/) I
encountered a problem with the painting of window elements during a simulation.
Normally this would cause parts of the flowsheets to light up in a different
color while each part is being solved but now this is no longer the case. The
problem is not related to any particular flowsheet being solved, you can take
any example from the samples they have online at
http://cocosimulator.org/index_sample.html
Note this bug occurs after the most recent bug update from COCO, titled
"prevent problems due to re-entrancy in painting methods caused by STA threads
in 3rd party modules", see http://cocosimulator.org/index_changes.html. I
contacted author jasper van baten <jasper(a)amsterchem.com>. He commented that
"COM is flawed in the matter of thread safety in case there is somewhere any
STA compartment which means that WM_PAINT messages can come in concurrently. If
this is detected, paint is aborted and a private message is posted (which is
received non-concurrently in the main windowing thread) and the window update
proceeds from there. I am guessing wine has a bug that makes this message does
not arrive." Jasper recommended me to go back to using the stable version 1.8
for there the problem does not occur according to him. I fear that going back
would just postpone the issue for me and hence I wanted to report it as a bug.

The AppDB test report form currently does not have a specific field to list
changes made to default winecfg settings. Reporters can, of course, use the
extra comments section for this, but many forget or don't bother, and even when
they do, the information may be buried amongst a number of comments. This
causes confusion amongst users (esp. new ones) who expect an app to work well
based on a gold rating, but may not realize that it requires some tweaking.
Adding a separate field would remind reporters to include this information, and
highlight it for readers. This field could also be used to automatically
restrict platinum ratings to the stated definition of "no changes required in
winecfg."

It happens as soon as I move the mouse. Also double clicking to load a game

Based on comments the maker of the builds also experienced the crash.

Currently, Wine HQ debian repo provides named repositories for: wheezy, jessie,
stretch, sid. See https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/debian/dists/
Please add one for "testing", so users of Debian testing wouldn't need to refer
to specific named releases.
Wine staging Debian repo used to do that, but now it's being deprecated.

Please provide wine stable packages named other than winehq-devel it will make
more easy to keep wine in stable release, would be possible to use only wine
stable instead of distro own old version.
Mageia have packaging policy only bugfix releases are allowed throught updates
and can't backport it needs more power than Mageia have right now.
Note this should done to all winehq repos not only Mageia.

The Fedora, Mageia, and Mac OS X repositories contain all packages that have
been built by WineHQ so far, and in the case of Fedora and Mageia, even have
packages for 1.8.1 (though they are inexplicably labeled "development"). The
Ubuntu and Debian repositories, however, only contain the latest development
and staging releases.
Why this matters: users who encounter a regression when they upgrade Wine need
to be able to revert to the old version until the problem is fixed. Keeping old
packages available makes this very easy, and since using the development or
staging release then becomes relatively risk-free, more users are likely to be
willing to test those versions. More users testing every release benefits the
project as a whole.
As for the stable release, while it's true our Downloads page only promises
development and staging packages, since we are apparently providing stable
packages for some distros, they should be provided for all.

Summary: start.exe incorrectly treats multiple quoted arguments

Created attachment 57401
--> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=57401
Diff containing the necessary fix for correct multiple quote handling.
Follow up to bug 42508:
On Windows the following two command-lines open a URL in the browser:
C:\>start "" https://winehq.org
C:\>start "" "https://winehq.org"
In other words, the second quoted argument in the second command-line does not
override the console title to be "http://winehq.org".
Now consider the following two wine commands:
$ wine start '""' 'https://winehq.org'
$ wine start '""' '"https://winehq.org"'
The first line opens the website in a browser, as expected. The second line
however opens a console window running cmd. (the title is not actually set, but
that's another issue.)
In start.exe's parsing loop the if statement for detecting the console title
does not stop checking for the title when a title has already been parsed
successfully. Causing 'https://winehq.org' to be interpreted as the console
title, and executing cmd.exe since no executable remains on the command-line.
I have provided a diff containing the very simple fix necessary to correctly
handle this case. As most of start.exe is still hardtabbed I've left the tabs
for now.
League of Legends relies on the correct behaviour of this second quoted
argument to open URLs in the browser; see bug 42508.

Trying to open OpenMPT's help file (https://openmpt.org/download) does not work
as intended. When opening the file directly, it is shown without a TOC. In the
help file, a window configuration with the name "OpenMPT" is stored, which
should tell the viewer to show a TOC. When calling the help file directly from
within the program through the HtmlHelp API, this works as intended, but not
when viewing the file by double-clicking it. The help project specifies
"Default Window=OpenMPT", so the viewer should load this window configuration.
On Windows, this is the case, but not on Wine.

Skylanders is a game that uses character toys w/ RFID chips to determine your
player i nthe game, and store character stats. The original game came w/ a PC
version, which this is. Installation and SecureROM DRM all work, to the point
of needing the reader. The reader presents as a USB HID device. There exists a
downloadable character editor that has been reverse engineered from the
web-flash game portal driver. The editor fails under wine with:
unimplemented function hid.dll.HidD_SetOutputReport
I'm a long time wine user, but haven't developed with it. If some one can give
me some assistance, I can walk though providing appropriate debug and backtrace
reports. Note that the game proper does not fail as above.

When I attempt to run the game Wuppo in Windows 7 mode, it crashes with a fatal
error dialogue box that says "Out of Memory".
I've tried running the game in a WoW64 prefix and a new 32-bit prefix in Wine
2.1-153-g9c72376c8c and in both cases the end result was the same: the game
crashed while attempting to start.
The only override I used was d3dcompiler_43 to get around the HLSL parsing
errors. Setting "glsl=disabled" in winetricks did not help.

I may be wrong (I'm not good at HTML and Javascript) but I think the reason is

invalid Wine Version number (1.1.45). The form accepted my submission, and I
was later emailed that my results had been added (perhaps because I was the
submitter, perhaps because I am the maintainer of the version). Now
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=8261&iTestingI…
displays my new results in the "Selected Test Results" box, but on no page are
the details of the results visible in the "Test Results" box.
I expect two fixes are required here. First, more input validation on the
submission page. Second, whatever is preventing this entry from showing up
under Test Results.

Despite bug 13302, GetProcessMemoryInfo() is still effectively unimplemented,
in that it returns zero in all fields instead of actual data. The missing code
is in the underlying ntdll call, NtQueryInformationProcess(ProcessVmCounters):
(see http://source.winehq.org/source/dlls/ntdll/process.c#L231)
case ProcessVmCounters:
{
VM_COUNTERS pvmi;
[...]
/* FIXME : real data */
memset(&pvmi, 0 , sizeof(VM_COUNTERS));
Test program (compile with -lpsapi):
#include <assert.h>
#include <windows.h>
#include <psapi.h>
int main(int argc, char **argv) {
PROCESS_MEMORY_COUNTERS pmc;
assert(GetProcessMemoryInfo(GetCurrentProcess(), &pmc, sizeof(pmc)));

Renaming a registry key can cause it to be unsorted. If I remember correctly on
Windows XP if I have pressed F5 to refresh the view Windows regedit has
automatically sorted the keys. This behavior is missing on Wines regedit.

For example, RFC6265 section 5.2.4 states:
> If the attribute-name case-insensitively matches the string "Path",
> the user agent MUST process the cookie-av as follows.
But set_cookies() uses string "path" and performs case-sensitive comparison.
Same stuff with section 5.2.3 and string "domain".
This issue breaks cookie exchange with certain HTTP servers.
Probably there are other similar issues in Wine since HTTP string processing
should be case-insensitive in most cases. And most server implementations use
Camel-Case strings.
This issue also affects Wine versions prior to 2.0.

It's not just WOW 7.1. I have seen this multiple times in different programs

Since the time schedule to implemtn these things is unknown I would suggest
silencing them for now. It would make the default wine logs more readable too.
These lines are constantly spammed while running WOW. Those lines are spammed

When running firefox under Wine, the extra mouse buttons on my mouse (the

When using firefox under Windows or under Linux, the buttons act as a forward -
back button, but not when it's running under Wine.
I am sure this is not an modmap issue, as the buttons do work with some other
applications in Wine (SWAT4 for instance). The buttons do not seem to generate
any event to the application.

This bug is reproduced in the same way as bug 31076, but I don't think they're
the same bug. After scanning a folder, click the upper-left box and hold down
the down arrow until you've cycled through all the boxes. Then click a box in
the middle. You'll see an error dialog that says:
Debug Assertion Failed!
Program: C:\windirstat_debug_32.exe
File: TreeListControl.cpp
Line: 1771
For information on how your program can cause an assertion
failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts.
(Press Retry to debug the application)
If you click Abort, the program closes. If you click Retry, the program
crashes. If you click Ignore, the program continues until you click another
box.
Line 1771 of TreeListControl.cpp says:
VERIFY( CListCtrl::RedrawItems( i, item_count ) );
CListCtrl::RedrawItems sends LVM_REDRAWITEMS with i and item_count. Apparently,
even though the documentation says that the first parameter is the index of the
first item to redraw and the second parameter is the index of the last item to
redraw, LVM_REDRAWITEMS does not complain about getting indices outside of the
range of defined items.
I'm using the 32-bit debug build of altWinDirStat 0.9.5.

i have been trying to install reaktor 6 under wine on my machine so that i can
use it with reaper. i believe that the crashlog of reaktor (also attached)
points to concrt140.dll being missing, thus i am trying to obtain the virtual c
package (2015) which will give me the library - though this is also broken on
my system.
since i used winetricks to obtain the libraries, i reported the vc bug to them.
they have instructed me to report this bug.
note 1: my hardware is 64-bit but i am using a 32-bit version of wine so that i
can use various old and free VSTis.
note 2: i do recognise that the vc2015 package did not install well in a test
which was conducted a year ago and submitted to the wine database.

Hi,
in the real windows, when one presses right button over treeview 'widget', the
item under cursor gets temporarily selected - this enables simple context menu
showing (unless it's done this way, one has to manually determine, which item
is placed on the cursor position - which, i guess, not all apps are doing) :
it should probably go like this: right click => appropriate treeview item
selected => NM_RCLICK notification message to window => windows can use
TreeView_GetSelection() :-)
after the right button is released, the previously selected item gets selected
again on win32 - as far as I can tell :-)

misplaced.

Installation frozen
Hello,
Silhouette Studio is a CAD program, freely available from
https://www.silhouetteamerica.com/software#update
for use with their Silhouette line of computerized cutters.
I installed the last version 3.8.150 with wine version 1.6 under xubuntu 16.04
(fresh installation). There was a bug during the installation (installer window
frozen). I found out the application was not installed.
Thanks.

When CSMT is enabled, the screen in Portal flickers. This probably also applies
to all other Source engine games, and I think I've seen it in a few non-Source
games.

Summary: Winefile: Currently selected folder 'open folder' icon
switches to 'closed folder' icon when file pane
selected.
Product: Wine
Version: 1.3.14
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: flymypg(a)gmail.com
While browsing the file system using winefile, when a folder is selected in the
left pane, the folder icon switches from the 'closed folder' icon to the 'open
folder icon', and the files contained in the selected directory are displayed
in the right pane.
Incorrect behavior #1: When an item (file or directory) is selected in the
right pane by single-clicking on it, the 'open folder' icon in the left pane
switches to 'closed folder' icon.
Correct behavior: The icon for the current folder in the left pane should not
be affected by single-click selections made in the right pane.
Incorrect behavior #2: When a folder is double-clicked in the right pane, the
content of the selected folder is shown in the right pane, but the icon for the
folder is not changed to the 'open folder' icon in the left pane.
Correct behavior: The icon for the current folder in the left pane should
change when a folder is double-clicked in the right pane.
The window title continues to correctly display the correct current folder.
Only the open status icon in the left pane is lost.
Note: I am using wine from a headless 32-bit x86 Fedora 14 system, remotely

ProtectionID + Crash log
In this version the installer and exe of the game freezes. This does not seem
to affect the demo and possibly not subsequent versions. It appears that there
is a CD protection that may be causing the issue. Unfortunately, I am unable to
determine the type of protection with ProtectionID.
The same protection was apparently used by Book Worm Deluxe per VirusTotal:

source code to probe supported bitmap size
The current WINE bitmap implementation has a size limit of 128MiB dating back
to 2008 with a comment about Windows XP:
https://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/blob/39935fe5ad889d537d828cc82771bdb…
197 /* XP doesn't allow creating bitmaps larger than 128 MB */
198 if (bm.bmHeight > 128 * 1024 * 1024 / bm.bmWidthBytes)
199 {
200 SetLastError( ERROR_NOT_ENOUGH_MEMORY );
201 return 0;
202 }
However, recent versions of Windows seem to have a higher limit, of 2GiB.
Attached source code tries to create bitmaps with increasing sizes (each just
under 2^N bytes) and prints successes and eventual failure.
The bitmap test code seems to have a test for individual maximum dimension
(width), but not for maximum total bitmap size:
https://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/blob/39935fe5ad889d537d828cc82771bdb…
Thanks for testing to users at
http://www.fractalforums.com/windows-fractal-software/windows-bitmap-size-t…
- I'll attach their results after submitting.

Hi, forks
I tested a LAN chat app called FeiQ, it can't run normally under wine.
Just do as follow:
1. Download FeiQ.exe from http://www.feiq18.com/forum.php or the attachment
I've uploaded here.
sha1sum:
2. It has only one .exe file, so you can save it to anywhere. Then run it: $
wine FeiQ.exe
3. When FeiQ runs for the first time, you'll see a window displayed normally.
You can just click on the default focused button or wait a minute until it
disappears.
4. Then you can see a small window with black client area. After clicking on
the close button, another one comes out. Click on the close button again, the
main window of FeiQ displays. It also has a black client area.
Under Ubuntu 12.04 & wine-1.5.27.

Starting TeamViewer 11 takes few minutes instead of few seconds how it usually
takes in Windows.
Starting app creates "Teamviewer.exe" and "TeamViewer_Service.exe" processes
immediately but needs few minutes to show it's window with "tv_w32.exe" and
"tv_x64.exe".
Starting app does not use any extra PC resources just takes long time.
Tested on Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon.

Original docx file
This has originally been posted in the forum, see here:
https://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=28673
I am running MSOffice 2007 on Wine 2.4 on Arch. It is running very well and I
am using it to prepare PDF files from various office files in the background.
The PDF files look very good and are searchable. However, they contain text,
which is malformed. This depends on the font encoding, I suppose.
As a test setup I copied my Fonts directory from my windows machine to the
respectuive wine prefeix/drive_c/windows/Fonts and also installed them in the
truetype fonts directory on the linux machine (/usr/share/fonts/TTF + fc-cache
and fc-cache-32). So the PDF printing picks up all necessary fonts.
Printing is done via cups-pdf. Currently at 3.0.1, but I have tried several
versions starting from 2.6 inclduding and not indcluding several patches found
on the internet:
https://github.com/alexivkin/CUPS-PDF-to-PDFhttp://www.linuxquestions.org/questions ... 175440557/
https://launchpadlibrarian.net/15378121 ... port.patch
It seems that the cups-pdf driver is not the culprit here, as the result is
always the same.
My test.docx is attached and contains two lines ('test') the first one in
Calibri, the second one in Arial. When I print this docx with wine 2.4, Word
2007 and cups-pdf, a pdf file is created, which looks fine (s. attached), but
when I copy and paste the text, I get:
'[garbled text]
test'
So apparently, the Calibri-font part is somehow problematic.
pdffonts test_wine.pdf
OQHKQC+ArialMT Type 1C WinAnsi yes yes no 10 0
YIGKZZ+Calibri Type 1C Custom yes yes no 8 0
I know I can directly save the docx as a pdf in word and I can also automate
this via a makro, but I also would like to print from Outlook, which is not as
easy to automate as Word via makros, but easily prints via tjhe /p command line
switch.
When I directly save the docx as pdf, I get:
'Test
test'
pdffonts test_wine_savepdf.pdf
ABCDEE+Calibri TrueType WinAnsi yes yes no 5 0
Arial TrueType WinAnsi no no no 7 0
The difference is that the Calibri font is encoded WinAnsi and not custom.
I checked whether the cups-pdf driver might be the culprit by opening and
printing the test.docx file with a native copy of libreoffice and I get:
'Test
test'
pdffonts test_lo.pdf
BAAAAA+Calibri TrueType WinAnsi yes yes yes 14 0
CAAAAA+ArialMT TrueType WinAnsi yes yes yes 9 0
So, basically, both the cups-pdf driver and wine/word are able to encode
WinAnsi, but printing via Word apparently forces the cups-pdf driver to include
custom-encoded font-subsets. I somewhere read that ghostscript cannot do
anything related to reencoding fonts, so I assume that there is something wrong
before cups-pdf starts.
Further observations:
If I use the 'print to file' option in Word (wine) and Word (Windows machine)
to produce a PS file, further processing with ghostscript produces a PDF with
garbled copied text and Type 1C, Custom encoding Calibri, whilst the same
command produces a PDF with copiable text and TrueType, WinAnsi encoding
Calibri.

Im using a software called AIRC, it is a portuguese townhall management
software.
With wine version 1.4 i could create A4 pdf files directly from the software,
but now with wine 1.6 or wine 1.7 the pdf are always size usa letter.
It is not a cups-pdf problem because printing directly to the printer it prints
only as usa letter and a little part of the data.
How can i troubleshoot the bug ? Thanks

The maintainer guidelines indicate that "Keywords are used by the search
engine" but this does not seem to be true. The application "Pony Art CD"
(https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=31453) has the
keyword "horses" set but the term does not appear (singular or plural) in its
description, version description, or test results. It is not listed when
searched for with the WineHQ search box, Google directly, or the AppDB search
(https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&bIsQueue=fals…).
Either this needs to be fixed or the field removed and maintainer guidelines
updated accordingly.

When you add a bug link to an AppDB entry, you get a message
"The Bug Link you submitted will be added to the database after being

while it gets automatically added anyway.
Either the bug link shouldn't be added automatically, but only upon an "OK"

Linking a bug to an application works fine as long as the user or mantainer
links only one affected version, but when he or she adds more than one, they
are spread and randomly arranged in the "Show apps affected by this bug", which
doesn't give a clear image at first glance so the user/mantainer have to search
and reread to get a clear image of the status.
So my proposal is, when multiple versions of the same app are added, display
only one time the app, and every version in the versions column. Example:
app name | desc | versions
msn | program to chat | 1.0
| with friends | 4.0
| | 7.0
| | 8.0
| | live
| | live 2.0
If isn't too dificult or time consuming, can it be fixed that way?

Hi, mouse movement in FEAR has terrible stuttering, even though moving/rotating
with the keyboard is smooth, and the framerate is otherwise great.
My mouse is a Razer Abyssus, set to 1000 hz polling at 3500 DPI.
It seems that Windows 8.1 has a very similar problem:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/327740/discussions/0/613938693183053517/#c62…https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2908279
Of course, other games (including Wine games) are smooth.
I don't think this is a duplicate of the (old & vague) bug #31661

COD:MW2 launches fine from Steam (once you work around bug 22053).
Starting single-player campaign works fine, too,
but there is some annoying flickering, usually covering only the middle quarter
of the screen, but occasionally affecting the sky as well.
It's as if buildings are flickering in and out.

Bug #: 32233
Summary: Battlefield Bad Company 2 weapons/items hold by player
distorted/invisible
Product: Wine
Version: 1.5.17
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org

Classification: Unclassified
No matter i'm reporting this bug as for WINE 1.5.17 it actually it affects
previous version also since BFBC2 can be played in WINE.
This issue is playing in MULTIPLAYER in non-punkbuster servers.
I don't play the single player of this game.
Also, this bug happens no matter the settings , only varies in severity
according to settings
This report will have 3 points (1st 2 in this post, 3rd point in next posts):
1. My WINE settings for this game.
2. Description of bug.
3. Screenshots
1.My WINE settings for this game.
These settings are needed to avoid several textures problems related with
explosions, shooting, smoke, fires and even completely random textures
problems.
With these settings all that is solved...remaining only the issues that
are the reason for this report:
MultiSampling Disabled
StrictDrawOrdering ENABLED (MANDATORY to avoid issues above)
UseGLSL Disabled
MouseWarpOverRide Disabled (not relevant for bug)
d3dx10 DISABLED (avoids 1st launch lock up)
Virtual Desktop 1024x768 (not relevant for bug)
GrabFullScreen y (not relevant for bug)
2. Description of bug.
Textures of Weapons/Items hold by player can be , or NOT, distorted.
This distortion reaches sometimes level so high that makes weapon or item
completely useless and impossible to play with it.
These distortions don't affect all weapons/items when we (re)spawn but only
a part of them.
Just because a weapon/item is not distorted when we (re)spawn once,
doesn't mean that next time we (re)spawn is not distorted and vice-versa.
Changing class before respawn and going back to previous class in next respawn
can solve the problem...OR NOT...OR MAKE IT EVEN WORSE.
Sometimes distortion only happens in normal standing and not in ADS.
Sometimes distortion only happens in ADS and not in normal standing.
Sometimes distortion only shows when running/moving.
Very rare but sometimes distortion only happens when standing still.
MAJORITY of times it will happen in all those circumstances.
Sometimes is not distorted....it's INVISIBLE !!!
Sometimes is...distorted AND invisible !!!

Hi,
I am the lucky owner of a 4K display (3840x2160 resolution)
when using on a large screen, there is an invisible line below which
- display looks not refreshed (you have to move the window with the mouse)
- no interaction take place (ie you cannot select text, key combinations do not
work)
this line appears to be below 1440.
FYI it is used in combination with a 2650x1440 display (I don't think it has
any impact)

Aside form bug #40418, the call to bcrypt.dll.BCryptDuplicateHash seems to
crash the game.
I'm attaching a log from Wine 1.9.24 running with WINEDEBUG="+bcrypt" and a
crash report from the game itself.

Many thanks for correction of [Bug 32919] Yarmap causes Unhandled exception:
page fault on read access in 32 bit code.
If I try to type anything (Street or organization name) I see only a top of
letters.
All drop-down lists are empty. But clicking on any empty element of drop-down
list successfully opens an object as usually.
With best regards.

one that allows the user to remove his own issues before they get reviewed.

The text box when processing the Screenshot Queue is already pre-filled. The
common reply links just add the line to the end without clearing the pre-filled

Deleting the pre-filled data manually means that the common reply links don't
work at all.

Summary: Calculation of overall rating is misleading to users
Product: WineHQ Apps Database
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: appdb-unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dimesio(a)earthlink.net
AFAICT, the overall rating for an app is calculated as an average of the
ratings submitted in tests for the most recent version. This leads to overall
ratings that do not match any of the submitted tests for that version.
The Microsoft Office 2007 installer is a good example:
Tests submitted on July 6 and 9 rated it platinum for 1.1.25, and the overall
rating was (correctly) platinum.
A test submitted on July 14 rated it garbage for 1.1.25, and the overall rating
dropped to gold.
A test submitted on July 16 rated it garbage for 1.1.25, and the overall rating
dropped to silver.
This is misleading. The gold rating tells users they need one or more tweaks to
get the app working, the silver rating tells them that basic functions work but
some advanced ones don't; in the Office 2007 example, neither rating reflected
the data that was actually submitted for that version.
