## System details
OS: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (xenial)
Wine: wine-staging 2.15.0~xenial
Game: Diablo 3 (Mode = "Fullscreen (Windowed)")
## Environment setup
dpkg --add-architecture i386
wget -nc https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/Release.key
apt-key add Release.key
apt-add-repository https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/
apt-get update
apt-get install winehq-staging
export DISPLAY=:0 LANG=en_US.utf8 WINEARCH=win32
WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.winestaging-32bit
## Reproduce
1) Start `/opt/wine-staging/bin/wine Battlenet/Blizzard\ App/Battle.net\
Launcher.exe` & Launch Diablo 3
2) In-game:
Hold Shift-key (to force character not to move when clicking with mouse)
Hold Left Mouse Button down
## What should happen
The mouse button should keep down for as long as I actually hold the mouse
button down. In-game the character should stand still and channel a skill.
## Result
The game acts as if I released my hold of the mouse button and the character
stops channeling it's skill. This happens on every odd mouse-down.
In other words: the first time I hold down the Left Mouse Button everything
works as it should. The second time I hold down the the Left Mouse Button the
game thinks I released it after ~half a second even though I'm still physically
holding the mouse button down. Then on the third time it works as it should, on
the fourth time the button acts if it was released automatically. And the cycle
repeats.

I have mouse jump problems on mouseOver inside Wine dialog boxes.
In other words, when I move the arrow cursor over any part of a Wine
window/dialog box (except the top grab bar), the arrow jumps left and up about
a inch. Unfortunately mouse clicks are sent as though the mouse was still where
one would expect it to be. In other words, with the arrow cursor over the Wine
dialog box, the cursor is up and left of where mouse clicks are sent from.
I tried disabling Compiz, with no effect. In fact it appeared that compiz was
already disabled, despite talk of default enabling under 8.04

Summary: Focus Problems with Tera
Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.24
Hardware: x86-64
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: eli(a)orbsky.homelinux.org
Hi.
Using wine 1.7.24 32bit on x86_64.
Wine is configured to:
Automatically capture the mouse in full-screen
Allow the window manager to decorate the windows
Allow the window manager to control the windows
I play games in full sreen on a dual screen setup. The screen that I play on is
sitting to the right while my other screen is to the left.
The game that I play most of the time is Tera online, but I've seen these
problems other games as well.
1st Focus Problem
-----------------
After starting the game, the launcher pops up and I can login. When I press on
the play button; what should happen next is a splash screen pops up, then a
warning about not being able to exceed 4GB memory should pop up ontop of the
splash screen. I would then dismiss the warning and then the game should pop up
in front and I should be able to play.
What does happen is that the the splash screen, the warning screen and the game
itself are all thrown into the background. I need to alt-tab to the warning
screen before I can dismiss it. Then I need to alt-tab to the game window
before it appears. The game then starts normally.
Now... If I disable "allow the windows manager to control the windows" then the
windows pop up as expected, but.... when the game pops up, the mouse does not
move.
2nd Focus Problem
-----------------
During transition screens the mouse looses focus and I can drag the mouse off
the game. This also happens after starting a dialog with an npc and the dialog
box of the "conversation" appears. If I click on the game again all is well,
but I shouldn't loose the focus.
3rd Focus Problem
-----------------
Sometimes, when actually playing I cannot turn to the left (where my secondary
monitory is sitting and the game is not. I can continue to turn to the right,
but turning left is froozen unless I alt-tab cycle out of and then back into
the game and all is well.
If there is any additional information that you need from me I will do my best
to either provide that info or ask howto provide it.
Thanks for any time you might spend looking into the problem.

Bug #: 32986
Summary: Fallout New Vegas: Anti-aliasing doesn't work properly
Product: Wine
Version: 1.5.24
Platform: x86-64

Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2

Classification: Unclassified
Before continuing I should mention Multisampling is enabled in the Wine
registry.
Anti-aliasing in Fallout: New Vegas doesn't seem to work like it should. Values
up to 8 samples (as per the launcher) apply anti-aliasing, but it seems like
it's only in fact rendering with 2 samples. Selecting 9 samples or more simply
disables anti-aliasing altogether.
World details are anti-aliased correctly. Buildings, streetlamps and the like
are smoothed like they should be, while objects like grass are not.
Furthermore, structures in the distance (like pylons) are not aliased at all
and look like pencil scribbles from MS Paint.
I've observed this in Wine versions throughout the 1.5.x series. My distro is
Arch Linux x86_64.
DirectX 9 DLL overrides *are* being used as the Steam installer for New Vegas
installs DirectX automatically. I have not yet tested it without overrides.
This doesn't occur in Skyrim, a game that uses the same engine as New Vegas.
My specs:
Nvidia 660Ti 2GB
16GB DDR3 RAM
Intel Core i5 3.4GHz @ 4.0GHz

The following patch has a test which shows that RemoveDirectoryA will set
incorrect GetLastError error.
For example, using RemoveDirectoryA("D:\\not_exist_file") will lead to
ERROR_PATH_NOT_FOUND in windows while ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND in Wine.
I had tried to write a patch to fix it and it worked.
However, it causes a set of tests failed in ntdll.

Vulkan is now released: https://www.khronos.org/vulkan/
Wine may profit from this.
The HLSL -> SPIR-V compiler can make it possible to translate direct3d shaders.
I guess implementing that backend can make Wine much faster for 3D graphics.
I'm unsure though if the translation interface is too complicated and slow if
the application still does the OpenGL/Direct3D calls.

Origin works well enough, and downloads Titanfall. It's playable at 45% so I

I've attached the backtrace and terminal output, from the latter it looks like
it might be a .dll error, which the first couple lines of the backtrace
corroborate (bcrypt.dll?)

When trying to load the Sylenth1 VSTi in any kind of host, Wine crashes with a
stack dump and backtrace.
You can download Sylenth1 from:
http://www.lennardigital.com/modules/downloads
(5MB, no sign up required.)
This happens in all hosts I tried, native Linux ones (LMMS, QTractor) as well
as Windows ones running in Wine (FL Studio, Reaper.)
The easiest and fastest way to reproduce the error is:
* Install LMMS (should be available in all distros)
* Install Sylenth1 with Wine
* Run LMMS
* Insert the "VeSTige" instrument into the song editor.
You do that by clicking on the "Instruments" icon in the
vertical bar to the left and drag&dropping the "VeSTige"
item into the song editor.
* In the VeSTige GUI (click the newly added VeSTige instrument
to bring up the GUI), click the folder icon, select the
Sylenth1Demo.dll and click OK.
At the moment the DLL runs, Wine crashes.
I'm using Wine 1.3.37 on Gentoo Linux AMD64.

If someone tries to use it or connect to an HTTPS website that uses an ECC

Summary: Empire Earth v2.0: mouse cursor only moves at high
mouse movement
Product: Wine
Version: 1.6
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: directx-dinput

ReportedBy: toxatec(a)web.de
Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 45468
--> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=45468
WINEDEBUG="+dinput"; simulated mouse movement with xdotool
Moving the cursor in Empire Earth v2.00.3466 is not possible unless you move
the mouse very quickly. When you do, the cursor moves by only a few pixels.
Generating mouse movement with xdotool [1] showed that the cursor moves by 1
"unit" for each 120 pixels the mouse moves. One "unit" seems to be more than 1
pixel and depend on in-game settings...
$ xdotool mousemove_relative -- 0 119 # --> no cursor movement
$ xdotool mousemove_relative -- 0 120 # --> moves cursor by 1 unit
$ xdotool mousemove_relative -- 0 239 # --> moves cursor by 1 unit
$ xdotool mousemove_relative -- 0 240 # --> moves cursor by 2 units
About the logfile:
Started the game, then in main menu: no mouse movement except 3x 119, then 3x
120 pixels downwards using xdotool, then alt-F4
Those parts look interesting but with I'm lacking the skills to figure out
what's wrong or even fix it:
$ bzcat dinput-120.log.bz2 | grep -B10 -A30 120
$ bzcat dinput-120.log.bz2 | grep -B10 -A30 119
I hope this is helpful..
Using native dinput, behavior is completely different and hard to describe. I'm
not sure if it's relevant:
The game seems to remember the amount of pixels you have moved in X or Y
direction, moving the cursor by a corresponding value on every mouse event
(also clicks). After moving the mouse to the right, the cursor keeps going
right even when you move the mouse left. Moving the mouse in the other
direction lowers that "memory", stopping the cursor eventually.
You have to set "Mouse Sensitivity" to "1" in regedit, otherwise the cursor is
uncontrollably fast.
This is different from the issues with the Demo version or 1.00 (bug 13351),
therefore I'm creating a new bug report.

(When painting on the canvas it stays white.) But the thumbnails of layers show
that thigns are being painted.
Under the debug mode this is the only thing that comes up:

after 1.4.1 )

Terminal Log
I am trying to run the student version of Solid Edge ST8 on up-to-date OpenSUSE
Tumbleweed using the latest wine build. It seems that there has not been
activity in the DB entry for SE for years and so I am under no illusion that it
is supposed to work but I can't see any major reason why it should not because
I cannot see any reason for the program needing any hardcore Windows APIs.
After all, it is mostly OpenGL and OpenCL and its big brother NX which it
shares a lot of engines with has native Linux support. I am therefore
determined to get it working.
It installed just fine after I changed Wine to at least Windows 7 (it didn't
like XP...) and the tiny "Viewer" program works but the full program terminates
upon startup with a dialog that says "Error loading LOCALE resource library
SPLASH.drx". I can confirm that the file is present on the filesystem and in
the same place that it is on my Windows PC where the program works.
I have attached the terminal output from wine. I do think though that maybe the
"fixme:module:load_library unsupported flag(s) used (flags: 0x00000060)" line
might be the cause of the problem.

I using a 64bit Manjaro (an Arch based) linux, the version is 17.0.1 on a
desktop computer. (Core2Quad Q6600 4GB ram, Nvidia GTX650 OC 2GB)
I have this strange mouse movement in many 3D games under Wine.
When moving the mouse slowly, it always moves down-righ a bit, no matter which
way I really move the mouse.
It is possible to move to the direction that I really move the mouse, but it
looks like something "fighting" with my mouse movement and always moving it a
bit to the down right direction.
I tried with 3 different mouse (a Logitech cordless, a Trust GXT 25, and a
noname cheap one) in every USB port and always getting this strange movement
with every mouse.
This problem is makes those games impossible to play, because it is impossible
to aim correctly.
I already searched for solutions on the web, but I can't find anything that
works.
Changing anything with winecfg not working. Changing mouse settings in the OS
not helping.
There is one suggestion that said, this is something to do with that the OS is
recognising the mouse as a joystick/gamepad, so not wine problem, but that not
the problem in my case!
I tried that "solution" too and I find out my mouse is fine and not recognised
as a joystick, so I think the problem is really with Wine.
I think this is Wine problem, because those games under real Windows in this
same computer, are working fine.
Most of the games that I own and like to play are working fine in Wine and/or
have native Linux versions.
But that few that is affected with this problem are in the top that I really
like. So it would be really nice, if someone can help me to get rid of this
problem.
One more thing; this strange movement is only happening in the 3D environment.
In menus or inventory or something like that, when you see a mouse cursor it
never happens, the mouse moving normally as expected.
Games that not using 3D are not affected with this, and there are some 3D games
that working fine.
I think this is not releated to specific game engine, because it happens to me
with games with different 3D engines.

As in the title, I cannot use full screen resolution (1366x768, 16:9) with game
that support it.
In particular the game is GTA San Andreas (I think 1.01v).
I'm using wine 1.5.27.
The game lists only 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768. On Windows it is able to start
with the full screen resolution (1366x768) and there are also more other
resolutions available.
The game has been installed in the same way on both Windows (7) and Linux (Xubu
12.10).
I tried to use a virtual desktop. I set it to 1366x768 but the game still lists
only 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768.
I also tried to use a bigger virtual desktop (4000x3000). In this case, the
game was able to recognize the 4000x3000 resolution (it started but clearly was
unplayable due to huge resolution) but 1366x768 is still not present.

and to open it, I needed to convert it to the Windows's awkward wchar_t and
back). I hadn't a copy of Windows that time, so I tested it on wine. There's
the tested code:
char* WcharToUTF8(wchar_t *in)
{
uint64_t len = WideCharToMultiByte(CP_UTF8, MB_ERR_INVALID_CHARS, in, -1,
NULL, 0, NULL, NULL);
char *out = (char*)calloc((len + 1) * 6, sizeof(char));
WideCharToMultiByte(CP_UTF8, MB_ERR_INVALID_CHARS, in, -1, out, len, NULL,
NULL);
return out;
}
It worked on wine. On wine it returns correctly converted string. On real
Windows it returns nothing, and empty string crashes the program.
After replasing MB_ERR_INVALID_CHARS with 0 it worked on both wine and Windows.
char* WcharToUTF8(wchar_t *in)
{
uint64_t len = WideCharToMultiByte(CP_UTF8, 0, in, -1, NULL, 0, NULL,
NULL);
char *out = (char*)calloc(len + 1, sizeof(char));
WideCharToMultiByte(CP_UTF8, 0, in, -1, out, len, NULL, NULL);
return out;
}
Also, the code was stolen from MSDN page about codepages, and there was a note
about "nothing will work correctly WITHOUT MB_ERR_INVALID_CHARS".
Windows bug? Wine bug? Wine did work as said in MSDN, Windows did not.

Game has black and red textures (particularly in faces, mainly visible in
cutscenes), and missing vegetation:
https://i.imgur.com/uSKHNMw.jpghttps://i.imgur.com/VvxdZZY.jpg
Problem can be worked around by changing any graphical setting (such as Shadow
Quality), resulting in near correct output (disregarding other bugs):

If I reload a save, the problem will occur again. Problem is not limited to
cutscenes, but the red/black face problem appears to be consistent in
cutscenes, but intermittent outside of cutscenes.
Testing was done using this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2033/?
allowing setting changes during cutscenes.

This is an indie game built on Unity (4.5.x).
When the game uses the DX11 renderer and you enter the 3D world of the game,
everything is rendered upside down except HUD elements.
The menus also look good.
With the DX9 renderer (disabled d3d11.dll) scenery is rendered correctly in the
3D world.

create the device (i.e. the test prints "Init OK").

Graphical issues are present in the game as reported in bug #37070.
Since Wine 1.9.6 the game crashes when starting a new game from the main menu:
'DirectX Error: DDERR_SURFACEBUSY'.
Tested with the GOG.com version of the game. Demo version is available on
Fileplanet, but the website has been marked as malicious site by Chrome and
Firefox, so I didn't check whether the demo has the same problem.
