Mindmap without showing text
This application runs well, but they do not draw text correctly or do not draw
text at all. See the screenshots.
The applications are fast enough to be usable. The strange thing is that in
CrossOver 9.0 that is wine 1.1.34 based. It draws correctly but it is to slow.
I think that could be one of two problems:
* Font engine, due to CrossOver and wine have different ones.
* DIB Engine, maybe the dib engine was changed in recent wine versions and in
CrossOver don't.
Anyone can help me to do further tests in order to this issue be fixed?
Regards

Installed TrackMania United Forever, applied the latest patch (2.11.26).
Started the race. After the countdown, the vehicle turns left as though the
left arrow were pressed and held. After pressing the right arrow, the game
proceeds as usually.
Apart from a flood of fixme's, nothing interesting can be found in the logs.
Using Wine1.8. Tried wine-staging 1.9.3, but the results are exactly the same.
Installing d3d9 by winetricks changes absolutely nothing (but why should it?)

Hello,
this is an old bug but i don't know how to fix it. So I installed the gold
edition and voobly to be able to play multiplayer, used winetricks to install
directplay and msxml 4.0. Everything works fine till I get in the in-game lobby
where I see that my ip is 0.0.0.0 and no other players are able to connect, if
I try to join and existing game it just times out. After some search I found
this: [https://source.winehq.org/patches/data/110549], this nice guy seemed to
provide a solution, so I tried to edit the socket.c file to make it look like
his patch, the thing is that the 4.0.3 socket.c file is a bit different and
almost all the functions have different names so that makes it to difficult to
compare. I'm sorry if this a bad written post and my explanation might be off
but I would like to ask your advice.
Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas,
Miltiades

No matter the release version, I have not seen a .NET 4.x implementation
running on Mac OS in a win64 prefix.
After many attempts, all paths of installing, upgrading, repairing, etc. end
with:
Application: 64-console4.exe\nFramework Version: v4.0.30319\nDescription: The

That memory address is the clr.dll itself.
Is anyone aware of any users ever getting MacOS + win64 + .NET 4.x or later
working with wine?

foobar2000 occasionally starts with a black screen and won't go back to normal
until you delete an (apparently) corrupt configuration file
There is a workaround, involving deleting the file foo_ui_std.dll.cfg from the
foobar2000 configuration directory under "Application Data" in the Wine folder,
and restarting the program.
It has been doing this for at least several versions of both foobar2000
(including the 1.4.x releases and 1.5.x betas) and Wine, but I never got around
to reporting it.
it has happened under Fedora 30 and 31, using GNOME on Wayland, on Intel
Skylake graphics (if that has anything to do with it).
I'll submit a screenshot when it happens again.

Hello,
We are developing an application using Delphi 10 Seattle and we are having some
issues with the FastReport Component with wine in Linux. We are using in
FastReport a component that should display some RTF from Database, a RichEdit
Component and when we want to preview the report the application is freezing
and there is no way to use or even close the application. The entire
application is working perfectly, we are only having problems handling the
RichEdit component from FastReport.
Do you have any idea or some tips for us to fix this problem?
Thank you!

On the main page https://bugs.winehq.org/ there are two links:
- Forgot Password
I mean the actual links and not the buttons.
The "Log In" link has no effect.
The "Forgot Password" link actually changes the "Log In" button above.
Probably those two links are unnecessary. They are confusing at least.
I suggest to either fix them or probably better, remove them.
Cheers, Ingo =;->

With Ubuntu being the most popular distro and Ubuntu having a lot of popular
forks, like Linux Mint, ElementaryOS, and Pop!_OS, it's a good idea to have
individualized instructions for install on these few sub-distros as well.
Reason being: Some sub-distros like ElementaryOS have different software
version dependencies and modified app catalogues when compared to the source OS
Ubuntu.

Summary: StringFormatFlagsNoClip breaks StringAlignmentCenter
and (probably) StringAlignmentFar)
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: gdiplus
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: alexpigna.dev(a)gmail.com
Classification: Unclassified
In method GdipDrawString if StringFormatFlagsNoClip flag is enabled the string
rect width is modified to be very large. This breaks how centered and probably
far alignments are handled since the string will be moved a crazy amount of
pixels to the right.
Since when StringFormatFlagsNoClip is on the clipping region is already
disabled I suspect that modifying the width is not only broken but also
unnecessary. I'm not sure though since I don't know gdiplus code well enough.
Leaving the width as it is fixes the issue for my case: a .net launcher for a
game.

Hello.
When running a wine + a Windows app that uses "make" (and Makefile) there is a
error message and the application fail if wine uses Windows Version: Windows
XP.
----> make: *** windows32_openpipe(): DuplicateHandle(In) failed (e=6)
This not appears if using real Windows XP.
If you use winecfg and set Windows Version: Windows 7 (and up) the problem is
gone.
Thanks.

I'm trying to make Profili 2 Pro work in wine. So far I reached the point where

and looking for the command in that composed path fails (as expected):
Searching in 'L"C:\\ProfiliProV2\\xf.bat C:\\ProfiliProV2\\"' for
'L"XFoil.exe"'
The problem related to wcmdmain.c:wmain(...) around line 2590:
/* strip first and last quote characters if opt_s; check for invalid
* executable is done later */
if (opt_s && *cmd=='\"')
WCMD_strip_quotes(cmd);
before this, cmd is:
"C:\ProfiliProV2\xf.bat" "C:\ProfiliProV2\XFoil.exe"
after this, cmd is
C:\ProfiliProV2\xf.bat" "C:\ProfiliProV2\XFoil.exe
the quotes in the middle remains.
opt_s was not specified, but was triggered on by checks around 2450: there is
at least one quote (pass), there is a second quote(pass) and there is no more
quotes(fail) - the last one fails and sets opt_s. My guess would be that those
checks should be done on first argument, not all of them together.
The xf.bat is very simple wrapper:
%1 <XFoil.cmd >XFoil.out
exit

cTrader is a .NET 4.0 ClickOnce application.
The cTrader installer fails to detect dotnet40 is already installed,
and tries to install it again,
the installer pop up window says "Installing Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client
Profile (x86 and x64)", the progress bar is ticking forward slowly and when the
progress bar has reached 100% is goes down to 0% and this repeats in a loop
without ending. While the installer window is visible no network traffic is
generated.
Packages already installed by winetricks: dotnet40, corefonts, vcrun6, msxml6.
Windows version: 10.

My own code on MS seems to adhere to the notion that if something is in a
finally {} of a try/catch/finally it must always be called unless the program
doesn't continue at all.
On wine though (tested on current -devel and .NET 4.5.2) that doesn't seem to
be the case. Calls inside the finally{} may be ignored or in general be
inconsistent.

Summary: Redirect a device printer port to a print command
(lpr)
Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.48
Hardware: x86

Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: spooler
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org

Sometimes I need to write directly to a print port.
That's because I have a old program that works only with ports named lpt[1-4]
or com[1-4]
I can do it creating a link to my device to the dosdevices folder.
E.g:
ln -s /dev/lp0 ~/wine/dosdevices/lpt1
ln -s /dev/ttyUSB0 ~/.wine/dosdevices/lpt2
Typing commands like echo 'hello' > lpt1 will work great.
There are some cases that my printer is not directly connected to my computer.
By example my Brother DCP-8085DN printer that works over network, a wireless
printer, or same my epson lx300 using lpt1 port but instead is installed on
another computer.
To map this kind of printers I use cups and it work on wine using print dialog
(e.g printing using notepad).
But what about if I need to use my old dos program or would like play around
with wine start.exe program and type commands like echo 'hello' > lpt1
Wine start.exe returns File not found.
Cups doesn't create /dev/xxx devices to printers. So I can't do a link to
dosdevices folder and I have to use the lpr command to print.
One solution is create a file named lpt1 on dosdevices folder and use loop
script in linux cheking for changes and redirect data to lpr.
I can do it easly using the following procedure:
cd ~/.wine/dosdevices
mkfifo lpt1
chmod 666 lpt1
And create a running forever script like:
while true
do
cat ~/.wine/dosdevices/lpt1 | lpr -o raw -P cups_printer_name
done
While this method can work would be great if we could do it only using wine
ways and therefore no need to such script.

Have an task "scanner" read all files in an path.
That software works correctly in WINE development 7.8.

The software start, but in the "scanner" task happen an strange behavior begin
to use more OS memory in each second at point RAM memory is totally used and
after the swap totally too ... resulting in an high not stop disk activity
because the OS not have any memory free available.
The OS is using Kernel 6.00.

I've tried several versions of wine(-staging)
1.9.21-git
1.9.22
1.9.23
all in the staging variant,
currently compiling 1.9.21-staging
and will later try out vanilla 1.9.21 whether it also happens there (highly
probable).
OS is Gentoo ~amd64,
GCC 4.9.4 hardened, binutils 2.27
this also happens with GCC 6.2 hardened
hardened toolchain didn't make a difference in stability and operation before
since flags that break WINE are filtered out automatically.
Last known working and stable combination of using "Sticky Note Tool" (Bubbles
with Text in them) in PDF-XChange Editor and WINE is
WINE 1.9.21 and PDF-XChange Editor 6.0.317.1
all newer versions up to 6.0.319.0 crash while adding annotations and
attempting to add a "Sticky Note"
PDF-XChange Editor 6.0.317.1 and >WINE 1.9.21
while selecting "Sticky Note Tool" and pasting a bubble on the PDF file has a
problem of NOT displaying the content of the sticky note,
also AFTER the sticky note is added to the PDF file after a short amount of
time WINE / the program will crash
Will post stack-traces later when I don't need working WINE
Thanks

So far, I've tested Age of Empires II: The Conquerors 1.0c and Starcraft
Broodwar 1161. They both fail with the same error message:
```
```
Both games work fine in the standalone Xorg server. Neither works, whether I
use weston or sway.
Experimentally, I've determined that the games work in 5.13 and break in 5.14,
so I guess the bug was introduced in version 5.14.

Starting inetcpl.cpl directly via the start command doesn't seem to be possible
in Wine. Running 'wineconsole cmd' and then 'start inetcpl.cpl' from within cmd
gives:
Application could not be started, or no application associated with the
specified file.
ShellExecuteEx failed: File not found
start C:/Windows/system32/inetcpl.cpl gives:
Application could not be started, or no application associated with the
specified file.
ShellExecuteEx failed: Success
Both cases bring up the Internet Options control panel applet on Windows XP.
Just running "wine inetcpl.cpl" also fails, with no output except "Segmentation
fault".

Summary: screen shaders don't work in BigPEmu.exe
Product: Wine
Version: 10.0
Hardware: x86-64
OS: MacOS
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: cemer99797(a)isorax.com
BigPEmu is an Atari Jaguar emulator, it runs Atari Jaguar games fine under Wine
Stable 10.0 on macOS 11. The problem is there is a "screen effects" feature
(which are like screen shaders in RetroArch, used to emulate old CRTs, etc)
which doesn't work. By default, BigPEmu uses OpenGL (BigPEmu main menu > Video
> Video Plugin > BigPEmu_Video_OpenGL) but can also be changed to use D3D12
which will cause it crash at startup on macOS 11.
Steps to reproduce:
1. launch BigPEmu 1.18 with the following options (also opens a console):
wine ~/BigPEmu_v118/BigPEmu.exe * -conout
2. use backspace/enter to navigate backward/forward in BigPEmu, go back to the
main menu, then Video > Screen Effect > choose any screen effect
3. an error message pops up: "Failed to set the selected screen effect. It may
be incompatible with your hardware or video plugin. You can enable logging and
check the log for more details."
4. check the console which shows this error: "[1;31mError: Graphics hardware
isn't equipped to run screen effects. If this error occurs with
SM5.0-compatible hardware, try updating your graphics drivers."

I'm attaching the backtrace.txt generated when it crashes as
backtrace.txt.disco-box. Also, it may be significant that when I first ran the
app on Twenty4, an almost identical backtrace.txt was generated, but despite
the usual definition of insanity, I tried starting it several times and after
three or four attempts it ran without problems.

Hello!
I need to get old 16-bit software editors running on Linux / MacOS.
The programs in question:

X5/D/R)
https://www.jaybmusic.net/Downloads/SED-02W.zip (Korg NS5R Editor)
The problems:
MIDI Out works with no issues. As soon as you open MIDI In it shows a "Not
Enough Memory" error.
The error log says:
00e0:fixme:winmm:MMSYSTDRV_Message NIY: no conversion yet 16->32 kind=1 msg=57
I reported this to the WineVDM project and they included a fix for the
mmsystem.dll16 code:
https://github.com/otya128/winevdm/pull/547/files
Another issue already fixed is linked to the GUI of the NS5R Editor where
window elements overlap and cause the program to crash eventually. This has
also been fixed in the user.dll16 code:
https://github.com/otya128/winevdm/pull/1239/files
Please merge these fixes into the official wine code so we can use these pieces
of old MIDI software properly. Thank you.

Broken native support for comctl32.dll.
This results in a number of popular Windows applications partially, or sometime
totally, not working anymore, such as IrfanView, Faststone Image Viewer, and
XPDF-Xchange viewer.
I confirmed that both wine 2.10 2.13, and 2.14 exhibit the same problem. I
hypothesize that this issue was introduced in wine 2.8 following the changes
for fake dll generation that were announced in
https://www.wine-staging.com/news/2017-05-16-release-2.8.html.
# Reproducing this issue
1. Install 32-bit wine 2.14.
2. Install 32-bit IrfanView 4.44 - latest version as of this writing.
3. Install `winetricks comctl32` - Microsoft COM control DLL 5.8 for Windows
XP, year 2001.
Note: #2 and #3 have worked together for me for all wine versions up to 2.6 (I
skipped 2.8-9, and 2.11-12).
4. Run IrfanView, select menu entry File > Open; IrfanView crashes. Terminal
output shows this message:
```
err:wineboot:ProcessRunKeys Error running cmd
L"C:\\windows\\system32\\winemenubuilder.exe -a -r" (2)
err:module:DelayLoadFailureHook failed to delay load
comctl32.dll.HIMAGELIST_QueryInterface
```
Of course, the Microsoft Windows XP comctl32.dll doesn't implement
HIMAGELIST_QueryInterface, which, according to
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/bb761510(v=vs.85).…
requires at least Windows Vista. The corresponding wine API is documented in
https://source.winehq.org/WineAPI/HIMAGELIST_QueryInterface.html.
Other examples of Windows applications that fail with the same message include:
* PDF-Xchange Viewer version 2.5 - it doesn't start at all.
* FastStone Image Viewer 6.2 - it hangs with an hourglass mouse pointer.
The obvious work-around is not to load the native comctl32.dll and rely
entirely on the built-in dll. While this works, as it has always worked in the
past, the native implementation lacks enough functionality that at least
IrfanView and Faststone image capture do not work well. That is why several
forum threads recommend using Microsoft's comctr32.dll for such applications.
For IrfanView, the impairment is mainly cosmetic, so it can be tolerated.
Faststone Image Capture, however, can't display thumbnails past the first
screenful (about 20-30 pictures) if the native comctl32 DLL isn't loaded.
# Conclusion
IrfanView and other important Windows applications fail to work partially or
entirely when the native comctl32.dll is loaded. Before version wine 2.10
(possibly 2.8) they all worked without a glitch. The native comctl32.dll is
still needed for full application compatibility because the built-in
replacement DLL lacks some functionality (tested with wine 2.14).

Indeed, the file does not exist, but I doubt it is looking in the correct
place.
Workaround is "winetricks dotnet40".
During installation there is another error about NPF not being found; this is
WinPcap and the same occurs on Windows 8.1 - WinPcap simply isn't installed.

Wine Staging 2.21 console output
Under Wine Staging 2.21, SlingPlayer 2.0 crashes in a way that it does not
under vanilla Wine 3.0-rc2.
I tried patching latest git with the dxva2 patches, as that seems to be the
last thing mentioned in the log before the crash but when I did that it doesn't
seem to be used:
0009:trace:loaddll:load_builtin_dll Loaded L"C:\\windows\\system32\\dxva2.dll"
at 0x7c020000: builtin
0009:trace:loaddll:free_modref Unloaded module
L"C:\\windows\\system32\\dxva2.dll" : builtin
I guess something needs setting in the registry or the likes.
To get this far, the following overrides are needed:
WINEARCH=win32 - Bug 35268 / Bug 35276
quartz - Bug 18556
wmp9 - Bug 28669
mf - Bug 44201
The application crashes on load so you do not need a Slingbox to test.
