Results from screenfetch (minus some personal and superfluous details)
I have been trying to play Blizzard games for a while now, but since the 3.0
Wine release the login button on the battle.net Login screen never appears,
making me unable to get to my account. I'm going to be honest and say I have no
idea how to debug this further, so I was hoping someone could help me through
the steps to provide better information.

QtWebEngineProcess.exe backtrace
It seems that EA have broken the Origin client with their latest update.
Whatever I do, I'm getting:
Unhandled exception: page fault on write access to 0x00000000 in 32-bit code
(0x1123fba2).
in QtWebEngineProcess.exe.
More details:
Had a working installation of Origin on Wine 2.21 x64. Update was pushed out on
20/2/2018 and now I'm getting the above error. Tried to re-install/uninstall,
no avail.
Decided to try a fresh wine prefix. Tested with 2.22/3.1/3.2 (64bit), 3.1/3.2
(32bit). The same result.
Backtrace is attached.
Not sure if I can provide any more debug info.

In Skyrim Special Edition, …
[View More]when a player is supposed to interact with an NPC,
nothing happens. The player does not hear any audio, and cut scenes associated
with a given interaction do not play. Furthermore, the NPC's don't move their
mouths is if they are trying to talk.
The issue is best described as if the characters don't know that they're
supposed to do anything. They just sit there and nothing happens.
Unfortunately, this breaks the game, as the player cannot make it through the
opening tutorial.
Please see this video showing what the player is to expect when the opening cut
scene ends: https://youtu.be/p3teMHOfmsg?t=3m37s The player is removed from the
cart, which brings them to the character selection screen.
When running under WINE, the player remains sitting in the cart with the 3
other NPCs, and nothing happens when the cart comes to a stop.
Outside of that, the audio in the game appears to work correctly. Sound effects
such as horses grunting, and the wheels of carts rolling along cobblestone
paths play as they should.
I have attached a log file when the following command was executed in the Steam
directory '$ wine Steam.exe &>log.txt'.
I also have a screenshot showing the cart ride cut scene, where normally player
would hear the stormcloak soldier saying "Hey, you, finally awake...etc":
(Please see https://youtu.be/p3teMHOfmsg?t=43s for an example.) Where in my
screenshot, said soldier just sits there and doesn't say a word.
Tested on:
Wine 3.0
Distro is Solus
AMD FX-8350
AMD R9 280X with the opensource mesa drivers
xaudio2_7 (builtin then native) override in place

[View More]Jack's Attic, an old educational game, fails to launch due to a claimed lack of
virtual memory.
The application calls GlobalMemoryStatus, and adds together the reported values
for TotalPageFile and TotalVirtual, then does a signed comparison with 3MB.
However, GlobalMemoryStatus contains code to limit the total virtual memory to
0x7ffdffff, and also contains code to limit the total paged memory to
0x7fffffff *if* the application is detected to be an old binary (just by
comparing version numbers). These, added together, yield 0xfffdfffe, which is
negative and so less than 3MB.
The game works fine on Windows, because the reported virtual memory isn't
limited (and so the addition wraps around and remains positive). This is
Wine-specific code which is included to help other applications work where they
wouldn't on Windows. Unfortunately, it causes this application to fail.
Perhaps a better solution would be to use a registry key?

As per title Wine 3.0 is unable …

With Wine 3.0 things did not improve, the software "initiliazes" but after
clicking ok it just crashes. In fact with the 3.0 when click to see more about
the error it doesn't produce anything as it gets stuck.
In the same thread an user replied with:
"Hi, I gave the program a try and got the same crash,
>From debuglog it appears it was printer-related. I have no printer installed,
but did not believe a program can crash because of that. But remarkebly the
following did the trick to get the program running:
sudo apt-get --no-install-recommends install cups-pdf
I`m not sure if this is a bug in wine and /or the program?."
It would be very useful having Wine run this software as it is a very powerful

If Touhou 14 (Double Dealing Character) is in a folder with non-ASCII
characters (e.g. "東方"), it "[encounters] a serious problem" (Wine crashes)
after clicking "Play" on the "Choose resolution" picker. Renaming the folder to
use ASCII characters prevents the crash. This might have something to do with
file read/write access.
A demo, that will display the same issues if the extracted directory is renamed
to contain non-ASCII characters, can be found here:

Bug ID: 44479
Summary: Battle.net "Failed to create a graphics context. "
Product: Wine
Version: 2.21
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org

As of today, battle-net doesn't work …
[View More]anymore. I believe the app just updated.
After logging in, the app window comes up all black, and a few seconds later
halts with the following error:
"Failed to create a graphics context. "
https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/12706
Curiously that Blizz support page even says "Note: This error is also occurring
with some Linux-based installations using WINE." but does not say anything
else.
I tried several things that helped Windows users having the "Failed to create a
graphics context." error in the past, as well as some Wine related suggestions.
- Tried setting QT_ANGLE_PLATFORM to "warp"
- Ensured my nVidia drivers and Wine are up to date
- Ensured I have 32 bit packages for nVidia
- Disabled browser acceleration
- Tried using both Windows' DX11 dlls as well as Wine's built in ones
I have noticed the following in console:
err:ntdll:NtQueryInformationToken Unhandled Token Information class 24!
err:wgl:X11DRV_WineGL_InitOpenglInfo couldn't initialize OpenGL, expect
problems
Arch Linux
KDE 5
Wine 2.21 Staging
Posted to Blizz forums too, just in case:
