Cedega is now able to run it by uncommenting "MemoryLayoutOverride" =
"0x10000000" in their config file. Somebody most likely knows what this
actually does.

Isnt half the problem answered by the quote in MSDN "If an application sets
the nWidth ***or*** nHeight parameters to zero, CreateCompatibleBitmap returns
the handle to a 1-by-1 pixel, monochrome bitmap." - In most (but not all)
fixmes, one of the width or height is 0, in which case the other should be
ignored and a 1x1 pixel bitmap returned?
(I have a memory of someone saying this on wine-devel, but maybe I'm wrong)

i was not able to find something useful in the backtrace yet :/
at one point in time I think it raises an exception during Lotus Notes

The original cause of this is unknown.
The debug dumping then fails with a c00000005 (segfault) which leads to
abort of Notes. :/

your relay+all log looks interesting.
> I wasn't sure how to get the necessary backtrace using winedbg - WolfSP didn't
> seem to want to run under the debugger.
hmmm. I am not sure the backtraces will help us, but have you tried this:
$ winedbg /.../WolfSP.exe
Wine-dbg>info thread
Wine-dbg>cont
Wine-dbg>info thread (execute this when the game gets crashed)
Wine-dbg>bt all (BackTrace All threads, it sometimes doesn't work for me)
by observing "ntdll.gcc32.partial.log" and "trace.all.gcc32.partial.log" I
conclude, that every time game crashes you get very different traces.
if your CW is still on a disk, I recommend checking this by doing several times
one of the following:
* logging the output of "Wine-dbg>bt all"
* logging the tail of "+ntdll" output
* logging the tail of "trace+all" output
BTW, in opposition to what Dustin says, I think the formula -900/+10 is more
effective, as we aren't interested in the traces of "winedbg" process itself,
IMHO. :-P

Summary: World of Warcraft broken again (1.5.1)

Component: wine-misc

With the new 1.5.1 patch, WoW is broken again. The problem this time is that
it's impossible to click on any players or npcs in game unless your camera is
adjusted perfectly. Happens on wine and cedega, in opengl mode and d3d mode. I
see nothing in the trace that's unusual, but I could be missing something.
Someone else can probably provide more info.

Any other logs to generate?
I need to delete wolfenstein soon to make space for HL2 -
I have to retest how far the msi work has gotten,
and when Oliver's patches get in (if Oliver's patches
ever get in) test d3d status.
I already beat the game yet again, despite having to load
it almost every time I die (which is around every corner -
wolfenstein's a pretty unbalanced game).

(I hope I don't sound pushing but..) any news on this? I see my patch wasn't
applied - should I re-submit it with that one #define from user_private.h copied
over instead of the include, since that seems to be the only complaint?
Or should one of my two alternate solutions be implemented, or something else?
(Again, sorry if I sound pushing, just curious if anything has been going on
with this in the last two weeks. I have used my patched version since then, and
it fixes the keyboard problems, so maybe I should be applied at least
temporarily so it is in the next release? Can then always replace it with a
non-workaround solution later..)

i reviewed the full log offline ...
and I dont really see the place of failure. at one point
it starts querying debug/crash related environment variables, but
no crash is seen before.

can you look for the first instance of:
ntdll.NtReadVirtualMemory
inb the trace and quote 2000 lines before the first call?
(should still be before the stuff in logfile5).
Or how large is the logfile wghen bzip2 compressed, I could download it whole

Hi. I've generated more logs, this time
with the latest wine compiled with gcc32.
New logs:
==========
file.gcc32.log
file.gcc32.partial.log
mmtime.gcc32.log
module.gcc32.log
ntdll.gcc32.log
ntdll.gcc32.partial.log
trace.all.gcc32.log
trace.all.gcc32.partial.log
warn.all.gcc32.log
warn.all.gcc32.partial.log
All logs can be found here: http://ivan.ivg2.net/wolf/
I wasn't sure how to get the necessary backtrace using winedbg -
WolfSP didn't seem to want to run under the debugger.

If you upgrade to latest CVS and re-start 'wineprefixcreate', you should have a
list of service providers installed on your box.
Then, it will still not work properly as Wine does not implement any of these
service providers (you can find them in a 'real' DirectX install) but it may
prevent the application to crash.

Hi there and Yes, we are looking at the same thing, happens exactly that way,and
if you go back in CVS time to the patch just before 2005-01-14 13:54:39 CST , it
works perfectly, no need to build the hardware to see if it works, but if you
are interested in it you have to go to freescale.com and download a datasheet
for MC68HC08JL/JK or MC68HC08QT/QY microcontroller series, and detailed
instructions and schematics are in the development support section, the circuits
are rather simple.
Thax for the help about accessing ports in c and debugging in wine, it will come
handy to me, and hope I can give use to it soon...
Regards

While you wait for gcc 4 getting fixed this may help (assuming
you're running Fedora Core):
wine # yum install gcc32
wine # CC=gcc32 && ./configure && make depend && make

One more thing - the version says CVS, and this is CVS,
but getting slightly old now - I have to deal with an internal gcc bug,
before I can compile the latest wine. It's reasonably recent, however.
Memtest86+? No, since my computer was broken until recently,
and would die during memtest for power supply reasons. I've
fixed that now, and I can go check - I really doubt that
the problem is memory-related.
I'll try the rest of your suggestions after work today...

Thank you very much that you are ready to help.
I stoped to try some months ago because I gave up hope.
Some people wrote me that I should use winehq with original windows libraries to
run this software - but this is not my target - I want to run this software
without need of installing windows.
There is no demo version of this software accesible for downloading - at least
for now.
I will contact the author and ask them to make demo version accesible.
I think such version may be useful for testing purposes.
Indepedently, I will get the latest version winehq and try to run this software
again.
Thank you again

As an unskilled developer, I suggest you toying with such debug flags:
+mmtime
+ntdll
+file
+module
or even this:
warn+all
BTW, it would be nice to exclude some often repeating calls from the relay log.
I did this in my ~/.wine/config file some time ago:
[Debug]
"RelayExclude" =
"RtlEnterCriticalSection;RtlLeaveCriticalSection;_EnterSysLevel;_LeaveSysLevel;GDI_GetObjPtr;GDI_ReleaseObj;GetStockObject"
Maybe add ";RtlAllocateHeap;RtlFreeHeap" for your case.
