Summary: EVE Online: Slow text rendering
Product: Wine
Version: 1.5.31
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: btbn(a)oromit.de
Classification: Unclassified
Rendering text is realy slow in EVE Online with wine.
This is most notable when the game renders the initial EULA/TOS(no idea if it
still does this with the new launcher, but running ExeFile.exe directly with a
fresh install should still display it), on Windows, the EULA is rendered
imediately, without any noticable delay.
On wine, it takes several minutes until it's done rendering the EULA. The
client does not freeze while it renders it, but you have to wait for the text
to appear, because you have to scroll down and accept the EULA.
Ingame there is no such large freeze, but the texts it renders are a lot
smaller. But activating the FPS meter(Ctrl+F) shows a short negative fps spike
each time something that renders notable ammounts of text happens, like opening
a new window, a long chat message, and so on.
This doesn't happen on windows, and it seems related to the realy slow text
rendering of the EULA.
There is nothing suspicous in the wine output that could explain the slow
rendering.
I tested this with wine 1.5.31 and the latest EVE client of today, and it still
happens there.

For example, run Diablo 3 in windowed mode and resize the game window.
Under Windows 7, the game would adjust the viewport. With wine however, it
seems like the game renders as the same resolution and the window shows some
scaled version of the rendered image.
Basically I can't play Diablo 3 in windowed mode.
This also affects other games, I believe, such as Starcraft 2.

Summary: Treeviews and listviews of the Starcraft 2 Editor
freeze very often for a few seconds.
Product: Wine
Version: 1.3.25
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: florian(a)fkoeberle.de
The Stacraft 2 Editor is very inresponsive:
For example selecting an item in the top left tree view of the trigger editor
makes the editor freeze for 3 seconds until it becomes responsive again.
It doesn't matter how you select an item in the top left trigger view: Giving
the tree view focus, clicking with the mouse and using up and down arrows to
switch the currently selected item causes all a 3 second freeze. The left top
treeview is a very large but collapsed tree.
Other treeviews of the trigger editor show also a very bad performance.
Response times range from 1 to about 10 seconds. They seem to be depend on the
size of the tree.
The archive browser, which can be used to browse textures or models, takes
about a half minute (!) to open.
Switching to a differnt listview tab in the data editor can also take multiple
seconds. Selecting an item in a long list takes about 2-3 seconds.
Once you reduce the number of items displayed by the data editor by for example
filtering the performance increases and it becomes very responsive. Even the
treeview below the list is faster when the list above is smaller.

Installed fine on Ubuntu 10.10 but the screen goes black when the game starts
and I can only exit the game by killing the process. I installed Directx 9.0c
and set the Options.ini file to use windowed mode with 800x600 1 resolution and
that didn't fix this. I have seen others with the same concern in the Wine
forum and in at least two other forums related to Ubuntu.
This was my third attempt at installing The Sims 3 on this system having used
Wine, Winetricks and Playonlinux.
My system is a Acer Aspire Timeline X laptop 4820T-7633. It has the bear
minimum hardware to run the game, but I have tested on WinXP and it ran fine.

Please clarify: is there anything wine could do? Or is this a driver bug that I

Summary: Starcraft gets slow when you select one and only one
overlord
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.34
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: wiebe(a)halfgaar.net
#14373 is reported fixed, but it's not.
Starcraft becomes very slow when you select certain units, most notably 1
overlord. When you select two overlords, it's not slow and when you select one
again it's ok as well. However, if you select something else and then an
overlord, it's slow again.
Problem exists with both GDI and OpenGL renderer, but it shows very severely
only with the GL renderer (whereas gameplay is superfluent otherwise in GL
mode). Most people, especially on modern hardware, might not notice the
slowness in GDI mode, but when you're a gamer and used to snappy response, it
becomes very difficult to "micro" with that slowness.
Points from the other bug:
- It doesn't have to do with the drawing complexity of the overlord, since you
can have a million in your view and more than 1 selected and works fine.
- The new patch of Starcraft introduced CPU throttling, which doesn't help.
- Selecting the default non GL renderer doesn't solve it, it hides it on very
fast machines. Machines faster than mine, anyway.

Creating new clean Wine directory. Installing and automatically running
DraftSight
In Ubuntu 12.04 x86-64.
I use different versions (including current) of DraftSight on WineHQ x86
(versions from 3 to 4) on Ubuntu 11.04 x64 on multiple PCs
without any problems! The .wine folder by default doesn't have "Program
Files(x86)" folder
See
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=11827
But in Ubuntu 12.04 x64 I try different versions of DraftSight with Wine 4 and
Wine 5 (both x64 with "Program Files(x86)" by default) with the same crush:
SmartHeapLibrary - MEM_BAD_POINTER
I press OK, OK ... OK and the window opens. But no response to any click or
key. To close it I must restart Ubuntu.
To reproduce this bug
1. Download DraftSight.exe from direct link:
http://www.draftsight.com/download-windows
2. Copy it to Wine's drive c or any subdirectory of it. If the path is very
long or contains any localized characters the installation process crashes. For
example, I can not start it from "~/Завантаження".
3. Run it on wine x64 (on x86 it works successfully) at Ubuntu 12.04 and
complete install. It is necessary to press Options on first dialogue.
4. Try to start it. This step usually performs automatically after
installation.
I try two versions of WineHQ: Stable 1.4 and latest 1.5.4 with the same result.
I also try to create x86 .wine directory by erasing old .wine directory and use
command:
WINEARCH=win32 winecfg
There are no differences in DraftSight's behaviour.
With best regards.
Viktor.

No game corruption.

Wine 1.7.20's ./configure script on Fedora 20 x86_64 puts
-I/usr/lib64/glib-2.0/include into its gstreamer-app-0.10 CFLAGS. (as assigned
in configure.ac line 1530)
Obviously, this doesn't go well: gint64 has wrong size, the config test fails.
After hacking the correct non-64 glib path into the configure.ac file it works
fine.
If this is related to some upstream (Fedora) weirdness, please tell me so I can
file a bug there.

entering credentials and pressing the login button I get a message stating that
there has not been any response from the server and that it is trying again
with a counter for the number of tries. Finally I get the message "The login

All libraries are installed properly on the arch based system(used to play
using play on linux until a recent update broke it)
I did follow the steps on wineHQ for inatalling LoL with the only difference
being that I installed adobe air manually as winetricks fails with it.

I say slight because the version I'm using, I've only just realized, isn't the
newest.
(I thought wine auto-updated to the latest build, so I thought I had 1.7.43)
in any case, I've tried with multiple Windows versions and I mostly get this
error:

otherwize it's a -p option not implemented.
so anyways, this is just to update, no change from 1.7.28 to 1.7.38
I'll see what happens when I use 1.7.43
I don't have a console output, but I can post the ISO if you'd like to test. :)

Bug #: 30546
Summary: League of Legends' patcher has anormal behavior.
Product: Wine
Version: 1.5.3
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: ntdll
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: nob.dir.info(a)gmail.com
Classification: Unclassified
Hello.
I'm not an expert of wine, but i tried to find how to let the LoL patch (this
window with a big button "Play") always work : because of some error (or not
implemented functions) in wine, the patcher stays blocked at 0% or 33% of
loading and the "Play" button stays in grey. I have to open it ten times to get
it function. But curiously when in write "WINEDEBUG=+ntdll" before the launch
command (wine "rads_user_kernel.exe" run lol_launcher 0.0.0.54
LoLLauncher.exe), the patcher function correctly.
That's why i think there is some error in the ntdll code (can't be sure on
something, i'm not a wine developper) and i report that painful bug (painful
because starting LoL with WINEDEBUG=+ntdll decrases the performances with
freezes of 1 sec or more ingame).
Cordially.

This is interesting, because Help --> Registration will successfully open a new

but doesn't do so with these two other menu options.

Summary: StarCraft2 bad physics issue on non-flat landscape
parts that is unrelated to the physics
Product: Wine
Version: 1.2
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: NightNord(a)gmail.com
I've attached few screenshots, illustrating this bug, first of which is most
impressive.
In short: at some parts of map, mostly this is non-flat and non-linear parts on
landscape, units, controlled by player or not, may:
1) Fly above the screen or just a little bit up.
2) Fall underground.
Buildings are also affected with even more funny effects (see first screenshot)
In most of cases units became unselectable with mouse and competely invisible.
Only way to get them out of there - move some big force at same location
(binded to hotkey), pushing them to outside of bug zone. I.e. "collisions" with
ground units just ok. Firing and damaging also works well, so only UI and
graphics are affected. No such bug for air units noticed.
This is done on ATI HD4570, fglrx-10.7, 2.6.35 kernel. wine-1.2 first tested.
Still remains on 1.3.
Settings:
VideoMemorySize=512 (unrelated)
UseGLSL=disabled (unrelated)
OffscreenRenderingMode=pbuffer (unrelated)
Game settings:
Shaders are low (middle with UseGLSL=enabled - unrelated. Without it
(UseGLSL=enabled) can't be tested due to bug #23906)
Textures are high (middle - unrelated)
Physics - middle (unrelated, I even tried to "off" it)
Shadows and other shader-related settings - low
Reflections - on (unrelated)
P.S. "Unrelated" means that changing this settings doesn't help, but no deep
testing was done (mostly due to crashes or heavy lags).
Default log shows nothing new while moving though such locations, so I'm not
posting any log.

Modified map that doesn't crash
When using some custom map, SC2 may crash. With the latest version of the
Multitasking Trainer by stet_tcl, it does crash as soon as you select the race.
By trial and error, I found out it was the "Enable coach mode:" button that
made it crash. What makes it different fromt other labels is that it has a
style applied to it. That style is ABChoiceBackButtonText. Some other style,
such as ABChoiceButtonText seem to work fine. If I remove that style
specification from all strings in GameString.txt (using Ladik's MPQ Editor)
using some sed command, the map will run fine.
I've attached a version of the map that induces the crash (with a single
ABChoiceBackButtonText label) and a version that doesn't crash. Those should
only work as expected with enUS N.A. retail copies, as the enGB locale has it's
own version of the GameStrings.txt file that I don't think I have modified.
Note that I can't see the ABChoiceBackButtonText style in the list of styles
available from the Starcraft 2 Editor, don't know if it's related.
I've included wine's output for both a run of the crash inducing map and the
one that runs fine. I haven't been able to run it with WINEDEBUG="+all", Sc2
seems to terminate prematurely in that case.
Some other maps also crash for me (ie. The Unit Tester), but I don't know if
it's related.

When you start 'wine cmd' from gnome-terminal, it launches the wine command
interpreter embedded in gnome-terminal. When you use the arrow keys to modify a
command that you just typed, it is set to overwrite (replace characters)
instead of inserting inbetween. However, gnome-terminal uses insert mode and
that is what the user was using just moments before.
I believe Windows 7 also uses insert mode
(http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ff758104.aspx) and if there is not
a good reason against it, it would make sense to have it as default in wine, or
better to inherit such a setting from the shell/desktop environment.
For an example, see related topic in the forum:

Platform: x86-64

Today after a little playing the complete input (mouse and keyboard) hasn't
responded anymore. At the time this happened the w key was pressed (because my
character was still moving) and maybe I was looking around with the right mouse
button. This made my system complete unusable and I had to restart it.
I remember that I had input problems a long time ago. But I'm unsure if at this
time the complete input got stuck too.

AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: saziel(a)gmail.com
The SF4 Benchmark (and thus, the game itself probably) suffers from a poor
framerate when run under wine. Under windows I can get up to 90fps, while I'm
stuck at 30fps running under wine. As the game logic is based on frames, not
time, anything below 60fps is unusable.
In addition, it does not seem to recognize the video card properly- where the
video card string should be displayed, it says "X11 Windowing System" instead.
Fiddling around with the options can slightly boost framerate. For instance,
with backgrounds disabled the framerate can jump much higher, however most
other options have little effect.
Not much interesting console output, except this which gets spammed:
err:d3d:state_colorwrite (WINED3DRS_COLORWRITEENABLE1/2/3,7,15,15) not yet
implemented. Missing of cap D3DPMISCCAPS_INDEPENDENTWRITEMASKS wasn't honored?
The benchmark can be downloaded below (~400mb):

the game needs this unimplemented function (iphlpapi):

DWORD WINAPI ConvertInterfaceLuidToGuid(const NET_LUID *InterfaceLuid,
GUID *InterfaceGuid)
{
FIXME("(handle %d): stub\n", *InterfaceLuid);

}
this is just enough for getting it working. This function looks simple so maybe
a proper implementation can be easily done.

Gridrunner Revolution is a remake of a classic 'bottom-up' shooter, published
by Llamasoft.
The game doesn't show certain objects during gameplay: your ship is missing,
only some fainted outlines of the ship can be seen. The incoming... er.. sheep
(?) are also not rendered.
You can check the issue with the demo, too. The following components are needed
if you want to try the game: dx9 libs and xact. Alsa must be set to 'Emulation'
to get sounds.

ugly with built-in dwrite.dll.
The crash reported here is fully reproducible on my system, it's just a matter
of time and tries when it happens.
Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. click the <New> button
2. click the <Audio/Midi...> button (no need to change anything, just close the
window)
Repeat the above steps until the application crashes. Sometimes it takes only
2-3 tries, other times it needs 8-10 attempts to reproduce the crash.
Disabling dwrite makes the crash go away.

When in-game anti-aliasing is enabled water is not rendered properly in the
King's Bounty games. Reproducible when the player is on the adventure map and
some water is nearby. When water quality is set 'normal' then water textures
are completely messed up (see attached screenshot). When water quality=high
then water looks a bit better, but still not correct.
Can be reproduced in KB: Legends demo. The game needs native d3dx9_36.
Reverting the following commit fixes the issue:
commit 90d8896826043bdf8c294018acc663c5d6684935
Author: Stefan Dösinger <stefan(a)codeweavers.com>
Date: Fri May 22 10:11:22 2015 +0200
wined3d: Allow specifying a different depth stencil location.
This is for drivers that do not support depth stencil textures, but
happily support depth stencil renderbuffers.
Rendering issues occur in GTA: San Andreas as well with that commit (noticeable
when the player enters a Pizza Hut: floor textures are broken when AA enabled).

DNTU crash log
Hi.
Application tries to create CLSID_DsAdminCreateObj object which isn't
implemented. I believe it causes a crash in richedit code. Crash log attached.
I'm not aware of richedit internals, if someone proves it's a richedit bug feel
free to patch it and change component accordingly.
Log taken with wine-1.1.33-404-gac85305.

Arc client is used to install & play free-to-play MMOs like Star Trek Online or
Neverwinter. The client is free but you need to create an account to reproduce
the problem.
The client installs properly, but after logging-in the main window which should
display the installed/available games as well as has some social functions, is
blank, the window contents are missing.
The patch from wine-staging fixes the issue and window contents are loaded
properly:

The patch can be reverted cleanly on 1.7.23 and it fixes the problem.
Disabling GLSL doesn't help.
I can't reproduce the problem with the open source nouveau driver, this may be
a bug in the Nvidia driver. I don't have Intel or AMD gfx card to test it.

>From within an Office 2007 app, going to "open file", and switching the
explorer View to "preview", no Office app except Word will actually generate a
preview (and at that, only with .doc/.docx files - not rtf, for instance).
All other office apps, when looking at files of the type opened by the
respective program, report that the "preview is unavailable."

Summary: Skyrim: Mouse not being captured (player cannot fully
turn in game)
Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.20
Hardware: x86-64
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org

Skyrim is not properly grabbing the mouse (Limited to about 45 degrees of
character motion is the symptom).
This problem occurs when using Linux Mint 17 which uses Xorg 1.15.1.
The problem does NOT occur on Mint 16 which uses Xorg 1.14.3.
I am running Wine 1.7.2 with the exact same freshly created ".wine" folder in
both cases.
The mouse is properly grabbed on the Mint 17 system when playing The Witcher.
So Skyrim must be doing something different with respect to mouse management.
I've tried many combinations of the usual options:
- Automatically capture mouse in full screen windows
- Allow the window manager to decorate the windows
- Allow the window manager to control the windows
- Emulate a virtual desktop (tried 1920x1200, and 1024x768) in-game res is
always 1920x1200.
- HKCU\Software\Wine\DirectInput\MouseWarpOverride=force
I've also tried running the program under the following desktop environments:
Cinnamon, Cinnamon fallback, LXDE, and Ubuntu Unity. All exhibit this problem.
By default, Linux Mint uses Wine 1.6.2. I've tried this version of Wine and it
does not fix the problem.
I'll provide any debug info needed to assist with this problem.
Thanks for looking.

Back trace
When starting StarCraft\ II.exe today I was greeted with a an error from the
SC2 launcher that was followed by several others (the Blizzard error reporting
program BlizzardError.exe seems to have crashed immediately afterwards as
well).
The culprit seems to be an assert that is hit in the fill_in_hostent function
which is part of libnss_myhostname.so.2 (which seems to be part of systemd
nowadays). Please find the backtrace as well as the terminal output attached.

When there is an hyperlink in any slide in PowerPoint 2010 and the user clicks
on it, it opens in winebrowser always.
According to http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys, the default behavior
should be opening with xdg-open, which in my setup should default to firefox.
So it seems that either this is a bug in wine or in the wiki.
I tried solution in
http://www.webupd8.org/2010/03/how-to-make-wine-open-links-in-your.html and
nothing changes.
I tried symlinking iexplore.exe and winebrowser.exe to /usr/bin/firefox but the
behavior still remains the same.

I've recently found that console-based C program

I tested with free version 1.2 and I see no errors - workspace window appears
and I can draw on it. Feel free to open a new report if some functionality
still doesn't work for you.

This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 1 year.
Is this still an issue in current (1.7.44 or newer) wine?

I haven't had the chance to upgrade to 1.7.44 yet, but I can confirm the bug is
still present in 1.7.43. So unless the Wine devs have made some change to
whatever ancient graphics API the game uses between 1.7.43 and 1.7.44, I don't
imagine upgrading to 1.7.44 would be of any help at this time.

Summary: Notepad ++ hangs when opened file gets updated
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: jager49(a)zonnet.nl
For as long as I can remember, Notepad++ (including latest version 4.8.2) hangs
when an opened file gets updated. This bug was present in 0.9.46 and 0.9.57. A
window does get created, asking the user whether to reload the file or not
("Yes" / "No"), however that window is non-responsive. The only way out of this
is to force quit the application.
uname -a;
Linux vostro1400 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Tue Feb 12 07:42:25 UTC 2008 i686
GNU/Linux
Distro is Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon (7.10), although this behavior was observed on
Feisty as well.
I've attached a screenshot of the window that Notepad++ throws. Dragging it
around just clears it and leaves trails all over the background window.
Amazing job guys & good luck with 1.0 !

It is obvious now that I see it, but I didn't think about changing optimization
flags to report a better crash stack trace. I'll try to remember it next time I
report a crash! Thanks for the idea!

Ok, I see. 3 patches can be made for sure if needed.
By the way, I was wondering if these functions shouldn't go into a central
place instead of being copy/paste of each others, otherwise next time we may
miss the fact that they all need to be corrected.
The commit message of 106e13ab0928036282b095250efdb04c91997054 where they were
introduced doesn't make me understand why they needed to be copy/paste of each
other, I must miss some knowledge :(

- Add the same new files (dmutils.c/dmutils.h) into dmime, dmband and
dmstyle directory that share the debug and helper functions for dmusic
dlls (as Rok's idea for dmloader).

I wanted to used the emacs Tags, as I managed to repair them (still need to
send a patch for that by the way). Next time I'll use the path, thanks again
for all your feedback.
Cheers,
Marc

Can mfc42.dll and any other third party dlls required to run Dos/Windows
programs be installed via an option button on the graphical interface?
If y'all can do what those commercial versions claim they can do regarding
finding and installing the latest drivers or libraries, etc, it can greatly
enhance the usablity of the platform.
It would be nice if the OS could do this natively as much as possible and as
transparent to the user as possible.

Your backtrace is certainly cryptic to me too, I was talking about my backtrace
with wine compiled without optimization (-O0). This make it much more clear and
with better source information.

You are right, the three of them need to be fixed but I'm not sure a single
patch is correct because it touches 3 different DLLs, I'll try sending upstream
to get some feedback. By the way, before the chunk of changes in a patch there
is always the full path to the file.

Wine version: 1.7.40
O.S. Configured under Wine: Windows 7
I ran the game via the PlayOnLinux, which uses Wine to run the games.
The error is something like "D3D_COMPILER...RESOLUTION_1278X768..etc ". On
first execution this error there. But now only shows the window saying it gave
an error and needs to close (does not specify anything).
Note: sorry my bad English, but I used a translator.

This is the application from bug #15824. I found a standalone installer which
doesn't have bug #34982.
Installation and launching the application goes without problems, I can connect
to a server (irc.freenode.net), MOTD is shown, but the chat client crashes when
I try to join a room (e.g. #winehq).
I entered the same room using Pidgin on Linux and noticed that the user I
created in CChat entered the room but immediately left (because the client in
Wine crashed).
The same problem with Wine 1.2/1.4/1.6.
Tried with native riched20, but it didn't help.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Click Scenario, Upgrade Settings. A dialog with a tree list will appear.
2. Click Zerg Upgrades.
On Windows, clicking Zerg Upgrades causes the Terran Upgrades tree to
automatically collapse. However, on Wine the Terran Upgrades tree stays open.
The same problem happens on the Player Settings and Special Ability Settings
dialogs, but the Unit and Hero Settings dialog is fine.
`winetricks dlls comctl32` resolves the problem.

Summary: 16 bit ole2 installer hangs
Product: Wine
Version: 1.1.38
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dank(a)kegel.com
Created an attachment (id=32716)
--> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=32716)
interesting threads from bt all
Happens with both 1.1.38 and current git.
To reproduce:
rm -rf ~/.wine
mkdir tmp
cd tmp
wget
http://download.microsoft.com/download/win31/update/2.03/win/en-us/ww1116.e…
unzip ww1116.exe
wine setup.exe
After clicking ok, it hangs here with
err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x7eb29760 "syslevel.c:
Win16Mutex" wait timed out in thread 000b, blocked by 0021, retrying (60 sec)
err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x7efec7c4 "loader.c:
loader_section" wait timed out in thread 0021, blocked by 000b, retrying (60
sec)
and then eventually crashes.
btall says the deadlocked threads are in TASK_ExitTask and LoadLibrary16.
I'll attach the deadlocked thread stacks.

Summary: GetStringTypeW: Access violation when src param is
null
Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.33
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: kernel32
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: christian.faurebouvard(a)gmail.com
Distribution: ---
The function GetStringTypeW in kernel32, at locale.c (line 2460)
cause an access violation when the src param is null and count>0
In windows, it return 0 (false) on this condition,
i've patched locale.c at line 2482 with this code:
if (count > 0 && !src){
SetLastError( ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER );
return FALSE;
}
Problem detected when trying to run a CLARION 8 application.
After this patch, the app seem running OK, with a firebird database via
unixodbc.
Thanks.

Death report
Installs fine, and plays fine, except when "connecting to paradise city
servers". Then it dies with this backtrace.
One workaround is to disconnect the network before playing, so it steps over
the conection and then I can play fine again, but only offline.
Thanks!
