Wine doesn't accept the regcode of FL Studio 8 and the program appears in demo
mode. It does, however accept FL Studio 7 regcode. Regcodes work fine under
Windows XP.

What it should look like (on Windows)
FL Studio has a built-in file browser on the left. It can be used to load
plugins in a folder called "plugin database". The plugins can have images
associated with them that show as thumbnails.
A basic description of how this works: when FL is installed or first used a
folder called "plugin database" is created (the default location is
~/Documents/Image-Line/FL Studio/Presets/Plugin database/). In either "Effects"
or "Generators", for each plugin there is a set of 3 files: .fst, .png and
.nfo.
The .fst is a FL Studio state file and is the file that loads the plugin. The
.png is the thumbnail for the plugin. The .nfo (which has the same name as the
.fst) basically points to the image and probably all of them contain only
"Bitmap=Plugin.png".
On Windows, the plugin database folder viewed from FL's file browser only lists
the .fst files (with the pictures shown as a thumbnail for the .fst file) and
hides the actual .png files that are referred to in the .nfo. See "What it
should look like (on Windows)" image attached.
On Wine, the plugin database folder doesn't replicate this behaviour and lists
the .png files alongside the .fst files. See "What it shouldn't look like (on
Wine)" image.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Download FL Studio (link at bottom of this post) and install it. Skip
ASIO4ALL installation if it comes up.
2. Open FL. It will load a project file on first startup. You can either just
stay on that or go to File > New (if there's no text, press F12 -> F3 -> n, if
a prompt comes up press n again).
3. On the left is the file browser sidebar. Click the button that has a plug
icon (the last button of three) at the top of that sidebar.
4. Click on either the "Effects" or "Generators" folders, and then click on one
of the subfolders. The .png files will be in the list, which doesn't happen on
Windows.
Tested in a clean wineprefix.
OS: elementary OS 5.0 Juno (based on Ubuntu 18.04)
Tested on Wine 3.19 but 3.18 also had this bug.

Summary: FL Studio 11.x VSTi 'Slayer2' plugin doesn't work
after registration (ASProtect 1.4 software protection)

Hello folks,
a user in #winehq reported another plugin not working with FL 11.x (after
fixing bug 35178).
Plugin download:
http://downloads.image-line.com/slayer/slayer2_personalcopy_install.exe
Interestingly: http://www.image-line.com/documents/slayer.html
--- quote ---
FL Slayer2 is no longer available for purchase.
Existing registered customers will keep receiving support.
--- quote ---
Running 'VerA' (a specific tool to identify ASProtect versions) on the plugin
main dll 'Slayer2.dll' reveals:
--- snip ---
EntryPoint check: ASProtect .DLL style
Crypto info: Block type: 1(U), Info type: 1, Attempts: 1

ASProtect registered to: Image-Line Software
raw info data: [Slayer 2], [1.0], [1.4 build 04.01 Beta], [Image-Line Software]
--- snip ---
The plugin needs to be registered with license code to reproduce the problem
(the user has a legit license).
The protector decrypts the actual plugin code only with a valid license code
during dll initialization.
The 'plugin interface' dll export 'main' is redirected to real code which is
later called by the hosting application -> FL11.
In non-registered version the plugin dll export 'main' is just a stub,
returning zero:

--- snip ---
The protector doesn't like relay thunks (WINEDEBUG=+relay), it will refuse to
load further at some point, showing 'Error 198'.
When you simply run it within FL11 it will spit out the following messages on
terminal before dying:

--- snip ---
Since the user expressed interest to investigate this problem I will back off
for now ;-)
Just a hint for making analysis easier:
Write a small winelib app that acts as loader/host to avoid running the rather
large/complex FL Studio 11.x
Calling 'LoadLibraryA("Slayer2.dll")' is sufficient.
All the magic happens within dll entry point (attach event).
===
I will happily leave any bugs to people wanting to do their own analysis for
fun/learning experience.
Just indicate it: "I'm working on this" ... "I'll have a look" and I'll skip
that bug (there are still thousands of bugs not analysed yet) ;-)

Hello folks,
a user in #winehq reported this.
I was able to reproduce the problem with the demo version of FL 11 using the
following recipe (quoting IRC log):
--- quote ---
<alexmarkley> i am running into an issue with FL Studio 11 running on Linux
under Wine 1.7.8
<alexmarkley> most everything appears to be working, but there are a couple of
important software instrument plugins that fail to load any sounds
...
<alexmarkley> focht: File -> New from template -> Minimal -> Basic with limiter
<alexmarkley> focht: sub-window "Pattern 1", right click "Kick" -> Insert ->
DirectWave
<alexmarkley> focht: in the DirectWave window which appears, click the down
arrow next to "Select Preset"
<alexmarkley> focht: if you don't have any DirectWave presets, you can download
a free one
<alexmarkley> from within the GUI there
<alexmarkley> anyway, once you select the preset you will see it loads the
program, but clicking the piano keys results in no sound
<alexmarkley> focht: you will also notice that, in the loaded program, each
entry in the "Size" column is zero
<alexmarkley> focht: which is bad... in native windows (running in VirtualBox)
i see non-zero values for every one of those entries

--- snip ---
The 'DirectWave' plugin library uses FSCTL_IS_VOLUME_MOUNTED ioctl to check if
the specified volume is mounted before accessing each file (track).
Wine doesn't implement/stub that ioctl hence the failure, resulting in tracks
listed with zero size (as reported).
MSDN:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa364574%28v=vs.85%…
--- quote ---
FSCTL_IS_VOLUME_MOUNTED control code
Determines whether the specified volume is mounted, or if the specified file or
directory is on a mounted volume.
To perform this operation, call the DeviceIoControl function with the following
parameters.
BOOL DeviceIoControl(
(HANDLE) hDevice, // handle to device
FSCTL_IS_VOLUME_MOUNTED, // dwIoControlCode
NULL, // lpInBuffer
0, // nInBufferSize
NULL, // lpOutBuffer
0, // nOutBufferSize
(LPDWORD) lpBytesReturned, // number of bytes returned
(LPOVERLAPPED) lpOverlapped // OVERLAPPED structure
);
...
Return value
If the volume is currently mounted, DeviceIoControl returns a nonzero value.
Otherwise, DeviceIoControl returns zero (0). To get extended error information,
call GetLastError.
Remarks
The NTFS file system treats a locked volume as a dismounted volume. Therefore,
this call returns zero (0) after a volume is locked on the NTFS file system.
--- quote ---
For quick test I short-circuited the ioctl handling on the client side (ntdll)
like the existing FSCTL_LOCK_VOLUME and FSCTL_UNLOCK_VOLUME cases, returning
'success'.
It made the plugin happy and the wav files were correctly loaded/processed.
A more thorough solution is probably enhancing server/mountmgr.

New clean prefix, tahoma looks ugly and broken
I switched from infinality to new cleartype hinting (freertype 2.6.5). After
that I have strange problems with fonts rendering in wine (rest system works
fine). I played a lot with fontconfig settings, but it looks like my actions
don't have impact on tahoma rendering at all.

Hi, the Stalker series and also Sniper Elite have been affected by this issue
for years, since the infamous Wine "mousewarp" bugs.
When wine (currently tried upto 1.7.39) is *not* compiled with the option:
--without-xinput2
Then the full-screen mouse has a strange intermittent sticky/slowdown effect,
on both horizontal and vertical axes. It seems like xinput2's pointer barriers
are taking effect - the mouse gets some invisible resistance, and has to be
"pushed through" the barrier with extra force.
This is only an issue when wine is compiled *with* xinput2.
This is especially a problem with the Stalker games (e.g. Stalker Lost Alpha),
which need the mouse to work in the menu & inventory screens, as well as
first-person view.

Immediately after launching Microsoft's SQL Server Management Studio Express,
an "Object Explorer" pane is visible on the left to explore the connected SQL
server. Double-clicking on the "Databases" node to expand it produces the
following error message (see below)...
The databases can be acquired using the "Summary" window, and then the "Object
Explorer" pane can be synchronized to the "Summary" window. Although a
workaround exists, it is clumsy. Plus, a method so basic as expanding the
connected databases should not create such an error.
Incidentally, the error message is empty at first, and the message can only be
viewed by clicking on the "Show technical details" button in the error log...

Go to that directory, then run
setup.exe SAPWD=Hello
It will install MSSQLServer service and attempt to start it. The service will
fail to start, and the installer will subsequently (after ca.2 minutes) remove
all installed files.
I managed to reproduce it faster via interrupting the installer before it has a
chance to remove the service - after that starting any wine application
triggers the bug.
NtCreatePort is a part of undocumented Microsoft API called LPC. Some attempts
at documenting it can be found via google, e.g.:

A log of an attempt to run "wine setup.exe SAPWD=XXXXX" after successfully
decompressing the installation files.
I am quite new to wine and especially it's logging style, but it seems to me
that it fails to register its service. However i might obviously be completely
wrong.
The error(s) occurs while running "wine setup.exe SAPWD=XXXXX" after
successfully decompressing the installation files into C:\InstDir\ .
I have also tried with the BLANKSAPWD=1 switch.
I have no idea of the severity of this bug, however(being a newcomer) I set i
to normal, even though I'd suspect a lot of server applications would run into
similar issues, which would constitute a "wide range" and a "major" severity.
I am also not sure of which component to assign it to.

Noticed this in a few of the touhou games, where the main font has a different
weight and possibly different horizontal dimensions. This sometimes leads to
text going out of the textbox and getting clipped, like in this screenshot from
the touhou 13 music room.
Wine version is 1.5.31 on Ubuntu 13.04 (64-bit), though the same happens with
1.4.1 as well. The other screencap is from Windows 7.

patch to handle null-rootpath equivalent in GetVolumeInformationW
wine-1.1.10
I installed the Ford 1993-1994 truck service manual viewer from CD. The viewer
application requires that the CD be present in a drive before it will show
service data.
The viewer application c:/FORD/PUBS/programs/VIEW16.EXE complains that there is
no CD present, even though there is. (yes, links for d: and d:: were made
correctly in .wine/dosdevices).
It turns out that the application calls GetVolumeInformationW with a "root"
argument of "\\:". In this case, GetCurrentDirectoryW returns the desired root
path, but since root is not null, the code in GetVolumeInformationW uses "\\"
as the drive letter instead (and fails).
Patching GetVolumeInformationW to treat root == "\\:" the same as the null case
results in the application successfully detecting the CD and operating
properly.
Documentation of GetVolumeInformationW on MSDN seems to indicate that there is
a broader range of possible formats for the root parameter than the wine
implementation currently handles, so perhaps a more extensive fix is needed for
the general case.

Heavy Rain Demo (free and available through EGS, which can be easily installer
through Lutris) seems to have a problem with its animations when using Wine's
implementation of xaudio2_7.
Particularly, they don't seem to finish and instead just repeat in a loop. You
can see it in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-cWHZnx4xM (there
also seem to be some awful cracking going on but it seems to only affect the
full game so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
Using native xaudio2_7.dll solves the animation issues.
When using wine's implementation of xaudio2, the only xaudio-related line in
the logs appear to be this:
0152:fixme:xaudio2:IXAudio2Impl_QueryInterface
(0xa5ba90)->({60d8dac8-5aa1-4e8e-b597-2f5e2883d484},0x22f950), not found
As a backend, I use FAudio.
Let me know if any logs are needed and which debug channels I need to use.

The binary that works well on Windows, and less well with Wine
If Wine executes a C++ program executing `std::filesystem::remove_all`,
compiled with MSVC, then it will only succeed to remove empty folders, but will
silently fail if the folder is not empty. The call will not raise any error,
but the folder and its content will stay on disk.
In attachment is such a program, rm.exe. If you do `rm.exe <dirname>` on wine,
it will fail to delete non-empty folders. But the same command on Windows will
succeed.
The only Wine terminal output, which shows both when deleting an empty folder
(success) and a non empty-one (failure: bug), is:
002b:fixme:kernelbase:AppPolicyGetProcessTerminationMethod 0xfffffffffffffffa,
0x22fd10
I tested this with wine-4.0-rc5 on Archlinux. And did the Windows side of tests
on a Windows 7 professional.
The program source code is:
#include <filesystem>
int main(int, char** argv)
{
std::filesystem::remove_all(std::filesystem::path(argv[1]));
}
I compiled this program with MSVC version 19.15.26732.1 for x64, with Wine, and
with `/EHsc /TP /std:c++17` flags.

linux 4.19 commit bd14406b78e6daa1ea3c1673bda1ffc9efdeead0
I bisected Linux 4.18 to 4.19 to find this commit which stops BO2 from
launching under any version of wine from 3.12 to 4.0-rc6, attachment below.
For convenience I hand-reverted the file kernel/events/hw_breakpoint.c as
follows :
/**
* modify_user_hw_breakpoint - modify a user-space hardware breakpoint
* @bp: the breakpoint structure to modify
* @attr: new breakpoint attributes
*/
int modify_user_hw_breakpoint(struct perf_event *bp, struct perf_event_attr
*attr)
{
int err;
/*
* modify_user_hw_breakpoint can be invoked with IRQs disabled and
hence it
* will not be possible to raise IPIs that invoke __perf_event_disable.
* So call the function directly after making sure we are targeting the
* current task.
*/
if (irqs_disabled() && bp->ctx && bp->ctx->task == current)
perf_event_disable_local(bp);
else
perf_event_disable(bp);
#if 0
/* new logic : >= kernel 4.19 */
err = modify_user_hw_breakpoint_check(bp, attr, false);
if (!bp->attr.disabled)
perf_event_enable(bp);
return err;
#else
/* old logic : <kernel 4.19 */
if (!attr->disabled) {
err = modify_user_hw_breakpoint_check(bp, attr, false);
if (err)
return err;
perf_event_enable(bp);
bp->attr.disabled=0;
}
return 0;
#endif
}
I examined some wine source code and found many instance of use of
PTRACE_POKUSER. I don't know enough about this function to know if this kernel
commit directly breaks the wine code, or some other fault in wine code is
indirectly triggering the problem. Using "old logic" in the file
hw_breakpoints above enables kernel 4.19 to start BO2 with 4.0-rc6 (and most
likely others).

I'm testing Home Designer Suite 21.3.1.1x64 on 5.3-rc3 with the patch from bug
48371 applied.
After starting home designer and opening a new plan, I am trying to draw my
first wall.
Left mouse button down sets the starting location of the wall, and as I move
the mouse the display is continuously updated with the new wall length. When I
release the left mouse button to set the end location, the wine window stops
being updated, the mouse cursor disappears while the mouse position is inside
the wine window, and my system is otherwise idle. I have to ctrl-C in the
terminal window where I started wine to kill it.
I've attached the terminal output from Wine. At the end of the output I added
some text that appeared after I used ctrl-C to kill wine.
I'll also attach the output that Home Designer logged as it ran.

Help / iTunes Tutorials and click Play.
There's no really useful backtrace.
Setting win7 mode keeps it from crashing, and
it then puts up a generic-looking player with
fast forward, play, a position indicator, etc.,
but nothing happens when you press play. (Pressing
fast-forward puts up a 2x indicator, so the gui isn't dead,
it's the innards that are busted.)

This is how iTunes 11.1.3.8 looks under wine 1.7.10
Installing iTunes (32 bit version) works. Starting it up only an empty window
is visible (see attached screenshot and the report in the AppDB).
During startup a popup appears with a message, that for importing and burning
audio CDs, iTunes must be reinstalled to make this work.
Also tried with the 64 bit version and wine x86_64, but there a lot more
problems occur (see AppDB report).
So almost nothing can be done with iTunes. What is a pity, because this is the
only reason a copy of Microsoft Windows is still running at home.

Summary: MSI SQL joins on tables with many rows are extremely
slow
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.57.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: msi
AssignedTo: truiken(a)gmail.com
ReportedBy: truiken(a)gmail.com
CC: ead1234(a)hotmail.com
With the current implementation of MSI SQL joins, we perform a Cartesian
product on the tables joined together. In the case where there is no WHERE
clause, this is the correct output, but if there is a WHERE clause, we still
perform the Cartesian product and then filter on the WHERE clause. Though it's
uncommon, there are a few installers (Visual Studio, Nero Express 7) that join
tables with thousands of rows. For example, say we have tables A, B, and C
s.t.
colA colB colC
----- ----- -----
1 1 1
2 2 2
... ... ...
1000 1000 1000
and we have the query
SELECT * FROM A, B, C WHERE `colA`=1 AND `colB`=1 AND `colC`=1
then the current implementation will create a new table with those columns
containing 1000*1000*1000=1 billion rows. Then we check each of the 1 billion
rows for any matches. There are several algorithms for optimizing joins:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Join_(SQL)#Join_algorithms
The solution I'll be working on is the merge join. This solution parses the
WHERE clause, starting with the two tables that the columns of the clause
belong to (colA -> A, colB -> B, etc) and joins those together, making sure to
eliminate rows based on the WHERE clause. Then the next table in the clause is
merged into the previously created table, eliminating rows. This continues
until there are no tables left. One optimization of this solution is to start
with parts of the WHERE clause that compare against literals. For example, the
query:
SELECT * FROM A, B, C WHERE `colA` = `colB` AND `colB` = 1 AND `colC` = 1
We'd start with "`colB` = 1" since the comparison is against a literal. We
perform 1000 comparisons on the rows of table B (count = 1000). The resulting
table is:
colB
----
1
then we do the same for table C (count = 1000), and the merged table is:
colB colC
---- ----
1 1
next we merge this table with table A:
colA colB colC
---- ---- ----
1 1 1
2 1 1
... ... ...
1000 1 1
and we search through this table for the condition `colA` = `colB` (count =
1000). So we've reduced billions of comparisons to 3000.
Unfortunately, the way our SQL engine is implemented, this will not be an easy
task.

I have given this a garbage rating and the page says to file a bug, so here
goes.
You register, and it gives you a downloader. Running the downloader, it slowly
downloads 464mb and writes a file of length 0 bytes :-//. So I used m$, which
is in the house, to download, and tried installing. I have a user set up just
for this, so I can wipe, hack, etc without upsetting anything.
After previous failed attempts I read errors and ran
winetricks gecko corefonts dotnet20sp2 vcrun6sp6 and stuck in dlls as native,
but that didn't help
It seems to want to do these steps
1. Unzip to C:\National Instruments Download - with coaxing it succeeds.
msiexec.exe & setup.exe each consume 49.x% of cpu. msiexec.exe rises to 99% if
keyboard input is wanted. msiexec then took off and grabbed the cpu with no
keyboard input wanted, so I killed it and setup moved on.
2. Next step is to take my name, license number (I used the trial version
option) and setup.exe grabs the cpu until it bombs. It actually works, but I
gather some threads are idle or have crashed, and idle seems to grab full cpu.
It spews msi errors - sampled below

if left running for several hours, it will make C:\National Instruments fill
that with about 500 Megs. It does install a Program\ Filed/blah/blah/Shared

I have this user here. Tell me what debug trace you'd like and I'll run it.

While looking at bug 10313, I went looking for a
freely downloadable version of Switched-on Schoolhouse.
The only thing I found so far was a free downloadable placement test
for a school which seems to have been
made with Switched On Schoolhouse 2000.
When you run it, it locks up your X session, and you have
to do alt-control-backspace to shut down the X server
to regain control.

Last few versions of Wine, I have not been able to use MapSource 6.13.5
software with my Garmin Edge705 unit to it's full extent, for MapSource is
unable to recognize the unit and therefore it cannot communicate with. Last
time it worked, I was using Wine 1.0.0, and when I downgraded from 1.1.20 to
1.0.1, it worked again. Wine log is attached. If there are any other tests I
can perform to help diagnose the problem, just let me know.

1. Open an application that has a radio button group, e.g.:
* WinMerge (http://winmerge.org/)
* Some installers
I will use WinMerge as the example for the rest of this bug report:
2. Press Ctrl+N to create a new document
3. Enter "A" in the "Untitled left pane"
4. Enter "B" in the "Untitled right pane"
5. Close the application
This will bring up a "Save modified files?" dialog. NOTE: Using tab to navigate
around the dialog sets the focus to the correct items in the correct sequence.
6. Press the left mouse button on one of the "Save changes" radio buttons
7. Press the down arrow key
This should select the "Discard changes" radio button. The button has the
focus, but is not selected. As a workaround, pressing the space key will select
the button.
8. Press the down arrow key
This should select the "Save changes" radio button, cycling the radio button
grouping. This does not work. If you are on the bottom group, it selects the
"Discard All" button. If you are on the top group, no item is selected and
pressing the down arrow key again selects the "Untitled right" edit box.
9. Press the left mouse button on one of the "Discard changes" radio buttons
10. Press the up arrow key
This should select the "Save changes" radio button. The button has the focus,
but is not selected. As a workaround, pressing the space key will select the
button.
11. Press the up arrow key
This should select the "Discard changes" radio button, cycling the radio button
grouping. This does not work. If you are on the bottom group, it selects the
"Untitled left" edit box. If you are on the top group, it selects the "Untitled
right" edit box.

Current wine behavior is to just assign the focus to the radio button, however,
Windows checks the radio button when it gets focus through the keyboard arrows.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open putty
2. Click the Raw radio button
3. Press right arrow twice
Actual results
* Port textbox stays at 23
* Rlogin radio button is not checked
Expected results (windows behavior)
* Port textbox changes to 513
* Rlogin radio button is checked
I'm attaching a patch that I believe fixes this, comments about it would be
appreciated.

I've seen this problem in some programs, but not others. Here's one problem
where it happens:
In the Celestia installer, on the initial page, it asks you to accept the GPL
license. By default, the radio button has "do not accept" selected.
On Windows, I can press "alt + a" to select the "accept" radio button. On Wine,
the "accept" button gets focus when I press "alt + a", but the radio button
doesn't get selected.

The fields description page has two sections for Importance. The first one is
right below the status definitions table; right below it are the definitions
for Priority and Severity (which is what users need to see). The second
Importance section is toward the bottom of the page, and it just describes the
field as "the combination of its Priority and Severity" without the severity
definitions anywhere in sight.
Clicking the Importance link on the bug report form opens the page at the
second Importance section when it should open at the first one (or even better,
at the Severity section, since that's what we really want users to see). The
result is that users don't see the actual definitions for severity even if they
do bother to click the link.

foobar2000 tab-drag icon bug (virtualbox)
In foobar2000, dragging a playlist tab (for example Default tab) creates a
T-shaped icon depicting the new position of the tab.
In Wine 3.15 in Debian Virtualbox (KDE with compositor=XRender), the icon is
rendered with a light-green background #eeffc0 instead of transparency. (hmm,
it's byteswapped c0ffee, is this intentional?) When I move my cursor away from
the tab bar, both the cursor and the background color fade out normally.
On my Kubuntu dual-boot without Virtualbox, I get a massive rectangle of
corrupted memory. Maybe my Intel i5-6200U GPU drivers are at fault, as I get
random corruption in KDE including transparent/flickering titlebars without
Wine running. I mostly worked around them by switching to XRender.
--------------
Additionally when I run foobar2000 with Wine without no audio output, and open
Preferences (Ctrl+P) and click on Playback/Output, "Device" is blank and I get
a popup "Please select a valid output device". The bug is the popup's
background appears to be uninitialized memory.
(Fun fact: The popup remains always on top, even when you switch windows and
move them over foobar2000. xkill and clicking the popup does nothing.)

To use the program one needs an account, but the client doesn't allow
registration: "Email Addresses from that domain are not permitted."
It works on my Win7 VM, but but on wine-3.0-rc6 and wine-staging-2.21.

Starting Vietcong with the original disc will result the most times in the
error message "Unable to authenticate original disc within time limit.".
Clicking on "Retry" will continue the authentication process but the vietcong
process will then close after a few seconds. The only message the terminal is
showing is "fixme:ntdll:server_ioctl_file Unsupported ioctl 2d1400 (device=2d

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 with Dualsock 4
I have a Dualshock 4 controller (Model: cuh-zct2e) and this is not detected at
all in Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4. The game uses dinput8.
My Dualshock 3 is detected as expected. I guess there is a mapping issue.
I've attached a log.

Compressed Trace Log
Hello,
If I use the bundled d3drm.dll version to play Lego Rock Raiders, the game
freezes after the first screen.
The music continues to play in the background but the game is unplayable.
Interestingly, holding down a key on my keyboard stops the freezing. For
example, holding down the Alt+Tab key combination causes the game to continue
rendering items on the screen.
Unfortunately using the native d3drm.dll doesn't work and causes a crash on
startup (bug #39497).

If some NPC's are talking for example if I'm finding a book with a story I have
troubles to understand them because the voices are very quiet. I have already
set all ingame sound to 100% and have still to need to turn up much my sound
boxes. Only the cinematics have a loud (normal) sound.

Hi,
Wine failed to return the toolbar text, even if just successfully add it, then
next attempt to get it in a row also failed.
Code:
TBBUTTON tbb;
tbb.idCommand = 123;
tbb.iBitmap = I_IMAGENONE;
tbb.fsState = TBSTATE_ENABLED;
tbb.fsStyle = BTNS_BUTTON;
tbb.dwData = 0;
tbb.iString = int(SendMessage(hwndToolBar, TB_ADDSTRING, 0,
LPARAM(TEXT("TEXT2TEST"))));
SendMessage(hwndToolBar, TB_ADDBUTTONS, 1, LPARAM(&tbb));
int nItem = 0;
tchar szLabel[LSTR];
TBBUTTONINFO tbbi;
tbbi.cbSize = sizeof(TBBUTTONINFO);
tbbi.dwMask = TBIF_BYINDEX | TBIF_TEXT;
tbbi.pszText = szLabel;
tbbi.cchText = LSTR;
SendMessage(hwndToolBar, TB_GETBUTTONINFO, WPARAM(nItem), LPARAM(&tbbi));
tbbi.pszText is empty on wine, but works on windows.

We are using Go-Global for UNIX v2.2.19 to connect to our servers.
(Download from
ftp://ftp.graphon.com/pub/GO-Global-UX/v2.2.19/go_setup_2.2.19.1222.exe)
This used to work pretty good with wine in the past. But with wine 1.7.25, as
soon as a graphical program is started, any mouseclick in the screen is
ignored, rendering the application useless.
You can use one of our servers to verify.
Steps to reproduce:
1. install under wine: works OK
2. choose secure socket as transport
3. connect to demo.cvix.nl
4. login using winetest/winetest as credentials
Then you will get a window with a firefox icon.
You can type in the bar and will get a website. Try a website where a
buttonclick is required and you will notice that this will not work. It simply
ignores the click event.
BTW. There is another problem with the keyboard. We are using a US-intl
keyboard, but it insists in using a Dutch keyboard where the keys are mapped to
different locations.
