When I load a scenario or campaign map, the map is loaded, but the hexagonal tiles on the map are corrupted (see attached screenshot). If you select a unit, all the surrounding tiles become corrupted. Another occurrence of the problem is when I load a campaign where the weather is snowy: the map is all red and I can only see small white dots moving across the screen (representing the snowflakes). I can reproduce the problem with Wine 1.2.3, 1.4.1, 1.5.10. Tried the game with the open source Nouveau as well as with the proprietary Nvidia driver (304.32): both display tiles incorrectly. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. download and install the game 2. start the game and select <Play Scenario> in the menu (second button from the left). SmartView Tracker; should be able to filter on any column (right-click on top of column) But only on the leftmost column works as expected. In order to filter the correct column I have to hide the other columns making the filter column the left one. They do not appear at all (in xfce) or appear as an 1 pixel wide vertical line (in mate). However, in the registry key (HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/SecDrv), it installs a value with data that always has the system32 path, thus meaning that the driver fails to load on wine startup and copy-protected games will just flat out refuse to run. I would have thought wine would have been coded to catch this sort of thing... evidently something was missed. Used a clean prefix, nothing else installed but Skyrim, yet it hangs when exiting to desktop. Otherwise plays fine. After "Quit To Desktop" is selected, it hangs indefinitely. Can't ALT+TAB, can't CTRL+ESC. Must ALT+F1 to a TTY, and killall TESV.EXE from terminal. I did not see an option to run the game in windowed mode, so I assumed that meant that you had run the game in a virtual desktop as per the winecfg setting. Doing this I was able to reproduce the 'backspace does not work' part (including 'hold down alt for a while and it'll work again), but apart from backspace the multiplayer name field accepted all characters/key-presses. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8365 --- Comment #29 from Goblinstomper(a)gmail.com --- sorry about the spam, just realized that I didn't really answer "how". 1) Start the tutorial 2)proceed through the tutorial until they've instructed you to open the options menu 3) alt-tab (in my case: to a browser I can't see - then I pressed ctrl+t to open a new tab in the browser I can't see to make sure that the browser really has keyboard fokus) 4) press alt-tab in order to switch through all open windows to cycle through the game and the browser (in order to use the task-manager thumbnail to ensure that a new tab really was opened in step 3) keep going until game has focus again in the task manager. 5) Press O to open the options menu. Game should have (or well, at least did) have keyboard focus. One of the new feature of the update is a modification to the internal browser so that it loads faster. After restarting only the game library is usable, clicking any online option results in a blank page that loads indefinitely. I did not try to download anything from the steam client. However, moving the mouse to even deploy MCV makes me afraid of the lag I'd experience if I was attempting to operate a full-sized base. What I find to be the most-odd is the scrolling of the mouse seems to be the only unaffected object in the lag. Unit movement, building/training queues, and resource/money updates (like when you first start level and starting money is added) all run slowly during mouse movement.
