I have built WINE myself, but I think that it is not a problem of my build.
MPC-HC does not seem to work very well: it uses so much CPU time, if compared
with other players. When I launch a playback, the console is filled at high
speed with this message:
fixme:quartz:MediaSeeking_IsFormatSupported Unhandled time format
{7b785570-8c82-11cf-bc0c-00aa00ac74f6}
I have no idea about this message, but perhaps the slowdown is caused by that
huge amount of prints on the console, you can even ear some sound breaks when
you switch between applications.
Sincerely.

I wasn't able to connect to a webcam with Adobe Flash 20 but since that
involves Firefox I decided to find a simpler test app. This is a
freeware/trialware multi-webcam and network camera viewer with a built-in web
server. It installs and executes without problems, and can see at least one
USB camera device, but fails with "An error occurred while connecting the video
source". Wine messages during source selection:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install wxpfree590.exe
2. Connect webcam and verify it works with native apps (xawtv, vlc)
3. Start webcamXP.
4. Right-click in box 1 in "Source selection" and select camera or video file.
5. Should show camera video feed or play video file.
Tested:
Edimax IC-700PTn V2 internet camera (direct and network file)
Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000
Logitech Quickcam Orbit/Sphere MP (2006)
Local MPEG and AVI (Indeo) file.
Web server is functional but can't do much without a video stream.
Developer indicates that Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (32-bit) is a
requirement for using RTSP sources but using winetricks to install vcrun2013
has no effect on behavior.

Summary: Wine 5.7 Multiple mono programs freeze with high CPU

Error logs. Output doesn't change between successful and failed runs.
Starting with Wine 5.7, multiple mono programs freeze with high CPU shortly
after starting. Wineserver also shows high CPU usage. Program window is only
partially drawn and is completely unresponsive.
Wine 5.8 is also affected.
Wine 5.6 works correctly.
A new, clean prefix was created for each wine version. Default settings with
file associations and folders turned off in Desktop Integration.
Tested programs:
Aurora C#
closed source, free download
home page: http://aurora2.pentarch.org/
base install: http://aurora2.pentarch.org/index.php?topic=10635.0
1.9.0 patch: http://aurora2.pentarch.org/index.php?topic=11134.0
1.9.5 patch: http://aurora2.pentarch.org/index.php?topic=11299.0
Wine 5.6 glitchy but mostly playable.
Wine 5.7, 5.8 incorrectly draws the main window too large, and some text is
black instead of yellow.
gedkeeper
open source, complies and runs correctly using native Linux mono.
home page: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gedkeeper/
git source: https://git.code.sf.net/p/gedkeeper/code
Wine 5.6 works fine.
Wine 5.7, 5.8 The scroll bar at the bottom of the language selection window
isn't drawn, but otherwise that window works. Clicking OK then gives a
partially drawn main window and freeze.

Hi,
I tried to use a program that uses this library:
https://github.com/microsoft/mimalloc
this library uses a precompiled dll file named mimalloc-redirect.dll
this dll can not load under wine since it have at least one missing dependency
RtlQueryEnvironmentVariable
this dll loads fine under winodws.
compiling the samples/test from this project will give you the test program.
even a simple program that just calls LoadLibrary will show the problem.

Diagnosed by Andrew Wesie; partially split off from bug 45327.
The game hooks NtContinue and expects it to be used to restore the thread
context after an exception handler returns EXCEPTION_CONTINUE_EXECUTION.
