Bug ID: 40642
Summary: Show windows application menu in OS X global menubar
Product: Wine
Version: 1.9.9
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: winemac.drv
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: f.platte(a)platte-web.de
Distribution: ---
The MacDriver has evolved significantly from when it was introduced and I have
no need to use the X11 window environment since quiet some time. However what
is still missing menubar integration. I don't know if this ever was planed,
however I think this is one of the most logical progression for wine on OS X.
I'm posting this now because I just came across a windows tool which does
exactly that. While there were always attempts to theme windows like OS X and
emulating the global menubar now someone found a way to do just that
(http://lee-soft.com/el-capitan-menubar-for-windows/). So as it's possible to
extract windows applications' menus it might be possible to integrate them into
OS X's menubar as GTK and Java can inject menus there, too.
While I related this "bug report" to the MacDriver and OS X it might also be
useful for Ubuntu, as it (optionally) also features a global menubar.

When I attempt to run this game in DirectX 11 mode, the game crashes as soon as
it gets to the main menu with the following error in terminal:

Also, the game generates a crash.dmp and an error.log and I will attach those
as well in case they are of any use.
Full terminal output attached.

File Info:

Tested on both NVIDIA binary and Intel (MaxVersionGL 0x30002), log shows
multiple d3d11 messages. Program message box (also dumped to console):
Failed to create OpenGL context for format QSurfaceFormat(version 2.0, options
QFlags(), depthBufferSize 24, redBufferSize -1, greenBufferSize -1,
blueBufferSize -1, alphaBufferSize -1, stencilBufferSize 8, samples -1,
swapBehavior 2, swapInterval 1, profile 0) .
This is most likely caused by not having the necessary graphics drivers
installed.
Install a driver providing OpenGL 2.0 or higher, or, if this is not possible,
make sure the ANGLE Open GL ES 2.0 emulation libraries (libEGL.dll,
libGLESv2.dll and d3dcompiler_*.dll) are available in the application
executable's directory or in a location listed in PATH.

I noticed this in
http://dlm.cypress.com.edgesuite.net/akdlm/downloadmanager/software/PSoCDes…
while looking at bug 31369, but it's also been reported in bug 28177 (and I
recall seeing it in some other applications, but I don't have a note of which
ones they were).
Native .Net via winetricks works around it. (dotnet20sp2 in the case of PSoC
Designer)
