Program Error from Wine Debugger
Hi!
I tried to update Screamer Radio from "Stable 2024-04-14" to "Stable
2024-04-15" but the updating was interrupted by the attached dialogue.
"Upgrade timed out" showed up in the Screamer Radio tab/bar where I clicked the
Upgrade button made available under the information of radio station.
How to update this software without the aforementioned error?

Good morning! I want to report a bug in your program when using it in the game
Dungeon Siege 2. The characters' weapons move from their hands to their feet,
specifically to the very bottom of their legs (screenshot).
I used the following version of the program: WineD3DForWindows_10.2-staging.
There are many complaints about a similar issue in the comments on Steam under
this game (Dungeon Siege 2) when other people also used the WineD3D
application.
I hope my information is useful and helps to fix this issue.

DW 4 Hyper terminal log with wow64 enabled dynamically
When running with wined3d and a fresh prefix with wow64 there is extreme lag
in-game. I've read that these maybe issues which reveal that this is a problem
with opengl or something but they seem to be old and there seems to be only one
or two of those reports.
It's my first time making a report here so I'm happy for any improvements to my
bug reporting and if there's more information needed I'll be happy to oblige.

My program uses WaitForMultipleObjects to monitor multiple pipes. It runs
normally in a Windows environment, but under Wine, after running for some time,
WaitForMultipleObjects stops working. When data is written to the pipe, it does
not return, and simultaneously, the Wine debug log reports the following error:

I am trying to work with a third-party tool that use Microsoft's Detours
Library:

does not work correctly when run under Wine.

Helpfully, Detours includes with a sample application `withdll.exe` that
utilises the `DetourCreateProcessWithDllEx` API:

I built Detours from git (fe7216c037c898b1f65330eda85e6146b6e3cb85) on Windows
10 (19042.1052) using MSVC 19.29.30038.1; this gave me the resulting binaries
`withdll.exe` and `simple64.dll`. Running `withdll.exe` to inject
`simple64.dll` on Windows 10 gives:

Hello,
I have one more issue or rather an annoyance regarding the use of virtual
desktop since Wine-10.5.
When I set up a virtual desktop in winecfg that matches the size of my screen
(1440X900) and I start a game that uses a lower resolution (640X480, 800X600
etc) then the game appears in the upper left corner but the rest of the virtual
desktop is black. In other words the virtual desktop isn't resized to match the
game resolution.
The problem doesn't occur when I start the game in virtual desktop sized
smaller than my desktop (1024X768 etc).
Reverting the following commit restores the old behavior for me:

winex11: Use the state tracker for the desktop window _NET_WM_STATE.
The issue is somewhat similar to bug #56149.
You can reproduce the problem with Airline Tycoon demo. The game uses a fixed
640X480 resolution.

Comparison builtin gdiplus vs native gdiplus
Certain graphs (e.g. box plots) and graph components (e.g. axes) are not
rendered while using builtin gdiplus. This happens irrespective of the OS and
is solved when using native gdiplus (see attached examples).
The problem can be observed using this software:

In some types of file selection dialog, there is no parent button. The
equivalent dialog in Windows XP does have a parent button, which makes
navigating the directory tree much easier.
If the program opens a selection dialog positioned in a subdirectory, to
navigate to the parent you need to use the treeview on the left side to
navigate down the directory hierarchy instead.
I noticed this while testing WinUAE, but presumably any program which uses the
same type of dialog will be similar.
- Download and run the WinUAE installer. Check the box to run the program at
the end.
- When the WinUAE Properties window appears, click ROM in the treeview then
click one of the "..." buttons to show a file selection dialog. There is no
parent button in the dialog. (There is also no indication of where in the
directory tree the current view is.)

The issue seems to be absent in 5.11 and present in 5.12. Git bisect resulted
in commit 57124b9905bbdedfdd0bca777481d570ffa1769a
Setting UseTakeFocus to N successfully works around the issue, which led me to
believe it might be https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48121 but the PoC
attached there still works properly in the virtual desktop (and the behaviour
without the virtual desktop seems unchanged).
I couldn't find a free Unity game which replicates the issue.

Proof of concept patch
I've tested with both stable and staging, neither gets unity to fire
OnApplicationFocus and OnApplicationPause events on focus regain. I've tracked
this down by reverse engineering the native unity binary.
There are 4 window messages to which the unity engine reacts by firing these
internal events. They are:
1. WM_SIZE (when wParam == 0 && unity's window is active)
2. WM_EXITSIZEMOVE
3. WM_NCPOINTERUP
4. WM_NCPOINTERDOWN (when DragDetect() says the pointer is in bounds for the
window; pointer coordinates are passed in lparam)
Of all these events, it seems to me, that the ones we should be firing and are
not currently, are WM_NCPOINTERUP and WM_NCPOINTERDOWN.
I was not sure how to get the pointer coordinates, but I was able to confirm
this finding, by firing WM_NCPOINTERUP with wparam=0, lparam=0 on focus regain
because that event had no such bounds check in the unity engine code. With this
change, my target application indeed unpauses.
Observing the issue is fairly easy,

So basically the normal behavior is that if you hold CTRL in the playlist and
scroll the mouse wheel, it only zooms and doesen't scroll, but after Wine 10.4
the bug started appearing and instead of only zooming, it also started to
scroll up and down.
I've also just tested on Windows and it works correctly, so it's not a mouse
problem, I've also tested on 2 different distros with Wine 10.4 and 10.5 and I
have the same issue on both of them.
In the video that I've attached I was holding CTRL all the time, and as you can
see it zooms in the playlist, but it also scrolls vertically, which it
shouldn't, it should only scroll vertically when I'm NOT holding down CTRL.
My system info:
NVIDIA rtx 4060 with 570.133 drivers (latest arivers at the moment)
Wayland + xwayland for Wine
