The sound in Settlers IV is stuttering and appears to be playing several times.
Maybe a buffer is underrun? Also it does appear not to stop in the correct
times, i.e. the dialogue continues in the game, when it plays a second time.
For reference look here: https://youtu.be/91fnRyLnFiI

Wine menu name on Mac OS X
This is more a question/enhancement than bug, but is it possible to allow the
end-user to modify the name of, for example, CFBundleName property in
./loader/wine_info.plist?
When running wine from a .app on the Mac, this would allow customizing the name
as it appears in the menu bar. Otherwise all apps appear as simply "Wine" in
the menu. (See screenshot).
Is this already possible?

After upgrading to Wine versions 3.2 or 3.3 this program no longer launches. I
tested this in a brand-new dedicated WINEPREFIX and I compare to its working
counterpart in a virtual machine using Wine Stable so I'm sure my system is not
the problem.
Using Linux Mint 18.2 64bit.
I'm new to filing bugs so please let me know if I need to provide more
information, and what you need to know.

I'm trying to get WiiUUBhelper running on my linux system with Wine. I'm pretty
sure that the program is developed in VS.NET. I have followed this guide to get
the program running:
Step one - Install prerequisites in a 32-bit Wine Prefix:
Code:
WINEPREFIX=~/.WiiUUSBHelper WINEARCH=win32 winetricks msxml3 dotnet45 vcrun2010
Step two - Change Windows version:
Code:
WINEPREFIX=~/.WiiUUSBHelper winecfg
change "Windows Version:" to Windows 7. click "OK"
Step three - Run the program:
Code:
WINEPREFIX=~/.WiiUUSBHelper wine Updater.exe
This app requires a 32-bit prefix to run in Wine.
If you skip step one, it will hang at the first loading screen (Mono is missing
components required).
If you skip step two, it will hang with really stupid errors in console.
The tutorial is available here:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-wii-u-usb-helper-a-small-eshop-for-wind…
I'm using wine-staging. Reason is that the client contacts a webservice (443)
with ECC. Only staging seems to run that. When I use the steps above the
following happens, in windows 7:
wiiu@4520:~$ bash -c "WINEPREFIX=~/.WiiUUSBHelper wine
'/home/wiiu/usbhelper/Updater.exe'" > jan

I installed Outlook 2013 SP1 but I'm hitting an issue when trying to configure
an Office 365 e-mail account that uses 2FA (2-factor authentication).
So, 2FA means that I have to enter my user and passwd and then, on a second
stage, a 6 digits OTP code. For the later, a web-like prompt is usually
displayed which prompts me to enter the code.
However, after I enter the user and passwd in the first window I get an Outlook
error instead of the prompt for the OTP code and, by using the
"fixme-all,+loaddll,+tid,+seh,+timestamp" debug flags, I can see this dump:

does not crash, but the app crashes in wine. The game proceeds further than

Is released on May 15 so I want anyone to do a test on their Linux, Mac OS
Sierra,Fedora, Ubuntu, etc ..., use a version of Wine 3.4.3.5.3.6.3.7.3.8 or
Wine 3 at or 64bit Staging, not It has to be 32 bits because it will not work.
I'm going to leave the link below,
https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/
You have to tell me all the information in Test Result What works, What does
not, Workarounds, What was not tested, etc ...
And this is very important, You have to add in Know Bugs, and How to Important
you have to tell me which Winetricks you used for example:
SOULWORKER (DONT COPY THIS):
Workarounds
For the fonts seems to disappear, i just uncheck the Steam Overlay in game
proprieties on Steam, just enable it to get the 2 free item in cash shop per
day.
Some winetricks overrides are required:
winetricks glsl=disable dx3d9 corefonts usp10 msls31 riched20 riched30
o another example like South Park The Stick of truth:
Wine configuration:
For some users, it seems necessary to override the DirectX 9 libraries used by
the game. It doesn't seem to be needed in all setups, specifically not for Wine
1.7.13+ users with NVIDIA proprietary drivers, but if you see a blank screen or
graphics corruption, try overriding the following libraries, either manually or
through Winetricks:
d3dx9_43 -> (native, builtin)
d3dcompiler_43 -> (native, builtin)
Steam should install the DirectX and Visual C++ redistributable packages
automatically, but if for some reason they are missing,
That is in the Steam application, it does not have to be copied, or pirated,
that I will not allow.
Whoever made the Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum wins a surprise. Well that
was all on my part I hope you upload that game that appears in WineHQ I'll
thank you the community of Wine DEPENDS ON YOU.
Sincerely:
AngelInvasor
Postscript, do not forget to add in wine this WINEPREFIX: /path/to/steam.exe
-no-cef-sandbox

i cannot seem to get this app to run properly in wine.
Bruce, who is the programmer of it, told me he would be happy to make whatever

his website is:

The problem seems to be that the app expects GetDIBits() to return the number
of scan lines (comparison of return value against bmi.bmiHeader.biHeight).

__inout LPBITMAPINFO lpbi,
__in UINT uUsage

...
Return value
If the lpvBits parameter is non-NULL and the function succeeds, the return
value is the number of scan lines copied from the bitmap.
If the lpvBits parameter is NULL and GetDIBits successfully fills the
BITMAPINFO structure, the return value is nonzero.
If the function fails, the return value is zero.
This function can return the following value.
--- quote ---
"return value is nonzero" Ah how precise. Roll a dice?
Digging further it seems Microsoft dropped the Win9x part of API documentation.
Some websites carry the "old" API documentation that states:
--- quote ---
If the lpvBits parameter is non-NULL and the function succeeds, the return
value is the number of scan lines copied from the bitmap.
Windows 95:
If the lpvBits parameter is NULL and GetDIBits successfully fills the
BITMAPINFO structure, the return value is the total number of scan lines in the
bitmap.
Windows NT:
If the lpvBits parameter is NULL and GetDIBits successfully fills the
BITMAPINFO structure, the return value is non-zero.
If the function fails, the return value is zero.

For testing I changed the code for line 1392 to also return the number of scan

It lets the app successfully render/save fractals and the crash is gone.

When using Wine from the Ubuntu packages for Artful, wine fails to start the
game "The Settlers 3" - the game just shows a "structured exception" error
dialog and does not start.
This was tested with the following packages for Artful:
-Wine Stable 3.0
-Wine Staging 2.21
When installing instead the Wine Stable 3.0 packages for Xenial or the Wine
Staging 2.21 packages for Zesty on the same system (still Kubuntu 17.10), the
game starts as expected -> clearly a packaging problem with the Artful
packages.

Wine 3 at or 64bit Staging, not It has to be 32 bits because it will not work.
I'm going to leave the link below,

1.7.13+ users with NVIDIA proprietary drivers, but if you see a blank screen or
graphics corruption, try overriding the following libraries, either manually or
through Winetricks:
d3dx9_43 -> (native, builtin)
d3dcompiler_43 -> (native, builtin)

After upgrading from wine-3.7-1 to 3.8-1 on Arch Linux (x86-64) word, excel and
powerpoint fail. Word fails to start entirely and offers to start in safe mode
which then crashes again. Excel opens but then does not respond. Not sure what
is going on but happy to provide any information required. If this should be
put on the Archlinux bugzilla please let me know. All worked fine up to
wine-3.7-1 Thanks!

Summary: Terraria: No sound, and small bugs after wine 3.4

Terraria run log (closed after loaded, and should play sound)
After upgrading form wine 3.4, Terraria does not have sound. None of the newer
versions fixed this.
dotnet40 and xna40 installed with winetricks. Using 64-bit wineprefix with wine
3.4 has no problems with Terraria. Running Terraria with wine 3.8, 64 or 32-bit
has no sound.
Also there are some weird in game bugs, like can't use some items alternate
mode with right click, and selecting items in inventory with right click makes
the inventory disappear until held down, and rapidly "grabs" items from the
stack selected (should able to select 1, but just clicking selects like 3-5).
Related to sound : After changing Music volume in-game, it resets to 0%. Sound
and Ambient volume not affected.
There were no bugs with wine 3.4, and just by downgrading wine these issues are
fixed.
Using:
Terraria 1.3.5.3
Wine 3.8
Arch Linux 4.16.8-1-ARCH x86_64
This bug was reproduced just before posting.
