Summary: Clicking Open in Sound Forge 4.5 Open file dialog does
nothing
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-gui
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: vesuri(a)jormas.com
To reproduce:
1. Install a version of Sound Forge (4.5 or newer)
2. Select File->Open
3. Select a valid WAV file
4. Click Open
5. Nothing happens - the Open dialog should close and the file should be opened
Sound Forge has a custom Open file dialog that includes information about the
selected file in addition to the default controls.
I debugged this problem and found out that this happens because
FILEDLG95_OnOpen() calls FILEDLG95_SendFileOK() which in turn sends a
notification message to the application by calling
SendCustomDlgNotificationMessage(hwnd,CDN_FILEOK). For some reason Sound Forge
does not like the information entered into the Open file dialog so
GetWindowLongW(fodInfos->DlgInfos.hwndCustomDlg, DWL_MSGRESULT) gets a non-zero
return value causing FILEDLG95_SendFileOK() to cancel the operation by returning
FALSE. If I remove the FILEDLG95_SendFileOK() call completely from
FILEDLG95_OnOpen() Sound Forge will open the file just fine.

At the moment I haven't been able to find docs on the parameters that go under
the [clipboard] section on the config. Since cut and past into notes doesn't
work out of the box without tweaking these settings, it would be nice to know
exactly what they do :-)

Summary: LocalSize()/GlobalSize() return wrong size!
Product: Wine

Component: wine-misc

LocalSize()/GlobalSize() return the wrong number of allocate bytes. They should
return the exact same number as allocated, not round up. To reproduce run the
reactos' version of regedit and edit a dword value, it should only display 4
bytes as can be seen in windows. in ReactOS/wine it however displays too many
byte (because of the wrong reported allocated size.

------- Additional Comments From jlh(a)gmx.ch 2005-31-01 12:35 -------
I confirm the problem: Shareaza 2.1 (www.shareaza.com) doesn't work with
wine 20050111 anymore; it hangs at the splash screen displaying
"Starting GUI".
I did a binary search on the cvs as suggested above and isolated the
change that causes the problem. At 2005-01-10 15:25:30 GMT+1, the file
"dlls/comctl32/header.c" went from revision 1.68 to 1.69 and introduced
the problem. (Other files got modified in the minutes before and after,
but it's this one that introduces the problem.) From the log:
----------------------------
revision 1.69
date: 2005-01-10 15:25:30 +0100; author: julliard; state: Exp; lines: +34 -20
Evan Deaubl <wine(a)warpedview.com>
GetItemA/W on header controls should handle message even if index is invalid.
----------------------------
I didn't try to narrow it down further, as the difference between the
two revision isn't large, and I didn't try to investigate further, as I
don't have much clue about what this piece of code does. But I hope
this helps some developer to solve the problem.
Note: I also compiled the cvs HEAD with only the mentioned file put back
to revision 1.68, and that worked fine with Shareaza. (Actually, I mean
"HEAD" in the context of full-cvs-2005-01-29.tar.gz)

Summary: fail to run Notes R5 since upgrade from 20041201 to

Version: 20050111
Platform: PC

Status: UNCONFIRMED

Component: wine-binary
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: mseewald(a)gmx.de
Dear Wine developers,
I was running Lotus Notes R5 without any problems on Wine 20041201. My system is
a Intel laptop with Fedora Core 3, kernel 2.6.9-1.681_FC3 (i686). Wine was set
up using winetools.
Since the upgrade to 20050111, Lotus Notes R5 fails to start. I also tried to
rebuilt my .wine from scratch (no change).
Upon startup I see:

Try putting d3d8.dll or d3d9.dll in you wine windows system32 directory, you
can also change the directX version in the registery.
The only other way I've seen that application detect directX is by seeing if
CreateD3DDevice8/9 failes which it shouldn't unless there's something wrong
with you wine build.
