Screenshot of the initial screen. The scrollbar is missing on the right.
In Google Sketchup 8 the initial screen is for selecting the template to be
used. The selection list contains several elements, but only the first few fits
the window. Normally there is a scrollbar in this window, but under wine there
is no scrollbar visible. Also it is not possible to scroll with arrows, or
mouse wheel. This way only the first few templates are selectable.
I use Opensuse 11.4 64 bit, wine is installed from the Opensuse emulators repo

When trying to install Google Sketchup 8 via the Winetricks interface, it seems
to successfully download the Google Sketchup 8 Install executable but then ??
Steps to reproduce:
1. Run Winetricks
2. "What do you want to do?" -> choose "Install an app" and click OK
3. "Which Package(s) would you like to install?" -> tick the checkbox next to
"sketchup" and click OK. Winetricks will now download the install package.
4. After the download completes, see the following error message:
Checksum for /home/[username
deleted]/.cache/winetricks/sketchup/GoogleSketchUpWEN.exe did not match,
retrying download
Multiple download retries produce the same outcome. Others have reported this
problem via WineHQ in the Google Sketchup 8 area.

Summary: Google Sketchup 8 : 2D Drawing File Export Broken,
Regression
Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.30
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org

I tested current Wine stable 1.6.2, current wine development 1.7.30, and Wine
1.5.4 today running Google SketchUp 7 and Sketchup 8. Test OS was Puppy Linux
Racy 5.5.
Google SketchUp 7 and 8 (free version) have for a long time failed to properly
export drawings as 2D graphics. Files produced are either transparent blank, or
entirely black images. Files affected are .png, .bmp, and .jpg. exports.
Wine 1.5.4 seems to have resolved this issue. (see
https://sites.google.com/site/sketchupsage/problems/linux -- list of wine
version issues resolved near bottom of page). I have successfully output
SketchUp 2D graphic files with that version.
However an upgrade to current Wine Stable 1.6.2 broke this capability again for
me, and a further test of 1.7.30 also showed the same 2D graphic export
problem.
After removing 1.7.30, and re-installing 1.5.4, the capability to save drawings
as 2D graphics from Google 7 & 8 returned.
2D graphic export is a critical function of the free version of Google Sketchup
7 and 8 -- it basically allows the production of plans, drawing, and image
files from SketchUp. It is essential functionality.
Without it, files can only be produced via an external screen capture program
at low resolution. That cripples this program's usefulness as a CAD or
illustration production tool.

I think this was not appearing in wine 2.1
When trying to customize the Office installation, user is presented with all
components and can choose the installation mode for each (not installed,
installed, installed at first use...).
These drop-down lists to specify the installation mode appear occasionally and
only for a fraction of a second.
It makes custom installation impossible.

Screenshot of DOSBox running when prompted to by Wine
Lo,
So I basically stumbled upon this one when trying to apply a patch for a game,
although the patch was an InstallShield 5 program (self-extracting with
PackageForTheWeb) - the patching would actually be done by it just calling an
exe->pif->bat that runs a 16-bit zip.exe program which updates a ZIP file of
the games with some replacement files.
I've worked out this is a Wine issue and there is an easier way to test it (as
the patch above would need you to have the game installed etc...)
# Grab an old 16-bit version of zip.exe (or anything that takes stdin using the
'<' symbol)
wget ftp://retronn.de/mirrors/garbo/pc/goldies/zip20x.zip
unzip zip20x.zip zip.exe
# Run it
wine cmd /c 'zip -@ x.zip < zip.exe'
# Witness what you will see in the screenshot I have attached.
The '< zip.exe' portion of the command just isn't written to the DOSBox
temporary config file... (e.g.
/home/lantizia/.wine/dosdevices/c:/users/lantizia/Temp/cfg4950.tmp )
[autoexec]

I am trying to use software called Lumen for the Light camera, which is only
available in either a Windows or IOS version. The windows version is available
from
https://light.co/lumen/windows
Besides the Lumen (Beta) software, the installer installs Qt Licensed Software
Redistributables and Visual Studio C++ Runtime Redistributables. In order to
get the latter to install, I followed a suggestion to use the Windows XP
version in winecfg for the installer. This seems to do the trick with the
installation. However, when I try to run the software, it bombs out. A
backtrace is posted here.

Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.22
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: blocker
Priority: P2
Component: registry
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: Pendrokar(a)gmail.com
What crashes is the license window, a workaround is to add a key to the Wine
registry:
wine reg add "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion" /v ProductId
/t REG_SZ /d 12345-oem-0000001-54321
To install Unity to reproduce this bug only installing fonts might be the only
prerequisite.
