Errors during proteus installation
Hi,
I am installing proteus 8.1 sp1 and the install stops when asking for the
licence key. I click on next and nothing happens.
I tried the solution of bug 35544 by installing winetricks -q w57 but it didnt
work. I am using wine 1.7.13.
The main error seems to be

installed via winetricks:

I've tried installing the individual d3dx9 dlls ( d3dx9_36, d3dx9_26, d3dx9_43,

via winetricks but none of those helped.
Terminal output without "winetricks d3dx9" being ran has been attached.

I'm using wine-1.7.0 which I've patched with the

When I play (no matter what graphics settings, no matter if fullscreen or

because I cannot tell the difference which players are alive and which are dead
anymore. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like:

Now that bug #40219 is fixed, the game can be started using the built-in
msvcr120.dll
The menu works, I can select missions, difficulty and playable characters.
The problem arises when trying to enter the game: instead of loading the first
level, the game rotates 2 screens forever and the game never loads. One of the
screens is a black and white Neo-Geo logo, the other is a white screen with
some corrupted textures on it.
This is probably a bug in built-in msvcr120.dll, because the game works
properly when using native msvcr120.dll.
Actually, the game automatically installs MSVC++ 2013, you only have to add the
override:
msvcr120=native,builtin

I don't know if it's possible to trim apitraces at the start, but if so, please

back trace of the bug
I encountered a problem with the 64-bit .NET Framework:
My C# program is very simple:
Code:
static void Main(string[] args)
{
System.Console.WriteLine("Hello world!");
Debug.WriteLine("Debug Hello world!");
}
I installed the WINE-2.12 64-bit on CentOS 7 (3.10.0-514.21.1.el7.x86_64) and
installed the .NET Framework 4.6.1 onto it. Before installing the .NET
Framework, I removed wine-mono. I got the following error message when I tried
to run the above program:
Hello world!
Unhandled Exception: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to
an instance of an object.

at ConsoleApplication3.Program.Main(String[] args)
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address 0x1aa460fd
(thread 0009), starting debugger...
The problem is with the line "Debug.WriteLine(...)". However, the same
application compiled with 32-bit works well.
I found out that I got the similar error at other positions when I ran our
in-house 64-bit .NET program, even if I don't use Debug.WriteLine(...), so I
created the hello-world program to reproduce it.
My final goal is: run our 64-bit .NET application on a 64-bit WINE with .NET
Framework 4.6.1.

Command line messages, from a run on Linux Mint Debian Ed. x64 / Mate Desktop
and Wine 1.7.15
DELISprint is an online/offline parcel check-in and label print application
from DPD, a large German parcel service. It is necessary for business
customers of DPD. You need to be a registered customer to really use it, but
it can be freely tried in demo mode. It may be freely downloaded from
http://delisprint.dpd.com/download/v5/DELISprint_Setup.exe (Ver. 5.6.7.0, 30
MB).
According to its included Help PDF it is written for Win 2000/XP, but runs also
on Win 7. It seems to make heavy use of a Jet DB and brings 30 dlls. Prior to
installation in a new WINEPREFIX it needs jet40 and mdac28 via winetricks.
With these prerequisites DELISprint_Setup.exe installs. On first start it
automatically imports quite a lot of CSV data into its DB and then seems to
work. But on exit and second start it hangs at its splash screen, the Wine
debugger window opens but remains empty.
The same happened with Wine 1.7.11 and Wine 1.6.2 on an x86 installation.
I found one old unanswered forum thread with the same problem:
http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-users/2012-March/104110.html
See attached command line messages, from a run on Linux Mint Debian Ed. x64 /
Mate Desktop and Wine 1.7.15, after clicking »Close« in the debugger window and
then pressing Ctrl-C because the program didn't close.

What …
[View More]happens:
heavy multi-threaded network application in one thread reads/writes from/to
a socket while in another thread .net GC calls GetWriteWatch with flag
WRITE_WATCH_FLAG_RESET on a buffer which was just verified for write access
and passed by ws2_32.recv to recvmsg kernel call. While recvmsg waits for
incoming data GetWriteWatch resets write watches by clearing VPROT_WRITE
access on a buffer passed to recvmsg. That cases recvmsg to return EFAULT
which in turn leads to a .net application raising an exception and dying.
This is basically a .net garbage collector causing races in network code
which reads/writes to a buffer because reading or writing via a network
is much slower than say reading/writing a disk file, but essentially this
is a general problem with resetting a write watch while another thread
is being dealing with the affected memory range.

How the minigame looks on linux
NieR:Automata is an 64Bit DX11 game on Steam. It has some rendering issues,
most standard bullets are completely invisible, both in the actual game and the
minigame.
Screenshots attached.
I made an apitrace, but unfortunately this comes at a whooping 1.4GB (543MB
compressed). If you still want it, I uploaded it here:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/me8dsk3asiuqoiw/automata.7z
I don't know if it's possible to trim apitraces at the start, but if so, please
tell me and I'll shrink it down. It's just that I can't skip those parts of the
game.
Screenshots from frame 3050(windows) and 3052(linux), but I removed the
transparency.
Using wine-2.12-staging on Arch Linux for my tests.

I've had great success playing The Witcher 3 using wine-staging 2.11.
I managed to play about ten hours in the area called White Orchard.
After moving on to the area called Velen I pretty soon encountered a system
freeze that is reproducible every time.
When the freeze happens the in-game music keeps playing.
I can sometimes switch to TTY1 but afterwards the system reacts to nothing and
the music stops. A hard reset is the only option. A savegame in the area where
this happens is attached.
Just turn left and run towards the cart. This freezes my system reliably.

This is apparently due to a change in behaviour of winbind, as pointed out
here: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42220#c2
This affects two of the test machines:

[View More]This is the step that I found on your website. But there are some things I am
not clear about-
../configure --host=aarch64-linux-gnu host_alias=aarch64-linux-gnu
--with-wine-tools=../yourotherbuilddir/ --without-freetype --without-x
--enable-win64
What do you exactly mean by "yourotherbuilddir"?
I am building wine from source. So do you want to install the wine by normal
method first and then use this or what? Please explicitly mention the steps
before using above command line. Thank you
