I'm opening this bug mainly to provide my implementation (attached) as a proof of concept, and so that it can then be tested more extensively, helping it go upstream eventually. It is actually due to filenames which exceed OFS_MAXPATHNAME (128). However, the mouse coordinates in e.g. WM_MOUSEMOVE never exceed the original desktop dimensions of 800x600. Only restarting wineserver resolves this. Game launches easily, showing the splash screen, and then this error: DXC Error (DirectX9) DXC_VideoPlayerOverlayBase: CoCreateInstance failed (VideoMixingRenderer) Upon clicking "Ok", the game crashes.
