When I launch Wabbitemu (http://wabbit.codeplex.com/), the software launches,
but there is two bugs : the first is that the skin (of the virtual calculator)
don't appear like in windows, the second problem is that the emulation doesn't
start and when you click on the windows, the program closes unexpectly.
So I can't use the software as I wanted to.
Please fix it, thanks

I tried it out on vanilla wine from today's git on a 750MHz laptop
with 384MB of RAM (hot stuff back in the day :-).
The app seemed quite sluggish, and indeed, I was
unable to join any chat rooms; when I tried, after
ten seconds or so I got a chime noise that sounded like
I had joined something, but nothing changed on the screen.
There are also rendering anomolies in the genre selection
list (sometimes items are shown under the wrong parent until
you refresh).
The app seems to use lots of embedded browser stuff,
so I'm filing this under shdocvw as a wild guess.

First off, Tribes Ascend is FreeToPlay, so you can download it and test easily.
Launch the installer in a fresh prefix. Go through the install steps.
Once the files are copied, it hits a spot where it will spew out
err:ole:NDRCContextBinding invalid handle 0x2c02698
a lot.
The installer exits with
err:mscoree:expect_no_runtimes Process exited with a Mono runtime loaded.
It is probably completely unrelated.

I am currently testing two 64-bit games that use Unreal Engine 4 in Wine
1.9.12: The Solus Project and The Flame in the Flood.
Both of these games are 64-bit only so 32-bit tests will not apply to these
games. Both are being ran in clean 64-bit prefixed set in Windows 7.
When these games crash they do not leave any backtraces.

Summary: wininet:url regression caused by new cross-compiler
Product: Wine

Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: fgouget(a)codeweavers.com
The WineHQ upgrade changed the cross-compiler used to generate the reference
WineTest executables. Since the upgrade the wininet:url 32 bit test has these
failures on Windows XP + Internet Explorer 6:
url.c:507: Test failed: InternetCrackUrl returned 0 with GLE=87 (expected to
return 0 and ERROR_INVALID_HANDLE or ERROR_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER)
url.c:521: Test failed: InternetCrackUrl failed with 87
url.c:522: Test failed: lpszScheme was "" instead of "about"
url.c:523: Test failed: lpszHostName was "" instead of "host"
url.c:524: Test failed: lpszUrlPath was "`ù"" instead of "/blank"
See:
https://test.winehq.org/data/tests/wininet:url.htmlhttps://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-devel/2016-March/112371.html
I can reproduce the problem with this compiler:
$ i686-w64-mingw32-gcc --version
i686-w64-mingw32-gcc (GCC) 5.3.1 20160205
But if I recompile the tests with -O0 the failures go away which points to a
compiler bug.
We need to either:
* Switch to a non buggy compiler to build the reference WineTest executables.
(which might involve reporting the bug in the first place)
* Add 'CFLAGS = -g -O0' to the test's Makefile.in as a workaround.
(preferably once we can point to a relevant compiler bug)
* Find some other nicer workaround in the C file.

Summary: Pasting into IDA Pro stops working on macOS
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Hardware: x86
OS: Mac OS X
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: winemac.drv
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: vit9696(a)avp.su
There already is a report regarding a regression introduced in the recent wine
versions (somewhere after 1.9.15) regarding IDA Pro clipboard issues #41710.
However, there is one more winemac-specific bug, existing in all known wine
versions of at least 1.9.x branch. Basically IDA stops receiving macOS clips
after anything is copied from IDA to macOS.
To reproduce this the following steps need to be performed:
1. Load any binary (e.g. by dragging it into IDA window);
2. Select any text and press Ctrl+C;
3. Paste it anywhere on your mac (e.g. press Cmd+V in TextEdit.app);
4. Now select any other text in a native app and copy it (e.g. press Cmd+C in
TextEdit.app);
5. Paste this text into any field in IDA (e.g. press g, then Ctrl+V).
What will happen at the 5th step is IDA getting data copied at the 2nd step
instead of the 4th.
Newer wine versions might additionally cause a crash at the 2nd step (due to
#41710). Older wine versions (e.g. 1.9.15) have no such issue.

This is probably a regression.
I haven't used Naturally Speaking 12.0 in a couple of weeks, and have noticed
two wine updates since then coming through the Ubuntu ppa servers, both almost
back-to-back.
I tried it this morning and had a timeout error.
Here is the relevant section:

AFAIK I am unable to do regression testing since I run a 64-bit system and have

I used "wintricks ie8" to install IE8, then winecfg to removed the "wininet"
override.
That used to work for Skype to install and run mostly fine.
Since the referenced commit however, the override "shlwapi" needs to be removed
as well, to avoid a deadlock. It should work despite this override, like it did
before the regression.

acquired by Americas Cardroom in 2011. Americas Cardroom has a working download

I doubt it's the same version (and possibly not even the same app) this bug was

Still present in 2.0-rc1. The console has error messages about missing

the redraw issue.
I tested the Business Edition demo from the link in comment 22 because the

Elona game can't properly exit and crashes. It stays in frozen state for a
while until 'Program error' windows appears.
In attachment you can find full log from game start to exit. I just started it
and immediately quit.
Attempt to close it by Alt+F4 gives similar results.
Exit in this game is the only reliable way to invoke 'game save' without cheats
or using no-turning-back items.

After reverting that commit and it's child

On Windows, when a dialog box pops up, pressing Ctrl+C copies the text of that
box into the clipboard so you could paste it in pure text. Here is a more
detailed description:
http://www.nilpo.com/2009/01/windows-xp/copy-text-from-error-message-dialog…
In Wine, however, pressing Ctrl+C when a dialog box is displayed does nothing
at all. Nothing is placed in the clipboard.
This feature would be a real time saver. In my case, I'm compiling a set of
documentation for one program, and it provides some documentation only in the
form of dialog boxes. Copying it all letter by letter would take hours if not
days, while on Windows it takes just a few minutes. Not to mention that direct
copies assure that you get exactly what is written in the dialog box without
spelling mistakes, which is especially important when copying error codes
(where characters such as O/0 are easy to confuse).

In Wine 1.7.51 (and earlier), with games made in Game Maker (including but not
limited to 8.1 Standard), some key mappings do not work as intended.
For example, a game that uses the Z key works fine on Windows but on Mac,
hitting the key does absolutely nothing.
The only exception I can tell as of the moment is that the ESC key works as
intended and is able to quit the given program successfully.
I tested three different games made by different people, so I believe that this
is not limited to a specific game but may affect multiple games made using the
engine. Some of the games were made with newer versions of Game Maker (Studio)
while others were made with older versions (8.1 Standard).

In Guild Wars 2 I experience periods when the game starts to lag and stutter so
badly that I can't move or take any action. FPS will drop to 1-2 and even sound
will stutter. With normal wine, this also heavily affected the intro video
after character creation to the point several of the voiced lines were
unrecognizable.
While lowering graphics will increase FPS in normal periods, it has no effect
on stuttering periods or the frequency of their occurring..
The issue might possibly be related to sound, as I noticed several times that
stuttering seems to coincide with a sound effect being played for the first
time, or a character starting to talk for the first time. Other times however
it seems to not coincide with any sound events noticeable to me.
As suggested, switched to wine-staging and enabled CSMT. Results:
- Intro video is not affected anymore
- Stuttering periods appear less frequently, but they still do, and when they
do they still make the game unplayable until they end.
As suggested, also added a registry entry specifying my video memory, but this
had zero visible effect.
Using proprietary nVidia drivers.

Summary: German-English dictionary won't run using Wine
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2

I'm trying to use Wine to get an old German-English dictionary working called
Duden Oxford Großwörterbuch Englisch (Version 2.0 mit Plus-Paket).
It's outdated, but the interface and search features are excellent, plus you
can create your own user dictionaries, so I'm keen to get this dictionary
working with Wine. Plus there's no more recent version of this dictionary on CD
as far as I can tell after much Googling.
This dictionary used to work fine years ago on Win XP.
After installing the dictionary interface (which is called PC-Bibliothek 2.0),
you then have to install the dictionary (i.e. the German/English) content into
the interface. Before the dictionary content is imported you have to enter a CD
key, which appears on the back of the CD case (this is in the format
X1XX-XXXX-XXXX, where X represents a letter and 1 a digit).
This works fine in a native XP installation, but when using Wine the computer
hangs. The dialog box tells me (in German) that the CD key is being checked,
but the computer hangs and no progress is made. I then have to close the
program using the System Monitor.
I've tried using all sorts of Wine OS options: Win 3.1, 95, 98, NT, XP, Vista,
7, 8 -- this dictionary doesn't run with any of these OSes.
I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
I've tried to install this dictionary using Wine 1.6.2, but apparently this
version of Wine is outdated. I've tried installing Wine 1.8.5 from Wine HQ but
without success. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, but version 1.8.5 appears
to install, but then I can't find it anywhere on my computer and have no idea
how to open it (there's no "Configure Wine" icon as with version 1.6.2).
Btw, WineTricks doesn't help in any way to install this dictionary.

I'm trying to get Hearthstone Deck Tracker (HDT) to work in wine. Hearthstone
is running perfectly.
>HDT requires dotnet 4.5 so I have created a 32 bit prefix for HDT:
export WINEARCH=win32 && WINEPREFIX=/home/justin/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/HS_32
winecfg
>I set the Windows version to 7
>I install dotnet through PlayonLinux and the following Dotnet versions have been installed: 1.1sp1, 2.0sp2, 3.0sp2, 3.5sp1, 4Client, 4Full, 4.5. I have verified each of these installs with the microsoft verification utility and verification is successful with all.
>I then try to run HDT in the prefix as follows:
WINEPREFIX="/home/justin/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/HS_32" wine "Hearthstone Deck

The returned error message is as follows:

Summary: Dungeon Keeper 2: panning right and down is
uncontrollably fast
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.44
Platform: x86
URL: http://digiex.net/downloads/download-center-2-0/games-
downloads/159-dungeon-keeper-2-full-version-1-7-a.html
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: olerass(a)gmail.com
This issue occurs only with Hardware Acceleration set to ON in the game.
When panning by moving the mouse to the screen-edges, the game will pan very
very fast if the cursor is moved to the right of bottom of the screen. It will
almost pan the entire map instantly. When doing it to the left or up it's at
completely normal speed.
I have a feeling this is maybe related to the other mouse issues in this game.
Particularly the issue with the cursor hitting "invisible boxes" at the bottom
right corner of the screen. You have to move the cursor to the far left and far
top of the screen a couple of times for these "invisible boxes" to disappear.
Running current git (1.1.44) on Arch Linux x32 with Radeon HD4890 with catalyst
10.3 driver.

winspool.drv: Clear last error when creating mutex
WINSPOOL_LoadSystemPrinters creates a unique mutex and then checks if
GetLastError is ERROR_ALREADY_EXISTS. Running 1.9.23 with staging or
unpatched, and current -HEAD, I'm seeing a race where sometimes a stale error
is left and it returns ERROR_ALREADY_EXISTS due to another component. This
causes printing to always fail on my machine, since CUPS_LoadPrinters is never
called and therefore no printers exist.
This one-line patch has allowed printing to work on my system and still guards
against multiple initialisations.

Once the wine error log is closed the game window just stays black and a small
error message appears on top of it, however the game's music keeps playing.

xigncode / ntqueryvirtualmemory fixme (blocking progress)
Black Desert Online
I am having trouble getting past "Xigncode" authentication, because of the
fixme attached to this bug report. I have tried very hard, on my own, to fix
it.. but it is beyond my skills. My best suggestion is: Try integrating the
NtQueryVirtualMemory from ReactOS (which may be a more full implementation, and
may compensate for what WINE lacks) into WINE. Here's what I've tried so far to
get past Xigncode:
1. Virtual Machines
VirtualBox/Vmware - Themida error
KVM/Qemu with Spice - works somewhat, actually launches the game but doesn't
have proper 3d acceleration
2. Wine Staging Latest (or variants) - xigncode never works, I even admittedly
tried a hack to get past it.. it still failed, couldn't get it to pass.
3. CrossOver Wine - same thing as Wine Staging, not surprising (but if wine is
fixed, then CrossOver will work too)
I've tried everything, and So far I've been playing the game on Windows 10...
but I really want to play on Linux!
Black Desert is an insanely popular game... it will do much for WINE/Linux and
CrossOver too if it runs on Linux! So I'm asking that you do your best to fix
this bug, thank you.

Guild of Dungeoneering is an Adobe AIR-based game which refuses to progress
beyond an empty black window on a fresh Wine 1.9.24 prefix and appears to
consume all idle CPU time while doing so. (But without fighting with other
applications to consume an entire core as is more common)
However, it will run perfectly under wine-staging 1.9.23 with CSMT enabled and,
with CSMT disabled, will scramble up the draw order, resulting in flickering
and invisible UI elements.
I've tested both 32-bit and 64-bit Wine prefixes and it appears to make no
difference aside from the 64-bit prefix adding a crash on exit.
I don't know which kinds of logs would be appropriate to attach in a situation
like this.

I am running some tests on Necropolis when it's being ran in DirectX 11 mode.
Obviously, the game is going to have issues with DirectX 11 at the moment but I
did notice some interesting terminal output that I have not seen in some of the
other DirectX 11 games I've been testing in Wine.
Apart from the usual spam of these two lines:
fixme:d3d11:d3d11_immediate_context_OMSetBlendState Per-rendertarget blend not
implemented.
fixme:d3d11:d3d11_immediate_context_OMSetBlendState Color mask > 3 not
implemented.
this line shows up occasionally:
fixme:d3d11:d3d11_immediate_context_OMSetDepthStencilState Two-sided stencil
testing not supported.
fixme:d3d11:d3d11_immediate_context_OMSetDepthStencilState Two-sided stencil
testing not supported.
in the terminal.
I am currently running the game in Wine 1.9.15-132-g0f2a776 in Windows 7 mode.

The problem arises on a laptop with Intel i7-5500U processor (HD 5500 Graphics)
+ Nvidia GeForce 940M.
OS: Arch Linux with linux 4.6.2-1-zen.
Regular Xorg Intel drivers are installed (xf86-video-intel
1:2.99.917+662+gb617f80-1) + Nvidia drivers with Bumblebee.
Using
Option "DRI" "3"
in xorg.conf as extra parameter in Intel card.
Now the problem:
Touhou 6 runs at 20 fps.
Touhou 7 runs at 20 fps.
Touhou 8 runs at 30 fps.
Touhou 9 runs flawlessly at 60 fps [!!!].
Touhou 10 runs at 30 fps.
Touhou 11 runs at 30 fps.
The same problem persists when running Touhou 8 and 10 on the same hardware
with Debian 8.
To make things even crazier I tried running these games on virtualized Debian
(Virtualbox 5.0.20-1) on the same Arch Linux on the same macchine and could
get:
Touhou 6 -> 60 fps in menu with broken keyboard input.
Touhou 7 -> 60 fps in menu with broken keyboard input.
Touhou 8 -> 60 fps in menu, 40 fps in game with broken keyboard input.
Touhou 9 -> still working perfectly.
Touhou 10 -> 60 fps in menu, 40 fps in game with broken keyboard input.
Touhou 11 -> 45 fps in menu, 30 fps in game.
that's wine output of a regular run:
$ wine th08.exe
fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x32f8a4,0x00000000), stub!
fixme:win:WINNLSEnableIME hwnd (nil) enable 1: stub!
$
Other things tried but got no improvements in fps:
- Changing kernel from standard arch to zen;
- run with nvidia (optimus, primus), nouveau;
- tweaking with xorg.conf changing parameters on graphic cards;
- renicing;
- changing cpu governor settings;
- changing scheduling settings;
- replacing wine d3dx9_36, d3dx9_37, d3dx9_43 with windows files.

When attempting to launch DDB, it creates a system tray icon and attempts to

This issue has been around for a while, and probably affects bug #29412 and bug
#35281. But DDBST is utterly unusable because of it.

Running a simple ls -l from the UWIN (Unix emulation on Windows) toolkit
in wine gives a lot of warnings.
The goal is to use WINE for automated testing without having to fire up a full
blown Windows system each time in VMware or real iron.
Steps to test:
1. Install UWIN:

It is an old and stagnated version of Pysol, PySolFC v.2.0 (December 04, 2009).
http://pysolfc.sourceforge.net/
Playable both natively on linux and wine, however on Wine there are issues.
Animations, an important part of the games are broken and cause problems in
some of the supported games.
For example, hinting does not work (visually).
Another example in memory type games, clicking the second card flashes too fast
so they are unplayable.

I believe this is all about bcrypt dll causing issues, as per my understanding,
bcrypt is being used to identify files/errors so game every time doesn't start
and shows "game is corrupted, please fix using Origin".
I've also tried pirated version for debugging (easier to debug, no browser no
plugins no origin needed) - same issue with the same output.

I send first patches for this bug, but it is not fixed yet.
The message in the Popup-Window should only contain:
"Installation successful."
This part "Procedure not found." is a different issue in wine.

Doesn't display current data connections(in data connection window) nor will it
allow you to create one. On the first step of selecting the file with which to
make the connection, when you locate then select the workbook it's file name
does not even appear in the "filename" box, so you can't select it.

Tests for FindFirstFile
I hacked the FindFirstFile + FindNextFile from Wine into a stand-alone program
(attached) to see where the bug lies. This test shows that the Wine functions
work exactly the same on Wine and Windows, which means that the problem is in
the implementation of FindFirstFile (or FindNextFile) and not in any of the
other places.
My test output on Windows:
RtlGetFullPathName_U: '*.' -> 'Z:\7961\*'
RtlDosPathNameToNtPathName_U: '*.' -> '\??\Z:\7961\*'
RtlGetFullPathName_U: '*. ' -> 'Z:\7961\*'
RtlDosPathNameToNtPathName_U: '*. ' -> '\??\Z:\7961\*'

'*', real deal: '.', '..', 'dot-end', '.dot-start', 'no-ext', 'full.ext',
'*.*', wine copy: '.', '..', 'dot-end', '.dot-start', 'no-ext', 'full.ext',
'*.*', real deal: '.', '..', 'dot-end', '.dot-start', 'no-ext', 'full.ext',

'*. ', wine copy: '.', '..', 'dot-end', '.dot-start', 'no-ext', 'full.ext',
'*. ', real deal: '.', '..', 'dot-end', '.dot-start', 'no-ext', 'full.ext',
On Wine, as you can guess, the "real deal" lines are identical to the "wine
copy" lines, so the only difference is with '*.', as this bug report states.
What's interesting is that adding a space after the dot makes Windows strip the
dot as well.
Apparently there should be some magic in FindFirstFile to detect and handle
paths ending with a dot.

Crash backtrace.
XMLSpy 2012 crashes on me periodically when saving XML and XSD files. It does
not happen every time but frequently enough that it is more than an annoyance.
I have downloaded the debug release of 1.4-rc2 from the OpenSUSE 12.1
repository and attached the backtrace.

Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor seems to be built/coded against a buggy
or old version of DirectDraw. On Windows XP+ it requires a so called
"DirectDraw Emulation Mode" to function properly. Without it characters will
become transparent when standing still.
There is a guide available which explains on how to enable it using the
Application Compatibility Toolkit from Microsoft:
http://www.sorcerers.net/community/index.php?threads/for-those-with-invisib…
Then there is a DirectDraw wrapper which enables it, too:
http://bitpatch.com/ddwrapper.html
However, I failed to get both to work under Wine.

Minimal test program
Since there's source code available, I isolated the problem and created a
minimal crashing example.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Compile hook.c to hook.exe (with MinGW or similar).
2) Start hook.exe in shell; optionally try also hook.exe {2|3|4}
3) Start Notepad.
4) Type a key in Notepad. It crashes right away.
5) Close hook.exe by inputting enter.
My sample program includes several versions of the hook callback. Looks like
the crash comes if the callback accesses memory at all, so practically anything
else than a simple return statement will cause a crash.
Someone with an undestanding about the Wine memory layout and/or process
boundaries should take a look at this.
