hi, i just tried this app but i can not reproduce your error messages. I only get:
fixme:urlmon:InternetProtocolSink_ReportResult (0x7feec2f8)->(00000000 0 (null))
But then nothing happens, and i can not open any menu from the GUI. Using native
oleaut32 (WINEDLLOVERRIDES="oleut32=n" wine poker.exe) brings up the login
window, which seems to work. Maybe you have to login first before you can use
the menu's, i dunno.
Googling for d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000 shows up Macromedia
shockwave/flash player. Are you ,by any chance, using native dlls? If so, try to
use builtin first please, or just try how far you get with only native
oleaut32.dll. Regards

Summary: ABBBY FineReader Professional 7.0 does not ask for
serial number on install
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9. 9.
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: wine-msi

ReportedBy: nekohayo(a)gmail.com
When installing the CD version of Finereader 7.0, when running
wine setup.exe
Please see http://public.nanokron.info/finereader-screenshots.tar for the
complete installation process screenshots on a "normal" windows XP machine.
Some windows are skipped (#3, #4, #5), and so you are not asked for your serial
number. Later on, the installer complains that the serial number you gave was
invalid.
When running it with wine, I notice that the #3 window appears for a fraction of
second, disappears then it skips directly to #6.
In order to be able to properly run setup.exe on wine 0.9.9, I was suggested
this: add the following to ~/.wine/system.reg, at the end
[Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Installer] 1142434880
"InstallerLocation"="c:\\windows\\system32\\"
The setup files for FineReader 7.0 Pro will be provided on demand.

with wine from cvs on 2006 march 10,
putty has a funny problem that is not apparant
on first few uses. It feels as if you
forgot to click the 'open' button.
When you click again, it works. But
really all you have to do is move the
mouse slightly, and the open button fires
its action and opens the session window.
So some event handling is messed up somewhere.

tested in this bug) or not, and that you have the latest version of Wine. If it
doesn't work, write to wine-users before logging a new bug.

Patch to recognize VK_LMENU and VK_RMENU in alt-key combos
This patch looks for VK_LMENU and VK_RMENU in addition to VK_MENU when dealing
with ALT-key combo messages. This is the easiest way to add this functionality,
but arguably not the cleanest.

This may actually have been a ALSA driver issue. Troubleshooting another game i
had switched the sound drivers to OSS. I left them there and now I am not
getting the SegFaults anymore (it had been ~5-6 minutes into the game). Demo
works just fine as well. I will keep testing to see if it was just the ALSA issue.

Robert Sherman said in
http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-devel/2006-March/045564.html
"The fix is to do the following in the conversion loop in ITypeInfo::Invoke:
if (rgvt[i] == VT_VARIANT)
VariantCopy(&rgvarg[i], src_arg);
else if ((rgvt[i] & VT_BYREF) && !V_ISBYREF(src_arg))

I don't have time to put this into patch form and test it, but hopefully
someone else will."
If anyone does this, please also add a conformance test that

Wine has its own version of MSI. You should not need to be using the Microsoft
version. Wine 9.1 is not really current but I see from the download section that
this is the most current package that is available for Solarus. Perhaps you can
compile it yourself.
see:
http://www.blastwave.org/wine/winemaking.html or
http://wiki.jswindle.com/index.php/Installing_Wine#Solaris
You could also contact Robert Lunnon solaris.wine(a)optusnet.com.au the author of
the Solarus packages and see if he is willing to update them.

A second "LocalFree()" on a memory-handle corrupt our Heap, but is detected and
handled graceful in windows.
(I need to move this Part of my tests to "dlls/kernel/tests/heap.c")
Your source is similar to the relevant code from NoteXpad, but you use
LocalReAlloc() after EM_SETHANDLE.
> when handling the EM_SETHANDLE message the current code frees the old memory
This is not the case according to a simple test. (we free the internal UNICODE
copy of the ANSI-Data)
I need to learn more about the internal behavior of the edit-control first.

If you are doing regression testing you should be using either CVS or GIT not
the packages. There are tarballs of wine source going back to 0.9 which you can
compile yourself as well if you want to.
http://ibiblio.org/pub/linux/system/emulators/wine/
However that is unnessary since I can confirm that the patch that Louis found is
indeed the one that causes the message to appear.

As a side question were you able to actually run the game in a previous release.
I have tested it as far back as Wine 0.9.0 and it brings up the main menu but I
am unable to actually start a game.
