OpenMPT is one app which expects you to open a .lnk file in a file-open dialog. The way I found this bug is: - Install OpenMPT on Windows or Wine. - Open the View menu and click Setup. - Click the Keyboard tab, and click "Import Keys...". If you double-click "More Keymaps", Windows would go to the .lnk target directory. But Wine returns the .lnk file from the file-open dialog. Note that OpenMPT uses XP-style file dialogs on Wine because Wine's Vista-style file dialogs are terrible. https://github.com/OpenMPT/openmpt/blob/84428b3666d79d197a7bb9f3a9ece0b2ba2… On Wine, both XP/Vista dialogs don't traverse the .lnk file and instead return the .lnk path. Notably in the new Abyssal sites, as well as stars, around certain stargates, stations, and in certain anomaly sites. Józef Kucia submitted changes to the shaders in 3.16 and 3.17, which was around when I started having the problem. I'm not sure if it's a regression, or just work that still needs to be done. I've attached a screenshot to show what it looks like: rather than a haze or gas-cloud effect, the whole site is surrounded by a giant black cube. For example, when changing the selected item, it sends a notification that the old item was deselected, and then sends a notification that the new item has been selected. If an application queries the current selection during the first notification, it will appear that no items are selected. This is different from how Windows behaves, which appears to send notifications only after updating all item states. This breaks the Ancestral Quest program's Changelog feature, though this requires the program to be purchased. Wine1.6 is installed, however, when I start winecfg it show the error of 'gdi32' error (see attachment). I tried the wine1.8 and wine1.9.1 and also tried the ubuntu15.10, winecfg never correctly started. And I also compile the 1.6 and 1.8 from source, it compile right but cannot correctly started with same error. I doubt the driver of my computer or some library of drive corrupt with wine. my system and my computer information is here: I using ubuntu 15.10 newly. I substituted a native DLL of this version and the application now runs successfully. When disabling strict draw ordering, the game performs much faster, but these textures fail to render, or flicker, or flicker in a grid. However, enabling strict draw ordering is a pretty big performance hit (about 15-20 fps hit in most situations) Attached are pictures of two areas both with strict draw ordering and without. Other than that, only corefonts and Nvidia Physx are installed, gameoverlayrenderer.dll is disabled. When I launch the game an empty, black window is opened, titled 'The Bureau: XCOM Declassified (32-bit, DX9)'. The game executable constantly uses 100% CPU, but the game doesn't load. The process has to be killed to quit. Changing Windows profile to Vista or Seven doesn't help. What would happen if you fooled a game that needed 256 colour depth into thinking that's what it is running in while it is actually running at 24bit? I ask this as I am unable to change my colour depth and reduce my resolution below 640x480. And even when I could change my colour depth it meant restarting the X-server. Testing on Lubuntu 11.10 (OpenBox 3.5.0 WM). When the "Allow the window manager to control the windows" option has been disabled using winecfg, the PuTTY terminal window does not receive keyboard input. Instead the console window which you ran putty.exe from receives input. That only applies to the PuTTY terminal window, not the initial settings window. It also only applies when *not* in virtual desktop mode. To reproduce: - Disable "Allow the window manager to control the windows" in winecfg - Download and run putty.exe. The PuTTY Configuration window appears. Note that initially it does not seem to have focus; the window title bar is grey not blue. However the window does actually have focus and receives keyboard input. - Connect to a server. E.g. enter telehack.com for Host Name, Telnet for connection type and click the Open button. - The terminal window appears after a few seconds. It seems to be focused (title bar blue) but even if you click in the window, the characters you type appear in the console. If I've got Steam client window opened on a page where some help tooltips are expected to popup on mouseover's over some UI elements they would popup and show as a top z-order window no matter is the Steam windows currently active one or not. An example how might it look like may be seen in attached screenshot. Easiest page to trigger the bug is the "Game details" view in the games library for the games with "Achievements" available - there would be tooltip popups when moving the mouse pointer over the pictures representing the achievements. This behavior was spotted with wine versions starting at about 1.2-rc1 and up to current 1.2-rc4.
