Dwarf Fortress http://mayday.w.staszic.waw.pl/df.htm pauses when I switch away
to another virtual desktop. I suppose it's the case with other programs as
well, but I couldn't test it.
It doesn't pause on Windwoes when one alt-tabs away from it, therefore it
shouldn't pause in Wine as well.
It doesn't pause when there are multiple windows including DF on the same
desktop, even if it doesn't have focus.
It doesn't pause when Wine is configured to have a virtual desktop (which I'm
using now as a workaround).

maybe that skips over the terminating null sometimes.

The code is not new, but the error is, so maybe this only happens

In RPG Maker XP, after having opened a Project (or created a new one), when you
open the script editor by clicking the sheet icon in the icon bar, select a
script from the list on the left and moving the text cursor to some point, then
switching to another task and finally switching back to RMXP, it selects the
complete contents of the Scintilla edit field.
It doesn't happen if you first focus another control before switching to
another task (and doesn't happen on Windows, at all).
I'm not sure whether this happens with other programs that use Scintilla, too,
but I doubt it.

wine log demonstrates the issue
Using RegCleaner 4.3, Build 780 is impossible because of different memory
access violations and wine assertion failures (see bug 19046).
Attached wine log demonstrates one of these failures.
It's hard to reproduce this exactly same way because of random memory access
violations (which makes this report almost senseless, I understand) but general
recommendation is to play around with list in the program's main window and
operate with menu only (!) using keyboard shortcuts.

Log messages from wine
In the GTA San Andreas Multiplayer Client sa:mp, the Chatbox, which is usually
triggered using the 'T' key is not visible.
Only the scrollbar (which is on the left side) is visible.
The written text (by other users) is not visible either.
Unfortunately it's problematic to take a screenshot, but it appears that the
chatbox is stretched ver far to the bottom of the screen (offscreen even).
While playing, wine also reports many (apparent?) issues regarding the chatbox,
as it also includes the written text from the Chat, that would otherwise appear
in the Chatbox (see attachment).
If I can give further information, just tell me how. I tried to take a
screenshot, but like I said, it's problematic.
Warning: The log is compressed and will take 39MB when unpacked.

Upon beginning installation, the game installer checks for space on all

When the storage space screen loads, it shows all the partitions as having the
same amount of space as the partition on which the Wine C: drive is kept.
This breaks installs for any system running an OS only linux install, with
partitions for data.

wine 1.7.17 built fine on the same OS.
wine 1.7.19 builds fine on Mac OS X 10.6 and later.
Apple documentation shows these symbols to be available as of Mac OS X 10.6
(see
https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/CoreFoundation/Refere…)
so this either means you are no longer supporting Mac OS X 10.5 or you need to
find a way to do whatever you're doing using 10.5 APIs.

Game is currently in beta devel (current build v0.69) -- one can
use/participate with the beta release on the condition that you are prepared to
pre-purchase a usage license. That purchase must be made via facilities built
into the game launcher UI, however this is not working for us, with the
'Purchase' page of the launcher always displaying the error text of ;
"A detectable CPU, permanent storage device, and Ethernet or wireless (802.11)
card are required to purchase the simulation. Currently, this application
cannot detect these components. If these components are available and you
believe this message is an error, please contact support(a)rfactor.net"
...and as such, one cannot purchase a license. I did actually email the support
email cited, but the reply was merely a 'seems wine is not compatible' type of
answer. Other functions of the launcher UI seemingly work, including the config
utility (which does detect GPU setup).
Issue can be reproduced by downloading/installing the latest beta offering from
the following URL, starting it, and clicking on the 'Purchase' tab in the UI ;

Summary: When Delphi programs (e.g. InnoSetup) start, their
global variables are corrupt.
Product: Wine
Version: 1.4.1
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2

Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: skiy(a)skiy.co.za
Created attachment 48611
--> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=48611
A simple test case, described how to use it already.
I have noticed that, when I write a Delphi program on my system, it will often
crash. Like this:
1. I write source code
2. I compile using: wine dcc32 MyProgram.dpr
3. I run program: wine MyProgram
50% of time the Wine debugger starts.
The problem changes *randomly* when I change compiler switches, for example
Stack Frames = on/off, Optimization = on/off. Those are Delphi switches.
When I run other peoples programs the problem might be the same, example:
InnoSetup always crashes. That's another Delphi app.
When I run other peoples, or my own, C++ programs, everything is fine!
I have tried to pinpoint the error:
My conclusion, since InnoSetup wizards crash during initialization, is that the
global variables are corrupted.
A global variable is like: when you declare something *outside* of a function.
They are supposed to be set to zero in Delphi. I have attached proof that they
are not. Like this:
1. I wrote SHR.pas
2. I did: wine dcc32 SHR.pas
3. I run: wine SHR.exe 60
Program reports incorrect log information: R = Random number!
4. I run same file on Windows: R = 0, which is correct.
If you can't see R, type Hello and press enter.
Summary:
The global memory block does not get zeromem() run on it, under wine. No idea
why.

(See also bug 11876.)
I was doing some benchmarking, so I booted with nosmp and am running lwm
instead of gnome, and was surprised to find that Mass Effect 2 demo
aborts before it gets to "press any key"!
+relay makes the problem go away, but +synchronous,+d3d doesn't.
The log shows
trace:d3d:WineD3D_CreateFakeGLContext getting context...
XIO: fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server ":0.0"^M
after 4062 requests (4060 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
Adding a couple TRACE() statements shows the abort happens between the two
lines
DescribePixelFormat(ctx->dc, iPixelFormat, sizeof(pfd), &pfd);
SetPixelFormat(ctx->dc, iPixelFormat, &pfd);
Sadly, adding +wgl makes the problem go away.
This was with an nvidia gtx 560 ti and drivers 270.41.06.

output from Wine when running the RPG Maker VX runtime in a clean wineprefix
When attempting to run a game that uses the RPG Maker VX Runtime Package it
crashes, possibly after trying to setup dmusic or something similar.
It is possible to workaround this with "winetricks dmusic", which fixes the
crash but causes errors that appear to have no effect on the game.

Short demo program written in the BBC Basic for Windows Language
See attached program written in the BBC Basic For Windows Language. Program
previously worked in wine but now does not work. The specific problem is that
wine is ignoring mouse clicks when the mouse pointer is on the screen but still
allows the user to turn off the program with the standard close button.
BBC Basic for Windows is freely downloadable at
http://www.bbcbasic.co.uk/bbcwin/download.html
When the same program is run in BBC Basic for Windows installed in Windows it
behaves as expected. When a left or right mouse button is pressed a colored dot
is placed on the screen at the pointer tip.
Note that the program contains a subroutine to detect what environment it is
running in, so that a workaround for the GetBoundsRect windows function not
being implemented in wine comes into operation. This is a previously reported
unresolved bug in wine.
Please let me know if you need more information.

The application launch page (Launch.exe) for Oberon games is using an embedded
mshtml control. The links to launch and register the game cause the window to
display white (I assume this is because it is navigating to about:blank).
To reproduce:
1. download the game installer.
2. run the installer.
3. select to run the game after install.
4. press the "Play Demo NOW" button.
NOTE: The launcher itself has several rendering differences to Windows:
1. The clickable area of the buttons includes the "Play Demo NOW" text.
2. The "Get More Games" and "Enter Registration Key" text should be over the
buttons.
3. The scrollbars are not displayed.

To install the app properly, I think you need to do
winetricks vcrun6
to get mfc42, else an ocx can't register.
The next problem is that it needs Real Player com objects.
Fortunately, installing Real Jukebox 1 (yes, version 1)
seems to satisfy this.
( You can download Real Jukebox 1 from
http://forms.real.com/real/player/blackjack.html )
Before running, make sure Real Jukebox can play an
.mp3 file.
Also install Gecko (winetricks gecko) before starting,
as somehow the gecko autodownload is themed out of its
mind after installing those two apps.
Then try to start the app. It puts up an error dialog "Einvalidop"
fairly early and gives up. I'll attach a log.

Trion has started using Glyph to manage their MMO's. Attempting to install
Glyph with the windows version set to win7 or higher fails. It can be
installed if the version is XP or Vista.
A possibly related problem is that once installed Glyph will not run when set
to win7 or higher. All that comes up is a dialog saying cannot find platform
'windows'.
I've tried both 32 & 64 bit prefixes.
The reason I'm trying different version setting is because the Trove alpha is
currently being compiled without XP support, XP doesn't see it as a valid exe,
and I don't know if it's crashing because wine won't run it when set to XP.

Summary: 3D pinball - Space Cadet: incorrect gameplay in Wine.
Product: Wine
Version: 1.3.17
Platform: x86

Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2

ReportedBy: turbolad995(a)hotmail.co.uk
Strange bug here...
I've been testing the XP version of 3D Pinball Space Cadet with my dual-boot
Ubuntu and Windows XP setup. The game can be found on the XP drive in:
C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Pinball\pinball.exe
The pinball.exe is opened with Wine to run the game outside of Windows.
During gameplay, I sometimes find that the ball falls "through" a flipper,
usually when I activate the flipper to hit the ball. This is NOT the same as
the ball falling down between the flippers.
Having tested this game under Windows XP, I've not had the same problem.
To reproduce this, open the pinball.exe file using Wine and play the game for
about 15 minutes or so and you will SOMETIMES find that the ball falls THROUGH
one of the flippers, normally when you press the key to activate the flipper
(default is <Z> key for the left flipper and the </> for the right flipper).
It's a strange bug, but it does exist when using Wine.

Created an attachment (id=31851)

Excerpt from a multi-megabytes log file created by my program
xcopy.exe in batch file doesn't ask for Y/N before copying
I wrote a Windows software using Delphi and was pleased that it runs under
Linux Mandriva Spring 2009 (under VirtualBox under WinXP) thanks to Wine.
Congratulations !
I also wrote an installer for a CD-Rom for which, given the large number of
files (> 1000) to copy I created a batch file with several XCOPYs.
For example
XCOPY "G:\TSE24MPC" "C:\Program Files\MPCT2v3\TSE24MPC" /S/I/C >> "C:\Program
Files\MPCT2v3\MPCT2.log"
(where G: is the CD and MPCT2v3 is the (already created) directory where the
files should be copied)
Unfortunately I didn't use the /Y parameter which "Overwrites existing files
without prompting" because it was not supported by some Microsoft older OSes.
Instead I used
SET COPYCMD=/Y >>"C:\Program Files\MPCT2v3\MPCT2.log"
which apparently was not taken into account.
My program records batch file output in a log file (see attachment) which grew
up to hundreds of MB's while Wine File Manager didn't show the expected copies.
At worse it appears that XCOPY should display a message in my French XP
Remplacer C:\Program Files\MPCT2v3\TSE24MPC\$DJ.BGI (Oui/Non/Tous)?
But no message appears since no command prompt window is there and the same
message repeats itself until I stop the XCOPY program in Task Manager.
It should perhaps be wise to eliminate interaction from DOS commands or support
COPYCMD to avoid the problem. Thank you again.

Installed PlayonMac to run Metatrader 4 on MacOs 10.9.2.
When I try to run Metatrader 4 I get a message "error in main".
And in the debug file I found:
"SECUR32_initNTLMSP ntlm_auth was not found or is outdated. Make sure that
ntlm_auth >= 3.0.25 is in your path."
I don't know where to find this if this is causing the problem.
Hope you can help me out here.

Backtrace immediately after crash
Kindle for PC is installed on Linux Mint Debian Edition using Wine version
1.4-1. Many books are marked as new, even though they have been opened and
partly read on a different device (Android tablet or Kindle for PC running on
Windows XP native). Any attempt to perform an action (read, remove from device)
on a book marked as new causes a crash.
