FlashWindowEx dwFlags parameter tests
Depending on the dwFlags parameter, FlashWindowEx may send a WM_NCACTIVATE
message with the wrong wParam value. Some flags should not send a WM_NCACTIVATE
message at all.
Attached is a document I've made from testing FlashWindowEx with various flags
and having the window active/inactive.
This issue seems to be related to Overwatch losing focus on respawn, it calls
FlashWindowEx with dwFlags = 0xE (FLASHW_TIMERNOFG + FLASHW_TRAY), which
according to my tests should send a WM_NCACTIVATE message with 1, but wine
sends 0 instead. Forcing FlashWindowEx to send TRUE instead did resolve the
loss of focus.

I was able to get the client installed easily just running the installer
through wine, patching was an issue as it seems to have been in Beta, however
after the install I copied in an already patched version of the game which
allowed me to get past the Version Check and patching process.
Now when running ffxivboot.exe the game loads the Login Screen properly. I can
enter credentials and it logs in fine and then goes to the Launcher page.
On the Launcher Page I can get into Account Management just fine, however if I
click on the big red "Play" button nothing happens, it seems like the Launch
page just refreshes.
After logging in I tried leaving the Launcher page up and just executing
ffxivgame.exe however it acts like it is trying to launch and then simply
crashes.
Wine Configuration has Audio set to OSS instead of ALSA.
All graphics in ffxiv config are set to the lowest possible settings.
I have tried with both Hardware Mouse enabled and disabled via ffxiv config,
and with sound enabled and disabled aswell.
If there is any data I can collect to assist in troubleshooting let me know.

The Devilution project is trying to restore the original source code of Diablo
(1). As it widened focus from the main .exe file to include diabloui.dll too,
during a cleanup [5] of the latter it encountered IMO a quite insightful
screenshot [6] showing usual WinAPI contols drawn over the DDraw surface (if I
get it right).
Not that it helps finding a solution to this bug very much – just somewhat
technical fun.

In About window you can see logo (icon) and logo (WinRAR word on the sea).
First logo is in 16 colors, this is strange: in Windows this is full-colored.
Double clicking do easter egg: it jump to down of window! Double clicking on
second logo (big WinRAR word) can do second easter egg, but it make very small
speed of application! Double click fix this.

Famitracker 0.4.6, 0CC-Famitracker 0.3.14.5, and j0CC 0.6.0a (forks of the same
MFC-based codebase) use around 60% of a single CPU core (with WINEDEBUG=-all)
when idling, and causes my laptop fan to spin up. It uses significantly less
than that when idling on Windows (16-32% of a core, corresponding to 4-8% of
four cores in taskmgr).

Tried repeating bug 31201 without native dotnet35sp1.
When the installer's progress bar hits about 50%,
I get a dialog
Fatal error in gc
GetThreadContext failed
Using ps, I see it's coming from "C:\users\dank\Temp\msi1c95.tmp HandBooks"
This is a 24KB .net executable, and running it by hand while that dialog
is still up generates another instance of the fatal error.
One sees lots of this error message on the web, mostly from Unity3d
apps conflicting with antivirus programs. I also recall seeing this
before when using Mono in Wine, so it's not specific to this app.
See also bug 30914 for another GetThreadContext failure which may be
the same problem.

I'm trying to run Wix, a .NET application, on Wine. In order to do this I am
using the mono-gtksharp installer from
<http://ftp.novell.com/pub/mono/archive/2.8/windows-installer/9/mono-2.8-gtk…>.
When building an installer, I get the following error:
fatal error in gc
Collecting from unknown thread
Some digging around reveals that this message comes from Mono's use of the
Boehm garbage collector. There is a bug open in their tracker that talks about
the error <https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=323578>; they seem to
consider it a bug in Wine.
I'll attach a shell script that reproduces this from scratch, almost
automatically. You just have to download Wix3.msi and drop it in the same
directory as test.sh.

Tested in self-built wine 1.3.20, git HEAD, and 1.2.3. When installing Facade
with the default destination directory (C:\Program Files\Facade) and a fresh
WINEPREFIX, the installation ends prematurely. Interestingly, choosing
'C:\Facade' as the destination directory works, as does 'C:\Test\This\Facade',
while 'C:\Faceade Space' also fails. (to reproduce, remember to delete the
WINEPREFIX in between, or the installer will erroneously report success).

When installing the gecko msi package with :
msiexec /i wine_gecko-2.21-x86_64.msi
on a wine 1.6 WoW64 architecture, then the gecko files are installed in
c:\windows\syswow64 directory instead of c:\windows\system32. Thus, 64 bits
iexplore doesn't work in this architecture.
Note that a manual install of wine_gecko-2.21-x86.msi goes correctly into
c:\windows\syswow64.

I was doing some testing on MSI, and figured that when using only 1 column in a
table with only 1 character, wine's msi implementation fails to create a
correct msi file.
When opening the msi file with orca, orca crashes after selecting the table.
Using native dll override for msi.dll, a correct msi file is generated.
The query I am using is
CREATE TABLE testTable (b INT PRIMARY KEY b)
Test application built in VS2008 (source and binary) is attached, it needs
vcredist package from microsoft to run.

The game Buccaneer: The Pursuit of Infamy (an arcadish Pirates! clone) becomes
unresponsive when changing in-game screen resolution. This occurs both in
Wine's virtual desktop mode and in fullscreen.
If you untick the 'Fullscreen' option in the game (so it runs in windowed
mode), the freezing doesn't happen and I can switch resolutions successfully.
The game uses the Torque engine, there are D3D9 and OpenGL rendering modes
available. However selecting OpenGL rendering from the options menu doesn't
have an effect: the game always resets itself to the default D3D9 renderer.
You can check out the issue using the demo (122 Mb download size), I added the
link to URL.
How to reproduce the issue in the demo:
1. Install the demo and start it by T3D.exe. The game will notify you about the
latest update, you can install it, the game will restart after updating.
2. Go to 'Help & Options' in the menu, then select 'Settings'. Change the
screen resolution (default is 1024x768) and press 'Apply graphic changes' >>
the game will hang, although music is playing on, and htop shows the game
executable still consumes 50-60 % CPU.
Workaround: playing the game in windowed mode.
I attached the console output when the game freezes. I added winedebug=-dsound
to the command line to suppress the tons of dsound related fixmes in the log.

I run Ubuntu 14.04 and tried to play Watch_Dogs. My steps:
* install PlayOnLinux
* create x64 container for WD (latest WINE 1.7.44)
* install Uplay from .exe from its website
* login and install WD
When I click "play" Uplay installs other related packages (don't remember exact
names but there were 9 of them) like DirectX, VC2008, VS2010 and .NET
Framework, on which it hangs for more than an hour, but after some fiddling
(closing and retrying) finally passes. I'm greeted with the error about
ntlm_auth which was fixed by installing winbind, but then I get the error:
error Disrupt_b64.dll, procedure entry point __crt_debugger_hook could not be
loaded in the dynamic link library MSVCR100.dll
I read somewhere that this error is caused by something other and it's just a
stub so I opened POL logs and found:

I found error #36713 which seems related (same error message) but as I wrote
above I use a "fixed" version 1.7.44 and there wasn't any mention of what went
wrong, just that "DLL failed to initialize".

There is a noticeable (1-1.5 sec) lag when scrolling the window content in 'aSc
Timetables 2016'.
To reproduce the problem in the trial version:
1.install & start the application, select language.
2.in the main menu press the 4th button from the left in the toolbar (<show
demo files> if you selected English language).
3. in the selection window on the left use the scrollbar to scroll through the
list. You should notice that scrolling is laggy, comes to a halt frequently.

After wine-3.12, the "Virtual Desktop" when using "Emulate Virtual Desktop" has
no name. It used to have "Wine Desktop" as a window name listed when using
xwininfo, but is now listed as (has no name).

There seem to be more bugs: clicking on items in the menu (menu half hidden,
but visible in virtual desktop), do nothing. For example I click Help-->About.
I expect window showing some info but nothing happens. That could/should be
tracked by new bugreport however

The MSI installer offers properties for uninstalling. The properties
ARPNOREPAIR
ARPNOMODIFY
APRNOREMOVE
are not considered. The above properties need to result in the following
Registry entries:
ARPNOREPAIR: NoRepair = 1
ARPNOMODIFY: NoModify = 1
APRNOREMOVE: NoRemove = 1
in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{product
key}
Those Registry entries are not taken from the installer msi file and are
missing.
Adding those Registry entries manually in the Registry result in some
actions/options of the uninstaller but those actions are not correct. E.g. when
NoRepair = 1 is set, the user can still repair the product, or for NoRemove = 1
the product can still be removed etc. A Remove/Repair windows should not show
up at all when the according actions is blocked. Please compare with Windows'
Control Panel.
When corecting this software area I recommend to also fix the System
Information of the uninstaller. The System Information should reflect what came
in by the msi installer (that from the above Registry key).

World War One Gold Edition v1.08l never reaches the main menu after starting:
the game always stops at the same point while loading (the progress bar reaches
95-98% when the loading process halts).
The game is still using 100% CPU power, the mouse pointer is movable across the
screen and music is playing but nothing else happens (I've waited for about 15
minutes just to be sure).
The same problem when trying to start the game in Wine-1.0.1, 1.2.3 etc.
The game was installed in a clean wineprefix, no native dlls were used.
I found out that adding WINEDEBUG=warn+heap to the command line makes it
possible to reach the main menu. No additional lines in the terminal appeared
when warn+heap was used.

Adobe FrameMaker 8 installer +msi,+volume trace (lzma compressed)
With wine-1.2-rc2-51-gbbd93e5, after pressing Next at the "Setup Type" dialog
in the Adobe FrameMaker 8 installer, an "Invalid Installation Directory Type"
dialog is spawned, complaining about the destination drive type. Dismissing the
dialog, however, allows installation to continue. I suspect the problem is
msi-related, as a +volume trace shows that the GetDriveType invocation is
working correctly, and, within the ControlEvent msi table of the installer, a
SpawnDialog event for InvalidInstallDirType keyed to the Next button of the
SetupType dialog has condition:
_IsSetupTypeMin = "Typical" AND Drive_Fixed = "1"
which seems pretty strange, as a fixed drive is one that the installer is
supposed to accept. A +msi,+volume trace is attached.

'Clones' is a nice Lemmings clone.
The game always crashes for me after 5-10 minutes of gameplay. Usually the
crash is preceded by some strange screen corruption (big red X-s appear on the
screen) but sometimes the crash happens out of the blue. It always happens
after you've been playing the game for 5-10 minutes.
No usable backtrace is generated. The issue is present in Wine-1.0.1,
Wine-1.2.2 and so on.
To reproduce the issue in the demo:
Because of bug #25606 you can only test the problem in the multiplayer mode of
the game.
1. After installation launch the game by ../Bin/ClonesGame.exe
2. Create a new profile then choose 'Tournaments' > 'Host Tournament'. Choose
the first available level (Beach). Uncheck the 'Public' option so other players
online won't disturb you in testing :)
3. <Start level>, <Start match>. You can play the game if you like it or simply
let it alone and wait for about 5-10 minutes. A crash is going to happen sooner
or later.
Sorry for the not so clear description but this is a problem that cannot be
reproduced easily (it doesn't happen right after starting the game or by doing
certain actions in the game).

I tried using 64-bit ORBIT_PROFILER_1.0.2 in a 64-bit .wine to debug a 32-bit
EXE (https://github.com/jimbo1qaz/j0CC-FamiTracker/releases/tag/j0.6.0a).
When Orbit Profiler attaches to j0CC-Famitracker, j0CC (not Orbit) crashes with
some unimplemented .?_Winerror_message@std@@YAKKPADK@ (error only visible in
debug build, not in release)
Installing winetricks -q vcrun2017, that crash is fixed. But instead, when
attaching Orbit Debugger crashes with Unhandled exception: unimplemented
function ADVAPI32.dll.TraceSetInformation called in 64-bit code
(0x000000007bc5bf2c).
Enabling DLL override and copying a 64-bit advapi32.dll into the program
directory from Windows 10 x64 system32 results in orbit.exe eating one cpu core
without opening its GUI.
I've reproduced the first two in a clean WINEPROFILE.
wine-staging 3.15, I can't test wine-devel until I reboot to a live USB,
because I locked myself out of sudoers with usermod.

Starting a new game in Ski Challenge 2010 demo takes an unusually long time:
5-7 minutes.
Lowering the screen resolution/detail level, disabling audio don't make a
difference.
Besides the default Windows XP mode, I tried with Win2000, Vista as well as
Windows 7 mode: all the same.
What does seem to improve the loading time considerably is to set the Windows
version to Win98 in winecfg: loading a new game takes only 15-30 seconds
(depending on the detail level).
Steps to reproduce the problem with the demo:
1. Install the demo. Select 'Use custom installation' option and uncheck the
option 'Run Ski Challenge 2010 (FTV)'.
2. Start the demo by Updater.exe. The updater will fail, dismiss the error
message. The launcher should appear.
3. In the launcher go to <Options> --> <Manual> then click on <Accept>. Click
on <Play>.
4. When the main menu appears click on <Play> --> <Training>, select a course
and click on <Play>.
5. The game is loading but it seems to take forever to get into the game.
Terminal output doesn't reveal anything suspicious, just lots of
fixme:d3d:resource_check_usage Unhandled usage flags 0x8

I suppose, but that wouldn't actually synchronise with vblank. OML_sync_control
does provide that functionality though, through WaitForMscOML() in particular.

Gothic 2 Alternative Balance only runs, when NOT focused. When game gets focus,
everything freezes. When focus is taken away by alt+tab, game starts running
again in background - this is clearly visible with virtual desktop. Menu works
corretly even when focused.
Tested with compatibility mode of Windows XP, 7 and 10.
Timeline in log is:
1) Started the game and loaded a save -> game got stuck at loading screen
2) Pressed Alt+Tab (taken focus away from game) -> Game started running
3) Pressed Alt+Tab (game focused) -> Game froze
4) Pressed Alt+Tab (taken focus away from game) -> Game started running
5) Pressed Ctr+C in terminal to kill the game

The log after clicking play on the launcher
World of Tanks 1.0 crash at start (after clicking play in the launcher) when
wine (or wine-staging) is compiled with gcc 8.0 or above.
I've tested this bug on ArchLinux and on Fedora 28 and it is present in both
distros.
I've also tested wine compiled with gcc 4.6 on ArchLinux and with gcc 7 on
Linux Mint, and everything works fine.

Direct DoS2 start with Wine 3.0 rc-5, channels +d3d,+dxgi,+d3d11
Under Wine 3.0-rc5, after DoS2 is successfully installed, and is launched,
Steam reinstalls .net 4.0 every time, as if the previous .net install is not
seen or recognized. No matter how many times you launch the game, Steam
attempts to install .net 4.0. After that there is no startup (at all) under
Steam, the game just dies.
If however you start DoS2 directly under Wine 3.0-rc5 using:
/home/test/.local/share/wineprefixes/Testing/drive_c/Program Files
(x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Divinity Original Sin 2/bin/EoCApp.exe
Then the game attempts to start but has a black screen. The cursor changes to
the game cursor and then that is all. This seems to happen to AMD (amdgpu)
users only; Nvidia users do not seem to have this problem and they are able to
run the game with the Nvidia factory drivers. Please find attached a
+d3d,+dxgi,+d3d11 log (by Józef Kucia's request).
I am submitting this in the hopes this will be fixed before the production
version of 3.0 is released.

The terminal output.
Word crashes at saving a file, always, the save file dialog does not appears,
it crashes before. And word restarts.
This also produces an abnormal behavior on the KDE task manager, I only can
switch between application by Alt + Tab keys, this stops when I completely
close Word and wine.
This seems to be similar to http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17464

When I press <F4> to switch to windowed mode from fullscreen the game crashes.

Log of Firefox Nightly startup
Trying to run a Firefox debug build (you may take the latest Nightly for
testing purposes found on:
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/) under wine (1.5.28
and 1.4) leads to an infinite loop containing
### ERROR: WalkStack64: Invalid handle.
(see attachment for a bit more output).
This happens both on 32bit and 64bit systems (I used an Ubuntu 12.04) with the
32bit Firefox version (64bit Windows versions are not supposed to work).
Non-debug versions of Firefox are working fine with Wine. And nightlies are
working fine on Windows.

Latest diablo 3 running on wine-1.5.6-105-gb5511bd randomly freezes. I've
experienced freezes: before clicking login; after clicking login and when
loading hero list; when clicking around in auction house; or during gameplay.
Freeze doesn't seem related to anything in particular, sometimes takes a few
minutes after I start the game, sometime it's pretty fast.
On the console, the last message (often repeated) is usually:
Handle Event: "auth validation event"
Game is running in virtual desktop at 1600x1000 resolution. I have AMD Phenom
X6 1090T (hexa-core) processor and AMD Radeon HD 6990 graphics card.
Symptoms of the freeze include locking the cursor to whatever it was during the
freeze (most often the diablo cursor) - when moving cursor around the screen's
existing windows it doesn't change. If the cursor was at a text editor during
the freeze, it'll remain to be the editing cursor wherever I move the mouse. No
windows respond to clicks. No windows update (including gkrellm on another
monitor).
The only solution is to killall "Diablo III.exe" from another shell, which
unlocks everything and brings the system back to operation.

I have both an actual CD and an .iso image on my computer. I've tried mapping
both of these options to the d: drive, so that the game will be able to find
it, but no matter what I try, the game still will come back with "Please insert
CD". It will do this even if I start the game from the CD itself! Grrr
I've attached the terminal output produced when running the game, then closing
when unable to 'insert the cd' as it requests. Also attached is a terminal
readout of the dosdevices d: drive mapped to my external CD drive (which mounts
automatically as the r: drive, which is shown in the attached screenshot)
I've tried everything I can think of, and followed every suggestion I've been
able to find online on winehq and from other people who have run into similar
issues. Nothing I do works. What am I missing?
As a side note, the sound also does not work within the game, but I haven't
even tried troubleshooting that yet. One issue at a time is all a novice like
me can handle. But if you happen to see anything in the terminal readouts that
might offer a clue to this issue, also, please let me know :-)

Well, the summary descripes nearly the complete problem: Since wine 3.15 I
start the launcher, log in, press the PLAY button and the game freezes.
Reverting to wine 3.14 resolves the problem immediatly. I am using archlinux 64
bit and WINEARCH win32. I attached the console output.

When I start a d3d game the gamma on the other monitor changes.
- this is probably an action taken by the program that triggers the gamma
change, it only happens on entering certain scenes
- there is a 'xgamma' utility that sets gamma on the other monitor as wine
does and is unable to set gamma on any other monitor
- I tried to set the "Use XRandr" registry from N to Y but Wine would still
only set gamma on the wrong monitor as xgamma does

This bug affects only Adobe Flash Player versions from 10.0 family (i.e. having
version numbers in 10.0.x.x range). I had tested it to affect almost each 10.0
release that had been released to public, namely: 10.0.12.36, 10.0.15.3,
10.0.22.87, 10.0.32.18, 10.0.42.34 and 10.0.45.2
Full screen hardware accelerated mode of Adobe Flash 10 had been failing hard
(hanging, crashing, e.t.c., check bug #25533 for example) on systems up until
the commit bd97589d. Starting with that commit and up to Wine 1.5.5 hangs no
longer happen but there's an issue with Flash player not being able to redraw
its window contents when in in fullscreen mode.
This problem only happen in case "Hardware acceleration" is enabled (relevant
checkbox is checked in "Properties->Display" of the dialog box that is
accessible by right clicking on flash player window contents and selecting
"Properties..." menu item). Inspecting CPU usage and wine trace logs makes me
believe that hardware-accelerated fullscreen mode differ from other operating
modes of Flash Player (non-fullscreen or fullscreen without hardware
acceleration) in that it uses direct3d to do rendering.
Easiest way to reproduce problem is by installing fresh version of Firefox into
the prefix, applying workaround for bug #17273 (check comment #11 in that bug),
installing any release of Adobe Flash 10 Player NP plugin and trying to
playback any clip from Youtube in fullscreen mode. In case prefix is configured
to run in non-virtual-desktop mode (i.e. Wine creates a separate X visual for
every window windows apps tries to create) - Flash Player fullscreen window
won't be redrawed properly (i.e. would display statically a frame that had been
playing at the moment of switching into fullscreen mode). In virtual desktop
mode active for prefix "fullscreen" Flash Player window would be redrawn but
there would be some rendering artifacts noticeable looking like "periodical
quick jumps backwards in time and than back".
Trying to apply fixes like activating "AlwaysOffscreen" wined3d mode doesn't
help (at least on the workstations I used to test/reproduce this bug).
With standalone Adobe Flash 10 based appls like Machinarium which don't
auto-quit fullscreen mode upon focus loss another interesting observation could
be made: Flash Player fullscreen window contents seem to redraw properly as
soon as there's some other window overlapping player's window which moves back
and forth. Simply having some other window sitting still in front of Flash
Player fullscreen window doesn't helps, one would have to move it in order to
force Flash Player into redrawing its window contents.
I'm not attaching logs to this bug as it seems that it is pretty easily and
quickly reproducible by anyone wishing to debug it. As far as I can tell from
inspecting logs (and comparing then with ones captured with Flash Player 10.1 -
which doesn't experience this bug) there are no obviously suspicious lines
there for relevant debug channels (ones acquired by grepping for "DEBUG_CHA"
inside wined3d and winex11.drv source tree folders).

This bug shows up when running Microsoft winhlp32.exe under Wine. I tested the
versions from Windows 98 and XP.
Some help files contain links which when clicked open a pop-up box. The box has
a semi-transparent shadow effect to the right and below, achieved by rendering
alternate pixels of the shadow area black.
In Wine, sometimes the shadow is rendered entirely in black. Whether it's
rendered correctly or in black doesn't seem to be consistent; you can click a
popup link many times and sometimes the shadow is rendered correctly, other
times in black. Or on a page with multiple popup links, clicking on different
links gives a different result.
Try viewing the attached FACTS.HLP in Microsoft winhlp32 under Wine. Various
pages of that help file have popup links.

MathType add-on doesn't work in MS Word under wine. This makes MathType almost
useless.
In Windows on the first launch of Word after installing MathType Word asks if
you trust the macros and then MathType toolbar appears and works. Under wine
add-on is not recognized, extension "MathType Commands 6 For Word.dot" is not
active. If I re-enable it by hand it shows "Loading MathType commands..." and
then Word crashes.
Tested on Xubuntu 11.10 x86_64, wine-1.3.28, MS Word 2003 Pro, MathType 6.

Log running FCC 11.017
Trying to get latest FirstClass client (FCC) to work in Wine 1.3.33/34
(ubuntu-wine-ppa-oneiric) with the following problems in Ubuntu 11.10 with
Unity. The same behavior in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS with Wine 1.3.31
(ubuntu-wine-ppa-lucid).
If you got your settings file and the login screen finaly shows - and you
write your correct login and password and hit the enter key - FCC freezes. The
workaround is to click on the green login arrow button next to the password
field instead of hitting enter - not obvious for most users.

Hi,
I hope this is the right area to post my problem.
If I start the PartyPoker-client, I don't get any feedback from the PartyPoker
Server. It just appears a splash screen with "Preparing connection". But all in
all I can't gamble.
It has to be a wine error, because the web client of PartyPoker works quite
well.
But I need some features of the normal client, so it would be nice, if you
could try to solve this...

On MacOS, I observe random occurrences of
malloc: *** error for object 0x402086a0: Non-aligned pointer being freed (2)
*** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug
after an app exits.
A message like that has been mentioned in bug #28291, bug #22722 or bug #21655,
comment #4 and bug #28039, comment #6. I don't know if the cause is always the
same.
I once thought it may be caused by audio but it's not. It currently presents
itself as follows: the message appears a few seconds after an app (e.g.
winecfg) exits, thus I believe it's in the server (it might be one of the
services). Not every call to winecfg terminates with that message.
Using WINEDEBUG=+coreaudio I observed that it can appear after winecfg even
when not clicking the audio tab, thus audio is loaded and not the cause.
Setting a breakpoint doesn't help:

When playing games such as 3D Pinball Space Cadet, Lemmix etc., every time a
sound plays, the game briefly "pauses" at the same time. I'm sure this has
occurred since Wine version 1.3.25 was installed and it has been a problem ever
since.

I've checked this on:
Wine 1.3.24 - Gentoo x86_64 on laptop 1
Wine 1.3.15 and 1.2.2 - LinuMint 64 on laptop 2
If I install the game (BG 2 with TOB and patches in one) and start new game I
won't be able to save it - the game will show a message box stating that it
couldn't save the game (it creates the folder for saved game and few files but
not all). Wine doesn't print any debug. Autosave on new game usually succeeds.
The game has a "Save" folder for saved games. I've created also "save" (and
"SAVE"). It solved the problem as everything got saved in "save" folder. If
installed on ext3 - no problem (also BG1 works without problems on ext4).

After installing Sibelius 6 from the retail CD, it refuses to start, displaying
the message:

I installed the Tahoma font in my fontconfig path in an attempt to fix an
application that insisted on using a Tahoma font.
When gedit is set to use font Tahoma 12 it renders some glyphs (eg rcaron) in
different size, weight, etc.
I can't enter these characters in Notepad so I can't tell if this happens in
Wine as well.

Steps to reproduce from a clean (non-existing) .wine directory:
- $ WINEARCH=win32 winetrics vcrun2008
- $ WINEARCH=win32 wine /path/to/solidworks2011/swwi/data/setup.exe
- Finish installation
- $ WINEARCH=win32 wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/SolidWorks/SLDWORKS.exe
- Click on 'New File' (when solidworks is started for the first time, you have
to specify some details about measurements)
- After a while SolidWorks crashes (before you can choose what type of drawing
you want to create). It shows the SolidWorks crash handler, asking whether to
send the crash report to their HQ.

When running this game in FBO, PBO or PBUFFER modes (with or without
multisampling), parts of the GUI are invisible.
Namely menu button backgrounds, dialog backgrounds (texts are visible) or
tooltips.
When using backbuffer, everything works, but it is upside down, will file a
separate bug for this.

The doc-file where first two formulas are created in wine-Word, and the rest in
Windows-Word
When I open a doc-file with some formulas (the file was created on windows
machine), sometimes they are rendered a bit wrong.
After opening them in equation editor they are rendered OK. After saving the
doc-file anything is OK. But when the changed file is opened on MS Word 2007 on
Windows machine, the formulas which were opened in Equation Editor on wine
Word, are rendered wrong. And I have to open them in Equation Editor and save
document to see them in right way.
The MS Equation 3.0 is used (the old version).
In the attachment there's a file where first 2 formulas are created in MS Word
2007 installed on Wine, and the rest is created in MS Word 2007 installed in
Windows.
Override of gdiplus (installed via winetricks) didn't help.

By default with wine 1.3.29 Team Fortress Arcade have no sound but installing
directmusic from winetricks the sound gets working. The problem comes when the
game try to play more than a sound file at the same time. Then the previous
sound stops playing and the game freeze while wine is loading the next sound
file. I attach the output of wine using:
- WINEDEBUG=+tid,+mmdevapi,+winmm,+midi,+dsound,+oss,+alsa,+coreaudio

I get two very similar unhandled exceptions in two Open University
applications, Graph Plotter and elconfig.exe
To recreate:
1. Enter data in Graph Plotter.
2. Plot Graph.
OR
1. Launch S103 Block 8 Section 2
2. Skip twice (to skip voice introduction).
3. Enter an incorrect answer (correct answer doesn't cause the error).
Both cause an unhandled exception:

Output of Miranda IM from startup to shutdown
Reproducing this issue is simple. Simply obtain and extract the ZIP file from
the bug URL, and run miranda32.exe from the extraction folder. A made up
profile name can be used, and then any login windows should be canceled. An
import wizard will be shown, but by this time the Miranda IM window is supposed
to be drawn. In actuality, the Miranda IM window is rendered totally
transparent, and from the terminal, the messages:
fixme:xrender:X11DRV_AlphaBlend Ignoring SourceConstantAlpha 150 for
AC_SRC_ALPHA
fixme:xrender:X11DRV_AlphaBlend Ignoring SourceConstantAlpha 180 for
AC_SRC_ALPHA
which would seem to point at an issue in winex11.drv. Output is attached.

After most matches, like missions and deathmatch and in multiplayer games in
the 3rd game, the game doesn't respond to mouse input and I only get beeps when
I click on the window. This does't happen in multiplayer games whenever the

Hi,
I working on porting an IDE on MacOSX with the help of Wine, And I discover a
random bug on wine.
Please use the sample code in attachement (BugProject visual studio project) to
reproduce it (to be compiled on Windows)
On Mac with Wine I get this type of message (Log in attachement
TestMacOSX10.6.4.log):
CreateProcess failed (1359).
On Windows everything work (Log in attachement WindowsXPSP3.log).
I used wine 1.2, 1.3.0 and 1.1.39 on MacOSX 10.6.4 SnowLeopard (Intel hardware)
and Windows XP SP3.
Could you help me?

Hi,
I am an Hebrew speaker and writer. Hebrew is written, unlike English from
right-to-left. That means that when I write a document, I use both languages.
MS-Word has a long history of bug concerning this language switch inside the
document. But, I never had this problem before:
When I run MS-Word on wine, I use this: "export LANG=he_IL.UTF8". This enables
Hebrew. When I write in Hebrew it's fine and it works great. but, if I switch
to English... then the sentence "The car was damaged pretty badly" looks like
this: "car was damaged pretty badly the". if I use capital letter in the
beginning, then it looks like this: "he car was damaged pretty badlyT" if I use
a comman: "damaged pretty badly was .the car" and so on...
It seems that it can't handle ",./'\][!@#$%^&*()" as well as Capital letters
along side with the fact that it does a mix of a regular sentence.
If I hadn't run it with: "export LANG=he_IL.UTF8", then the same as above would
apply for Hebrew as well.
It is basic and very common for duel language writers to use both languages in
one document. the solution I found so far was just to use one of them... but I
can't really work like that.
Please check this out, MS-Word is an important tool as you may know.

When I attempt to install Borderlands, the setup program installs the game
right away. It skips many pages and questions (eg. which users are allowed to
access the game, the game directory, etc.). When testing the game in Windows,
the installer asks all the required questions before installing the game. In
both cases the Launcher.exe program was used.

"whisper" is a program! where you can store your password in a crypted
password.
So in the field "file name" i cannot find the file,
while i am typing the name of file system ignores me.. for sure i can use this
"type'n'select" function in a list of files.. but it's not what i want to.
how it always and everywhere working (even so whisper working in windows)
in the field "filename" you can type the fisrt letter of the file and the press
"enter" to open it if system suggest you a right file, or use scroll with a
"up" and "down" keys to select the other files system suggest you with letters
you typed.

wine startup takes ages for me, particularly the first time. I have about 3500
fonts installed on my system, and wine opens all the files at startup. This
takes 15-20 seconds on my moderately fast PC. I find this completely
unacceptable. We already have TWO font databases to avoid exactly this
unnecessary work: fontconfig and the "Software\\Wine\\Fonts\\External Fonts"
key in user.reg.
Please give me a way to stop this.

Crash on close with Wine 1.3.6
Nikolay Sivov fixed bug 21665 with commit
6ec621e835e03f715d5fee27c5de5b0d361814de in Git, since then it is possible to
easily load any Mech design in HeavyMetal Pro 5.10 R3. But unfortunately this
commit revealed another bug: if you've loaded any Mech design (I think I've
tried over twenty by now) and then close the program (any other action like
attempting to print (see bug 21666) doesn't change this behaviour), you get the
crash you can see in the attached log.
I'm currently using Wine 1.3.6 + 2 patches (see
<http://dev.carbon-project.org/debian/wine-unstable/> for details).

Hello, Been noticing Borderlands crash consistently on first start. If I try
again, it usually will run.
on the first start, black screen, freeze and then gnome asks if I'd like to
close the non responsive window. terminal output is the same each time,
attached.
Steam 1.9.5 64bit winetricks many directx dlls.

wine 2.16 default console log
A few days ago it did start fine with wine 2.15.
Today I upgraded to wine 2.16 and there was also a game update in the Blizzard
App.
Now I cannot start the game anymore, even with wine 2.15 and 2.14 that used to
work.
There is no error window, the program just close when starting.
There is an err:seh stack overflow at the end of the log.

Prior to this patch the function returned always E_NOTIMPL.
This patch changes the return value from E_NOTIMPL to E_FAIL even when flags is
not FCS_FORCEWRITE and when fcs->dwMask is not FCSM_ICONFILE.
At least the first case is also with the patch not implemented and should
return E_NOTIMPL.
Changing this return values changes the behavior of our application (which
shows the next crash :-).

Hi,
I am running Linux Mint 19 if that matters....
I recently installed Wine 3 via terminal.
The install went fine, but afterwards I started getting the following error
when Update Manager would run:
>> Failed to fetch https://dl/winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/dists/bionic/InRelease Could not resolve 'dl'Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead. <<
I tracked the problem down to a bad URL in a file named
"additional-repositories.list", which is stored in "etc/apt/sources.list.d"

I use Radeon graphics mayby it is problem?
Gothic 2 worked on ubuntu 15.10 with amd property driver.

I am quite happy with my GTA IV on Steam port so far but I am struggling with
one issue that I am unable to solve.
I noticed the issue later in game when the player has to throw a brick through
a window. A right mouse click (RMB) is required to perform this action.
However, to reproduce this issue you can perform a right moue click also during
normal game play. The first right click performs as expected. Doing it again
exits the fullscreen mode, scales the fullscreen game window, shows the Steam
interface on top of the OS X desktop in the remaining screen area and then
switches back to game fullscreen mode. However after switching back to the game
no more mouse clicks are possible - only key commands and mouse movement work.
It can also happen that the Steam interface partly overlaps the game screen.
There is not much the user can do in this situation other than quitting the
game and Steam.
I tried everything to solve this:
- Virtual Desktop
- mwo=force
- grabfullscreen=y
The behavior doesn't change at all, no matter what settings and combination of
seetings.

When changing the priority of running applications is enabled in staging, those
games built on Bioware's Infinity Engine lock up at various stages (but always
in the first 1-2 minutes after the game was started).
There's nothing written in the terminal, the game executable consumes 100% CPU
after freezing.
The games are running stable if I unset the STAGING_RT_PRIORITY_BASE variable
(or set it to 0).
In etc/security/limits.conf I have
gyebro - rtprio 90
gyebro - nice -10
I changed the value of 'STAGING_PRIORITY_BASE=' in ~/.bashrc between 1 and 85,
but this didn't change the bahaviour.
The problem seemingly occurs randomly thus I can't give you the exact steps to
reproduce the problem. Sometimes the games hang while I'm navigating in the
menus, during character generation or when loading a saved game.
Occasionally I can get in the game but it always freezes in 1-2 minutes.
It seems to me that the I need to interact with the game to trigger the bug:
the game runs stable if I let it idle either in the menus or in mid-game. The
hang occurs when I click on a button in the menus or when issuing a move
command.
I have those games from GOG.com, but the problem is reproducible with the
original Baldur's Gate 2 demo too (released in 1998).
Install BG2 demo, start the game with BGMain.exe. Sometimes it freezes when I
click on the options button in the main menu. If not, start a new game, follow
the steps to generate a character and get in the game.Select your character and
move him/her across the screen, interact with the buttons in the UI
etc...there's no rule when the bug happens.

I just downloaded the portable tarball version of wine 3.16. A short time
after I unpacked it Avira anti-virus claimed the joy.cpl was a trojan they have
named TR/Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2.
I have no idea if this is a false positive or not. The SHA1 sum of the tarball
I downloaded is:

Still wine-staging renders the game as black (bug 43981). Installing DXVK fixes
this. With wine-staging version 3.13, the game freezes when continuing a
mission. The game was working fine except audio is missing when DXVK is
installed with wine-staging 3.12. There is this error message when the game
freezes:

After upgrading to Wine-3.15 I could not start any Steam Game.
When I press the play button, Steam does not show the "loading" window, instead
it runs one core at 100% with `perf top` showing "ntdll.dll.so
ENV_FindVariable" as most used function. After a few minutes Steam asserts and
exits.
The relevant part of the log looks like:

Output with DXVK
WINE version is 3.15-staging
I've tested the game with and without DXVK/xact (no effect). This is NOT a
duplicate of 39402 or 38668 , since sound effects do function (menu clicks,
horse galloping, flutter of birds), as opposed to everything just being silent.
There do not appear to be any errors being output to console, but here's an
attached output I've had with DXVK.
I do not believe this to be an installation issue either, as voices and music
work fine on windows (I've installed it on windows first).

I first notice this running the 64-bit version of VTT ( http://aka.ms/vtt )
side by side with the 32-bit version of it, and selecting menu->help to read
the built-in chm file in both. The 32-bit version has nicely anti-aliased
fonts, the 64-bit version does not.
Then I can reproduce it without VTT, by just doing:
wine32 iexplore.exe
vs
wine64 iexplore.exe
(somehow biarch/wow64 build of wine would launch 32-bit ie by default - is that
normal?)
Anyway, should be easy enough to see? Not sure which component it belongs to,
wine or wine-gecko, or ieframe, or mshtml or gdi32/freetype. But should be
easily reproducible?

command line output
After creating a profile, the game enters the main menu. At the right you can
choose multiplayer, singleplayer options and so on and on the upper middle part
of the screen there is just a bar that says "loading". And it seems to load
forever.
I attached command line output but I am pretty sure there are no hints on it
because the output does not change if the game changes from intro movies to
main menu.
Anyone any idea what component can be related to the problem? I tried
WINEDEBUG=+all but then then wine is busy with giving output before something
happens a very long time.

This was tested with an existing wineprefix, where Office 2010 was already
installed; bug 45208 blocks testing a fresh install.
When starting an installed app, the setup program starts with a message that it
is configuring Office. That quickly fails; after closing that window, another
one appears with a message that Office was unable to validate the license.
The regression test identified 27edd4e35c1eb3827dfb20578733242d9ed3d460 as the
first bad commit.

Terminal output
Downloading Warcraft 3 via the Battle.net account (no matter if Reign of Chaos
or The Frozen Throne), executing it and choosing a non-english language (in my
case german (Deutsch)) causes the installer to get stuck after a few seconds on
updating the Battle.net-Updater with ~50% progress. In the attachments is the

The Neo Manager (or: Alphasmart Manager) is a software to read out/send
to/manage files, which are written on the NEO device (a keyboard-like writing
device). It is originally a software for windows (hence: wine used), the device
is attached via usb. The installation using wine runs through until the last
thing is "registering product" and then wine stops the installation giving me
the back trace below. I tried it several times, no change.
However, the program seems to be installed nevertheless and opens as it should.
The problem: Although my device senses beeing attached to my laptop (it can be
used as keyboard in any program as well, when not opened in the neo manager),
the neo manager does not find any neo device.
Vagely similar bugs are reported for windows users, if the used usb port is a
usb hub. I tried on every usb port my laptop has, it doesn't recognize the
device on either one. (I admit, I don't understand the usb port/usb hub
difference... sorry.)

Not-really-duplicate of Bug 7205, reported in 2007 and closed in 2008.
I'm using foobar2000 1.3.10. I first encountered this issue on Ubuntu 16.04
Cinnamon and Wine 1.6.2 x64, on a (I think) 32-bit wineprefix.

* I also replicated this issue in Wine 1.9.10, 32-bit (PlayOnLinux).
* To (hopefully) avoid foobar2000-specific tweaks, I used [Install dialog] ->
_Install a non-listed program_. Then I created a new app profile and
# Instructions
* Install foobar2000 1.3.10.
* Open foobar2000. Press [Alt-F].
# Results
* foobar2000 crashes. The internal crash handler catches the crash and pops up
a dialog.
* I clicked "View Report" and saved a crash log.
* Note that this bug is somewhat random. I've experienced GUI corruption, Wine
crash handler, foobar2000 crash handler, or no issues at all.
# Notes
* [Alt-Enter] crashes.
* [Alt] *focuses* the menu bar without crash. [Alt, Enter] opens the File menu
without crash.
* Afterwards, [Alt-F] etc. still crashes.
* Clicking on any menu opens that menu without crash.

We use FrameMaker 8 (a Desktop publishing program) and when printing documents
we see a regression from wine 3.14 (where printing worked without problem):
On many documents parts of the printed pages are missing. Whem this happens,
the same part of all pages is missing (i.e. the lower 20% of all printed
pages). Always lower parts are missing with varying extent in different
documents.
Looking at the Postscript file we see that the missing parts are not contained
in the file and there are no postscript interpreter errors.
wine is self-compiled (32-bit-only), an empty prefix is used and the Windows
version is set to Windows XP. The problem does not depend on the screen dpi set
with winecfg.
A bisect finds the following commit:

I've downloaded Atmel Studio 6 from here:
http://www.mikrocontroller.net/articles/AVR-Studio
and Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Shell (Isolated) from here:

After that, I ran:
WINEARCH=win32 winetricks -q dotnet20 dotnet40
Because the setup of the IsolatedShell fails to extract, I manually extracted
it using 7zip (alternatively WinRAR) and then ran the setup.exe.
To avoid some error messages of the MS VSISOS setup, I copied some files:
$ mkdir -p ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework/v2.0.50727/CONFIG
$ cp /etc/mono/2.0/machine.config
~/.wine/drive_c/windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework/v2.0.50727/CONFIG/

$ cp /etc/mono/4.0/machine.config

Now starting the Atmel Studio 6 setup works but still has some installation
errors of single components, but nevertheless the installation succeeds.
Starting the program fails with following error message:

Terminal output. Don't know if this is all, but I think it is.
I've installed Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare over Steam, but the resolution,
when I start the game, drops to 640*480( with a screen with 1600*900 ). The
rest of the screen is black.
When I try to set a new resolution the game just crashes and the resoluton is
still 640*480 in Unity.

While trying out some games which support the DX11 Warp software renderer on

It later crashes, likely due to missing WARP driver support.
Having the unhandled WARP driver type explicitly "stringified" could improve
the situation of diagnosing end user problems. I actually had to look up the
enum value.
Might be a bit off-topic to this ticket: Is Direct3D 11 WARP driver support
ever considered in Wine? I guess getting DX11+ feature support with hardware
drivers to work perfectly (tm) is much higher priority. The MS website
(https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/direct3darticles/directx-w…)
lists some interesting use-cases though.

Call of Duty 2 - Terminal Log
Each time "Call of Duty 2" is started, the first splash screen is shown, but
when the video from intro should be started it hangs.
Only if the playback can be skipped very fast it's possible to reach the menu.
On the terminal lots of following messages can be seen:

When running FFXIV in D3D11 mode, it is horrendously slow because it does
several UpdateSubresource calls to a depth-stencil texture from another
texture. Right now, texture2d_blt will pass this on to a raw_blitter_blit as
WINED3D_BLIT_OP_DEPTH_BLIT, which will ignore it and continue passing it on
until it ends up at the CPU blitter.
I believe a simple fix is to update the conditional in raw_blitter_blit to
allow op == WINED3D_BLIT_OP_DEPTH_BLIT. I don't see an obvious reason why a
depth-stencil blit should be special from the perspective of
glCopyImageSubData. On my system, this significantly improved fps (though still
not quite to matching FFXIV D3D9).

Given the batch file foo.bat containing
echo FOO
and the shell script 'foo.sh' containing
./foo.bat
the command
./foo.bat
interactively will output
FOO
on both cygwin/windows and cygwin/wine, but the command
sh foo.sh
will produce
FOO
on cygwin/windows but will fail on cygwin/wine saying
foo.sh: line 1: ./foo.bat: permission denied
This happens both in an interactive cygwin shell started under wineconsole,
as well as the naked command
$ wine ~/.wine/drive_c/cygwin/bin/sh foo.sh
which sometimes says permission denied, and sometimes says "bad address", e.g.
foo.sh: line 1: ./foo.bat: Bad address

So the "permission denied" error might be a symptom of a crash, too.

When an 16-bit Windows application displays a listbox and manually fills it
with DlgDirList (not as a part of a Common Dialog), the flag combination
DDL_DRIVES|DLL_DIRECTORY should make files appear according to the set filter.
Wine does not do this, as it (incorrectly) appends DDL_EXCLUSIVE to the bitmask
of flags before delegating to 32-bit code.

If using winedbg to debug Windows apps in a Linux IDE is to become practical
winedbg --gdb --no-start needs an extra parameter to specify a fixed host:port
TCP connection, similar to what gdbserver has. Currently the port is chosen at
random, which means IDEs have to be reconfigured on every debug attempt.

self-install-plugin that can be used without bankperfect installed
When trying to install free auto-install-plugins in Bankperfect (just an
extraction in the 'Scripts' subfolder of Bankperfect), the installer block on
files (especially .png ones)
It worked on ubuntu artful but no more on Bionic Beaver.

Driller is a freeware remake of a classic 3D adventure game, which was quite
popular in the 8-bit computer era.
The standalone executable Driller.exe fails to run in Wine, showing only a
messagebox, saying:
'Error! User lib not found', then it quits.
I can't verify how it behaves under a native Windows environment because I have
no Windows installed. According to the developer's page the game is Vista
compatible.
I'm not sure it has something to do with the issue, but the Driller.exe is
packed/protected(?) by Molebox Ultra. That is some kind of virtualization which
helps creating portable applications.

cmd: Avoid having first parameter to start.exe ignored.
Tried to have a look into #44236.
There a batch script is executed but the start commands
did not wait until the started processes did end.
Example line:

As far as I see this is because when WCMD_start encounters an title parameter,
it removes the executable from the cmdline parameter to CreateProcessW.

This get not recognized much, because usually the title is the first
parameter and is therefore ignored by start.exe. But start.exe get executed

in the cmdline parameter to CreateProcessW.

I can reliably reproduce this on gcc113 (GCC compiler farm), when running
dlls/dxgi/tests/device.c. It occurs for me on other tests when running the
tests under valgrind, but running them individually doesn't always trigger it.

Report the results of GetProcAddress for three variations of the intersting
symbol
While looking into issues with running current Cygwin on current Wine, an error
was raised under Wine Staging 3.6:
fatal error - couldn't dynamically determine load address for
'DsEnumerateDomainTrustsW' (handle 0x7F1E632A0000), Win32 error 127
This doesn't happen either natively or with Wine 2.4 (Staging)
Looking into it, it appears the current netapi32.spec has:

Given the near-trivial code attached, the behaviour difference is clear.
Windows (Windows 10 1709):

The weird thing is that Wine 2.4 worked in Cygwin, when clearly nothing has
apparently changed for this particular DLL export code-wise since 2005.
I believe this is to do with the patches in Wine Staging
(https://github.com/wine-staging/wine-staging/tree/master/patches/winebuild-…)
which have surfaced a class of previously-hidden issues in Wine.
I haven't worked out where yet, but I suspect that the Fake_DLLs are breaking
some kind of Wine magic which lets the unadorned symbols for stubs also respond
to a lookup for the adorned symbols.
Otherwise, I expect we'd see a lot more pairs like this:

I'm surprised such a change hasn't seen more issues but I was unable to find
any references to it on this Bugzilla or by searching Google.
ReactOS have a trivial patch which turns them from spec-stubs to code-stubs,

and that would make sense for Wine.
All Wine installations here are on Ubuntu 14.04 from winehq packages, in Docker
images built from https://github.com/TBBle/wine_msys64

Noticed this while messing around with Sacrifice
(http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/sacrifice).
The game stores a few keys with embedded NULLs, apparently all the ones that
store string values (dword/hex values aren't affected).
Looking at the raw registry (system.reg) shows the values fine:
"Graphic detail"=dword:00000000
"IP address"="\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0"
"Key repeat delay"=dword:0000000a
"Key repeat start"=dword:00000032
but if I export the key with wine's regedit, it mangles them:

"IP address"=""Key repeat delay"=dword:0000000a

notice how a quote goes missing along with the newline. The game really likes
those newlines. If I remove them and rerun the game, then adjust its settings,
it adds them back.

I don't know how much this really depends on OpenWRT, but that's the way how I
can 100% reproduce this bug.
I run LoL with latest wine-staging. I installed using this script:

So far I always used AVM routers. Fritz!Box 5050 first and as my ISP now uses
Annex-J, I had to switch to a Fritz!Box 7270.
With these routers, I never had any problem with logging in from the League
client.
Now I wanted to try using a 100% open source router based on OpenWRT. As soon
as I do so, connection to the LoL login servers fails.
My brother was able to reproduce this problem on his PC and he also has Windows
installed. If he boots into Windows, login works. On Linux with Wine, login
doesn't work.
So this is a Wine problem "somehow" as it works on Windows, but it may also
have something to do with the router or network infrastructure as it works on
Wine if a proprietary router is used.
I can provide more info if required.

Batch file which triggers the problem
WCMD_parse() copies command qualifiers into the quals[] array. The
array is MAX_PATH (260) characters long, but the input command can be
up to MAXSTRING (8192) characters long. This can lead to buffer
overflows and crashes if a command has many qualifiers.
The attached try.bat file, taken from an actual command generated by
a cross-build system, reliably crashes wine 1.9.11 as built on SLES11SP2.
Increasing the size of quals[] to MAXSTRING characters fixes the problem.

Wine 2.0 terminal output
When attempting to play the game Caladrius Blaze, I am greeted with a
completely black screen.
I've attempted to play the game while using Windows XP & 7 modes.
Any advice on what logs I would need to provide will be greatly appreciated as
I can't see anything related to DirectX in the game's terminal output at all...

with WINEARCH=win64 does install mfc100.dll... but into c:\windows\syswow64,
which seems wrong.
This was with wine-1.4. I'll test again with current wine once I figure out
how to build it.

I'm trying to do a new Wine Mono release to address
https://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-devel/2018-June/127993.html, and I'm
finding that the version shown in uninstaller.exe never gets updated. However,
the files from the new package are installed, and MsiInstallProduct claims
success.
Steps to reproduce:
* 'wine64 uninstaller' and remove wine mono
* 'wine64 msiexec /i wine-mono-4.7.1.msi'
* 'wine64 msiexec /i wine-mono-4.7.2.msi'
I don't know when this last worked.

Hearthstone-Deck-Tracker is an open source deck-tracker/helper for Hearthstone.
Other problems with the app:
- HDT is written in C# so dotnet45 from winetricks is required,
- installation doesn't work, there is an "unpacked" version in GitHub releases,
that skips installation.
- HDT doesn't work with multiple monitors (GUI is just black). Disabling
secondary monitors works around this.
HDT stopped working (GUI does't show) in wine-2.20. I did regression test:
