winetricks d3dx9_36 makes the problem go away. None of this is surprising,
except that I could have sworn this game was working without this at one
point...
I did notice one funny thing: at the end of the install, it complained
that bioshock.exe couldn't run because it needed msvcp80.dll. Perhaps
that caused it not to run some bundled directx9 installer.

When starting either version of Pikachu Volleyball in a virtual desktop, the
program window doesn't center itself on-screen like it does outside a virtual
desktop. Instead, it appears to be using the same offset that would be used if
it was running without a virtual desktop. This can result in the window
appearing partially or completely off-screen depending on the resolution of the
virtual desktop and the real screen.
Possibly of interest, clicking window -> default size to re-center the program
window does work correctly.
Terminal output is no different than when running without a virtual desktop and
appears to consist of sound-related fixmes. (See bug 21697 for typical terminal
output from the linked version.)

I downloaded and tried to install Hotspot Shield so I could use it as a proxy
server to access US-only video content.
It prompts me to select the installation folder, but no matter what I select
the Install button remains greyed out. Also, it did not permit me to create a

I found the error the groupName was null so strlenW(groupName) was throwing the
error. I have attached a patch to the patch :) it is just a couple of null
checks if you could update your patch I would love to see it make it to the
main wine repos.

I am very interested in the patch and I am testing it now with PrintMaster 7.
However i am getting an error on or after line 259 of dde.c in the addItem
function added by the patch

error: Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000000 in 32-bit
code (0x7e2bb940).
I haven't had time to and extra logging to see exactly where the error is
occuring. if anyone else wants to help test the patch and I would be happy to
test their patch I just wont have alot of time to work on it for the next month

Hi guys. You're welcome, hope my examples inspire you to do the same :). I
think I did get feedback on that patch in IRC, but I can't remember what it
was, and I can't find the IRC log.
All my patch does though is the file creation part. The real PROGMAN opens and
closes Windows 3.1 styled windows of menu items links too, and I think some
apps do need this.
But if there is interest, give me a few days, maybe I can resend that patch.

Am running Setup.exe from mounted backup image. Pointing "Drives" to mountpoint

When running this game in fullscreen it is not possible for the player to spin
around freely. This is a regression between wine 1.4 and 1.6, still present.
Steps to reproduce:
- The free demo behaves the same as the actual game and can be used for
testing: http://www.gamefront.com/files/3090442
- Change your desktop resolution to 1600x1200
- Run the game. (The default path for the demo is C:\Program Files\Thief -
Deadly Shadows Demo\System\t3.exe)
Press ESC several times to skip movies. From the menu go to the options
screen and change the game resolution to 1600x1200
- Quit the game. If the buttons have become inaccessible after the resolution
change, then press Alt-Enter
- Run the game again. From the menu click New Game, then Start, then (after
loading) OK
- Move the mouse to one side and try to spin on the spot (look straight up to
make it easier to see). You will find that your movement is restricted
- Press Alt-Enter to go to windowed mode, click on the window and try again.
Now you can turn freely
Notes:
- Apparently the desktop resolution must match the game resolution for
fullscreen to work properly.
- If the game menu behaves weirdly, try running the game on a single core
- On Ubuntu/Unity it may be necessary to enable Legacy Fullscreen Support in
Compiz (but not in my case)

Tested with a GT430 card and the proprietary NVIDIA driver in Ubuntu 13.10 and
from a Fedora live-CD. (Many graphics issues with the Nouveau driver but it

looks like our WinVerifyTrust needs the fix as well. Installing the hotfix

back. Removing the new crypt32.dll from system32 though, does. I guess it's
loading the dll by path?

Hello folks,
is seems the culprit is NtQueryInformationProcess -> ProcessVmCounters not
returning useful information.
There are some tools to reverse EVE Online client code (compiled stackless
python and encrypted).
You need:
http://python.org/ftp/python/2.7.5/python-2.7.5.msi (Python for win32)
https://github.com/wibiti/evedec (decrypts Eve Online python files and passes
them to uncompyle2 to decompile)
https://github.com/wibiti/uncompyle2 (Python 2.7 byte-code decompiler, written
in Python 2.7)
Unfortunately 'evedec' makes use of parallel processing lib, requiring pipe
message mode (bug 17195 and bug 17273) so you have to work around with
unofficial patchset(s) floating around or rewriting the tool to use single
processing mode (without Queue).
Decompiling eve-8.32.622857 client and looking for code that updates the memory
stat page gives a hit here:

As already mentioned, only 'PagefileUsage' is actually required for EVE.
The best substitute for 'PagefileUsage' might be 'VmSize' from either
'/proc/<pid>/stat' (VmSize) or '/proc/<pid>/statm' (VmSize*page_size).
I added a small Linux implementation to ProcessVmCounters getter to fill
'pvmi.PagefileUsage' member with current VmSize and it was enough to have EVE
client display proper memory usage (current + deltas).

Terminal output
VirusTotal can automatically check a submitted URL with several safety checking
utilities, but it's not possible to submit one using IE8 with Wine. It gets
stuck at "please wait while submitting the URL provided." winetricks msxml3
works around it.
Steps to reproduce:
1. winetricks ie8
2. Navigate to http://www.virustotal.com
3. Click on the "submit a URL" tab
4. Type some valid URL in the text input field and click submit URL

GetTabbedTextExtent() in wine is returning a non-zero value when 0 is passed in

Debug output when explorer.exe does not start
The git master (29c6e10fd) no longer starts explorer.exe with this command
line:

Steam freezes after from few minutes to few hours from the moment of start.
When it is frozen it uses processor 100% (one core of my 2).

This bug emerged from the implementation of #20395 "Mouse / keyboard input not
handled (RawInput)" (http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20395).

After compiling and testing a git version (>1.5.12) including the "official"
raw mouse input patch (not to be confused with the "raw3" input hack)
http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/commitdiff/faaf3d388eb6db8c2594cb11f7…
with Guild Wars 2 (in which the camera is rotated around the character by
holding down the left or right mouse button and then dragging), I made the
observations listed below. Please understand them as a feedback directed to
providing viable information for debugging.
- Basically, the camera can now be turned using the mouse.
- Doing so has a major impact on the game's performance. For me, it drops from
40-50 to ~3 FPS.
- Actually, trying to turn the view with the mouse is not even necessary to
cause the FPS drop: Simply moving the cursor e.g. in a constant circle, not
even pressing a mouse button, leads to the very same result.
- Moving the cursor was already possible before the patch was merged to the
git. Thus, it seems to me like the game only uses the raw input path when
click-dragging the mouse.
- Before the patch was merged, moving the pointer did not cause a performance
drop.
- The previous two points seem to contradict -- I suspect a conflict/bug
somewhere in there.
- Turning the view with the keyboard is perfectly smooth, but it cannot be
considered an option regarding gameplay.
- All in all, the camera angle kind of performs jumps instead of smooth
transitions. This makes the game unplayable.
I'm quite sure to speak for many gamers out there when I say: Thank you for
your efforts, Henri - we greatly appreciate your work! Ofc, this also goes to
anyone else who was involved. Anyway, we'd love to see further improvements on
this - it looks like raw mouse input is almost done except for performance
tweaks.
A very similar issue seems to occur with Anarchy Online, as described here

League Of Legends game client crashes shortly after champion selection, right
before game loading screen should pop up. In screenshot you can see the pop up
with the error message.
native msvcrt doesn't help.
TO reproduce:
use ACE client or the original clent.
ACE client needs a patch from Bug 25624 to start.
Original rads launcher has problems to Bug 26924, but at least for me it is
working sometimes.
Once you are in the PVP.net start any game even tutorial and game will crash.

Although my system is strongly debian-based, I currently cannot use the
versions provided on Sid, Wheezy & friends: one of them is too old (1.4.x) and
one of them requires libc 2.17 which would mean a _full_ system upgrade. So no.
Since there is nothing in the 1.5.5|6 range on the Debian package world, I have
to resort to wine-mono0.0.8_0.0.8-0ubuntu1~ppa1_all.deb.
It works, except for wine-mono.
Tried to copy wine-mono-0.0.8.msi to /usr/share/wine/mono exactly as described
in the wiki.
But with the .NET 2.0 application I'm trying I always get this:
wine: Install Mono for Windows to run .NET 2.0 applications.
Is 1.5.5 not yet able to recognize the .msi in /usr/share/wine/mono ?
Unfortunately there is no way to trace what wine is trying to do except for the
fairly cryptic winedbg.

Unlike the ntdll bug in windows 98 compatibility, RealMYST does make an attempt
to launch in Windows XP mode. However, upon doing so I receive another list of
errors and the program shuts off.
I'm using the retail version of RealMYST with Patch v 1.11 from here:

Logs attached show me launching the game in two different screen resolutions
and receiving the same error regardless of them.

The setup displays messages like:

But other than that the installation works fine.
The problem can be reproduced in the demo (check out the link).

In Serious Sam HD: TSE, opening certain menu entries crashes the game after a
couple of seconds with an error message. After clicking OK wine crash dialog
opens.
This happens namely in Options -> Keyboard Options, Game Options, Sound
Options, Graphics Options, Advanced Options. (But not in Multiplayer Options
and Performance, not sure about Voice Options). Also happens in Single Player
-> Campaign -> Load Game, albeit in this one, it takes a bit longer to crash.
Attaching the information from the crash handler and the terminal output. If
You need output with some additional debug channels enables, please let me
know.
This MIGHT be a regression from more than a year ago (wine 1.3.x). But not sure
about it. Could try to do a regression test if really needed.
Note: the terminal output definitely has some Steam-related Wine output and
some output by the game's own logger.

I would like report bug about strange sound in Alan Wake steam version.
It happens only in menu and after intro cinematics (where Alan Wake says "I am
a writer")
I think it happens if i disable sound in game and also when i have sound
enabled.

console output without debug switches
When i launch a multi-players game via steam, the game menu shows up correctly,
but clicking on menu items is no-op, and i have to kill wine from a terminal
to exit.
When i launch a single-player game, the game hangs when displaying the
welcome screen saying "click to continue". I have to kill wine from a terminal
to exit.
I tried downgrading to the versions reported in the Black ops appdb entry
without success. I also disabled the steam community stuff.
My config is :
- kernel 2.6.38
- GEForce 9800GT with nvidia binary driver v260.19.36
- OpenAL soft 1.13
attached is the console output when lauching steam, then a black ops
multi-players game. Please tell me what debug switches would be helpful, and
i'll
provide the log(s).

Sorry had an Idea attack just need to poor it out for Wine this is not an Bug
but there's all ways that Enhancement Option.
For gamer’s that want more performance out of Wine and trust me this will get
more Wine Users to like hard core:
lets say u have a program attached to wine or add on..
that can detect all necessary programs for a Game and u want more performance
out of it what this program may do is look for unnecessary files that are
Running in ur computer and u just want a Game only to work there could be a
button for that that will shut all of those unnecessary files down and ONLY run
the Game.
Also could be a option what u want to Run in ur system example:
OpenGL or directX
or what screen format example: 600x800
some people dont notice it but lower the screen format the better for the game
to run faster depends on ur Graphics Card or chip... for my computer any ways
as i noticed.
But ima just tryin to help ya guys out lets say if this could happen allot more
people will be using Wine like crazy at least the Gamers might.

I've installed Crimson Skies from a retail CD to a new wineprefix. The
Installer ran fine and everything installed without problems. But launching the
game leads to a "Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x003fff9d at address
0x40e412 (thread 0027)"
The only message in the console is
wine: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x003fff9d at address 0x40e412
(thread 0027), starting debugger...
followed by the (attached) backtrace.
This might be a duplicate of Bug 10212, but the reports says the game launches
to the Mission Select screen, then a white screen where it finally crashes.
For me it crashes right after running crimson.exe without any screen change, so
it might be something different than this 4 year old bug.

Evidently this is a Java application. The installer downloads its own Java
runtime, hence the "PATH=C:\bwinPoker\arch\win32\jre\bin".

This is a PDF Editor - the only decent editor like software for Linux+Wine.
Unfortunately it doesn't work at all! The PDF Viewer software however works
flawlessly in Wine+Linux.

He was using wine-1.7 on Arch Linux.
I tried to install this software on Wine 1.4 but couldn't get past the MSI
install.
Could someone please take a look at this particular package since the PDF
Viewer which supports OCR and PDF highlighting and annotation works flawlessly
and is very well written. Given that this software would be useful to anyone
working on Linux, could it be given a higher priority. I myself can't try
things out because I'm on an slow computer and the compile (wine-1.6) is in
progress.

The program loads a bit but dies with a java file not found warning when I
double click the .desktop file. The same thing happens when I run the above in
a terminal window (from folder ~).
If I change my working directory to ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Flygprestanda
on the terminal and then run the exec line above it works normally.
So it seems that there are 2 things: 1) we don't support %windir% properly when
it's in the middle of the file path, and 2) we need to set the working
directory to whatever the path was before the %windir%

I have the Direct2Drive version of Neverwinter Nights 2. It installed
apparently fine with the usual problems with patches, When I run it, it reports

I have not found the cause myself, but this thread

seems to indicate that the cause is generated code by recent gcc.
I have no idea the primary cause, so i thought to punt it to the pros, so you
could find it and report to gcc and/or workaround the bug.

I get the following error trying to run Unmechanical from GOG:

updated testcase rcp(0)*0
attaching updated patch with testcase, that can apply to current git
it reproduces the problem (rcp(0)*0). Result on geforce 8800:
visual.c:4238: Test failed: Color is 00ffffff, expected 000000

Quite possibly there are more. At the moment, it seems to only affect Nvidia,
but not because of a driver bug - rather, it seems that a behavior undefined in
GLSL is triggered:
on native, DirectX <= 9: rcp(0)*0 == Inf*0 == 0 (DirectX >= 10 has different
rules)
in GLSL: Inf*0 == undefined; in practice, appears to be NaN on nvidia vs 0 on
ATI (Intel graphics probably same a ATI) at the moment, that's why people can't
see this on Intel or ATI; can easily change in the future though.
With GLSL specs as they currently are, and without some kind of extension to
deal with this problem, the "technically valid" solution might be something
like what is suggested in bug #34266:
"dest = mix(vecN(0), a * b, equal(a, vecN(0)) || equal(b, vecN(0)))"
But Henri Verbeet said there that this is probably too costly performance-wise.

Still an issue with wine 1.7.4
Both the wine taskmgr and eve online monitor reports 0K memory usage.

Could you try this patch?
With the patch, wine synthesizes bold outline faces. This is very useful to
East Asian users especially because most CJK fonts don't have a bold face.
I've posted wine-patches the other day, but I get no responses yet.

I suspect the error is related to this commit:

In any event, the live build (I'm on gentoo, so this package is "wine-9999" for

Game shows its first startup window, but when I press "Play", error message is
shown. Message is unreadable - it is localization bug. Error dialog's title
says about something wrong with models.
Game worked in wine-1.3.18 and before, and doesn't work in 1.3.20 and 1.3.21. I
can't test the game in 1.3.19 because wine-1.3.19 doesn't compile on my Gentoo,
but there are some messages on game's forum saying it works in 1.3.19 too.

It should be relatively straightforward now that we have a GLSL based fixed
function vertex pipe. I'm fairly busy with other things myself at the moment,
but if someone wanted to look into this, shader_glsl_find_ffp_vertex_shader() /
shader_glsl_generate_ffp_vertex_shader() would probably be a good place to
start looking. It would probably be a good idea to clean some things up first,
like e.g. using generic vertex attributes instead of the legacy fixed function
ones.

Same results for 1.5.30 - py2exe builds fine but does not include python27.dll,
and running the built programs fails. Copying python27.dll to the build
directory makes things work.

The cause of this bug is:
Starcraft uses the Direct-Draw api of Direct-X 3.
It allows the painting of a bitmap directly on the active screen.
Then the program paints buttons on the transparent surface0 which under the old
windows xp/2000/nt4/ME/98/95 was the active surface.
Wine doesn't handle the painting of bitmaps on the active screen without a
surface... it creates surface0 on which it paints the bitmaps... then hides
them as soon as the buttons surface is created, edited, updated or refreshed...
Wine doesn't handle the transparency of surface1 and paints it black.
DISCUSSION / BRAINSTORMING : Maybe a fix would be to handle the direct-draw
active screen as a surface instead of a screen... A Question... Surface1 would
be Surface0 under windows?
You see the bitmap then you paint the buttons on a transparent surface.
Wine doesn't have a surface behind the surface0 on which the buttons and
battle.net frame are so it creates one, but doesn't know how to handle it when
starcraft tells wine to handle frames and buttons on surface0/1...

There are failing calls to GetProcAddress for SetSearchPathMode,
InitializeConditionVariable, ShutdownBlockReasonDestroy,
ShutdownBlockReasonCreate, and ChangeWindowMessageFilterEx,
but since none of those were in that version of windows, that's probably
not the cause...?

Hello,
I've saw that Unity3D 4.1.2 works with Wine 1.6-rc5 here -

I've followed the instructions tried same thing with Unity3D 4.1.5 and Wine 1.6
and it fails. It installs great, starts great, loads projects great but after
hitting play 3D scene disappears completely. Im attaching screenshots what's
problem is. Unity3D is unusable without working in-editor view.

Wine version is 1.6. Clean installation from repository, no compiling.

It can be empty.
After it Unity installs and runs great. Remember creating new project doesn't
work yet (already on bugzilla). Open sample project instead created by Unity3D
installation program and just hit play. It should be easy to reproduce 3D view
bug.
Im looking forward to hearing from You because i can't work on Linux.

I have been unable to run any d3d app in wine on the new 2011 MacBook Pros with
the AMD Radeon HD 6490M gpu. Any attempts to launch a d3d app in wine causes an
error dialog at which point the only option is to terminate wine.
Tthe fact that the card is not listed in the gpu_description_table in directx.c
I suspect is the most likely cause, however simply adding it there with vendor
and card ids does not appear to work either so I am clearly missing something.
The vendor id for the card is 0x1002 (HW_VENDOR_AMD) and the card id is 0x6760,
memory is 256m. I tried using DRIVER_AMD_R600 for the driver.

SIV fails to report the workgroup name. This is caused by
NetGetJoinInformation() being a stub. Please can it be fixed?
When I run SIV the log typically starts:

The launcher for "Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter" doesn't register form
submissions. After filling in your account name and password and clicking "Log
in", nothing happens. Clicking the "Log in" button produces the following 4
errors each time:

commandline output when running "wine MinitroidTechDemo.exe"
The Minitroid tech demo does no start. When I run MinitroidTechDemo.exe,
before any window appears it pops up the following error message:

When first running Wine after installation, the prefix gets created or updated.
Under Wine 1.6rc5, wine (running wineboot?) seems to get into an infinite loop.
If you try to launch other Wine program, they hand for a few minutes before
finally continuing with the message "err:process:__wine_kernel_init boot event
wait timed out". After killing the initial runaway wine process, the problem
seems to go away.
When trying to install Steam, msiexec also gets into an endless loop. There is,
again, a runaway wine process taking up a whole CPU. However, in this case,
other wine programs can launch normally while msiexec is stuck.

backtrace from the error occured during installation of JRE 7
Java Runtime Environment (jre-7u13-windows-i586.exe) installs fine. At the end
the installer tries to call a file remove.exe and fails. I think remove.exe
should clean up and delete unnecessary files from the installation process.
Still JRE 7 works fine for me, but I only used it to install/run the FlexNet
Publisher License Server Manager.

Install works fine (after sh winetricks mfc42), as does setting up config using
"UruSetup.exe", but as soon as you click play, it begins to load (starts
UruExplorer.exe) and the screen goes totally black. Wine then becomes

Hi Damjan. I see that, in 2011, you sent a patch[1] to resolve this issue;
thank you very much.
The patch still applies to Git HEAD without problems. And it looks like
tests/progman_dde.c,[2] by Mikey Alexander, covers your patch. It would be
good if your patch's functionality got into Wine. I wonder if you could please
resend it and let us know what the patch status page[3] reports? Maybe this
time a committer will accept it. While resending it, please do point out that
nobody replied, and it looks[4] like nobody even looked at it, and so you are
resending it now, two years later.

Running recent versions of Wine (1.3.25 or 1.3.26) causes "Cuban Missile
Crisis: The Aftermath" (known also as "The Day After: Fight for Promised Land")
to hang during startup with a message similar to:
err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x7efec8e4 "loader.c:
loader_section" wait timed out in thread 001f, blocked by 0009, retrying (60
sec)
I cannot test this as currently I'm not in possesion of suitable software but
there is a possibility that other games using the Enigma engine might suffer in
the same way: Blitzkrieg, Blitzkrieg 2, Stalingrad. This needs confirmation
though.

I'm using Debian Sid, with Linux 3.10. My graphic card is an Intel HD Graphics
4000. I've compiled Wine 1.6 (32 bits) and have been able to install and update
Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty successfully. However, when I try to run the
game, I get a pop-up with the following text:
"Failed to initialize DirectX. You may need to reinstall DirectX. If the
problem persists, for more information consult our support website at
http://www.starcraft2.com/support."

The Sims backtrace when running in Win 98 mode (game designed for)
The game "The Sims" (v.1) crashes on startup and does not run. Oddly, when
running Wine in Win 95 or 98 mode (which is what the game is designed for), I
get a number of error messages asking to set Wine to NT4.0 or 3.1 (see log:
sims98.txt). These do not appear when I run in NT4.0 (see log: simsnt4.txt) or
in XP mode (sims.txt).

Dan, I'll do as I said in the previous comment, I hope you don't mind.
Since this bug was closed abandoned I'll leave it as fixed for further closing
in the next release with the original commit that added the empty
implementations in 2004 (does that make sense? should we close immediately?).

Ideally I'd have a greasemonkey script to turn that
into a link, but failing that, I'd like a really quick
way to search for that bug on bugs.winehq.org.
Now, you can of course click on the search box
and type in the number, but that's one click too
many; why isn't the search box focused by default?
So that's the first issue. The second issue is that
wine lacks a short URL to link to bugs. You ought
to be able to do
bugs.winehq.org/NNNN
to link to bug NNNN. Several other big projects have
such a shortcut (gcc, chromium), it'd be nice if wine did.

winecfg on Mac OSX (10.5.6 and .7) does not link "My Videos" etc. to the
equivalent directories on the Mac. Everything is linked to $HOME (or was it
Desktop/?) instead. What a pity!
Mac OSX uses directories named Documents/, Pictures/, Videos/, Music/ -- even
in the German locale. The Finder GUI provides localized names. Unlike
XDG/Gnome there are no crazy hacks at session begin to rename directories based
on the session's locale.
I don't know how earlier releases of Mac OSX behave, i.e. whether these
directories have always been present. Does anyone have a reference?
I located the relevant places that would need a patch:
dlls/shell32/shellpath.c:_SHCreateSymbolicLinks
and possibly
dlls/shell32/xdg.c:XDG_UserDirLookup
However, some design issues are unclear to me:
- Where to add the Mac check?
- When to check for a folder named "My Documents" (MS-Windows non-localized
name in English locale), and when for "Documents" (MacOS constant name)?
- Use XDG on the Mac or not? (if linked in, e.g. possibly when compiled via
MacPorts, which pulls in a zillion libraries. Apple does not provide
libfreedesktop.)

Small test of strtoul showing bad behaviour with 64bit wine
Howdy ho, I and Lee were messing around with some 64bit applications built via
mingw, and much to our chagrin, something was reading the numbers incorrectly.
We got the expected results on native Linux, native Windows (both mingw and
msvc bins tested), but not on 64bit wine IF we built with mingw.
Investigating, we tracked it down to wine's implementation of strtoul.
I've written up a small test case showing our use of strtoul. It should also
reliably reproduce the errors provided it is...
1. built as a 64bit Windows application;
2. strtoul is not inlined;
3. It's executed in wine

Launcher.exe output
Installing World of Warcraft fresh.
Following various people's help around the Internet, I was able to get
Launcher.exe to run for a little while, then it crashed again changing game
availability status.
Now when I run `wine Launcher.exe` or start it using a launcher, it doesn't run
and I get the messages in the attachment.

Found while playing Lemmings Revolution; the game starts but when you start
moving the mouse, it doesn't listen to what you want it to do.
See the movie attached: drunk-cursor.ogv.
In the movie, I'm trying to start a new game and when I finally was able to get
to the button, I'm trying to select a level (which fails).
Also attached, is all output while starting the game, moving around in the main
menu and exiting.

Compressed file with two screen shots
I have some Windows programs, with windows like WINDOSXP.JPG. (See compressed
attachment.) When I run them with wine they look like LINUX.JPG. The program
works just fine, but as can be seen there are two new features in the Linux
screens:
green and red backgrounds pop up and the green one hides some of the buttons.
It is possible to find the buttons above only above the right part, but you
must be very careful with the mouse. The programs come with a large database,
so they are hard to submit. If I by some means can provide a trace and or debug
information I will do so.

FF5 crash log
Falcon 4.0 Allied Force and FreeFalcon 5.0 do not detect hardware rendering
devices, instead only using "DirectDraw" software rendering mode. While this is
only a nuisance in AF(low FPS), FF5 crashes without a hardware rendering device
present, as soon as you start a flying session.
I don't remember if the original Falcon 4.0 has a similar issue, but it should
be less of a problem there as it supports Glide and you can use a Glide wrapper
to get hardware rendering(it detected a Glide wrapper as a valid Glide device
for me).
I don't know if there are any other logs to be attached, so I only attached the
FF5.0 crash log.

Since the latest update on July 10 2012, the launcher of Star Wars: The Old
Republic displays wrongly, making it unusable so that the game can not be
started.
It appears that the launcher is drawn at an incorrect offset (you can still see
its top-left-ish corner in the bottom-right corner of the area the launcher is
normally shown.
This happens in both wine 1.5.8 patched with the fix for bug 29168, as well as
a stock wine 1.4-rc1.

Once you log in, you are taken to the main window, with a nice big PLAY
button at the top. The rest of the window is mostly blank; it shold show
News items on the left, and a column of buttons on the right.

While running League of Legends (either using a compiled, patched 1.5.8, or
using PoL 1.5.5-league) the minimap is corrupted (it is there, but something
else/blocky is being drawn over it.
I can workaround it in game, but turning vsync on/off multiple times until it
clears. This must be done for each game, so can be a very annoying workaround.
No idea if this is graphics/driver/or wine related, so not sure what logs/ect
would be most helpful.
I'm new to wine/linux - so any requests for data would be faster if the actual
command lines to attempt to run are given.
running Intel I5-3570k
listed graphics is VESA:CYPRESS - but it is GIGABYTE GV-R585D5-1GD-B Radeon HD
5850 (Cypress Pro) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5
os ubuntu 12.04 lts 32-bit (I might try 64 bit sometime after people stop

FFFTP option panel (wine 1.2 rc4 on Ubuntu 10.04)
FFFTP is a famous FTP client software in Japan. Its web page is
http://www2.biglobe.ne.jp/~sota/ffftp-e.html . And its source is available
under new BSD license.
I use Japanese version of FFFTP in Japanese locale (LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8) on Ubuntu
10.04.
On the wine environment, FFFTP's option panel shows only the first line of the
legend.

The benchmark seems to crash on startup.
Workaround is either to run in a virtual desktop.
I'll attach a +d3d,+relay,+seh log, but it doesn't seem too illuminating.

When running StarCraft in full screen, the mouse will move past the edge of the
game screen on the bottom and right edges, causing the whole game screen to
scroll up or to the left, respectively, and off of the monitor.
Clicking on empty space within the game generally causes the game to regain
control of the cursor so that it can't go past the edge of the game any more
and the screen will only scroll on the left and top edges, until it's panned
back to it's proper position, but any number of in game actions (clicking items
in the hud, using command hotkeys, etc.) will cause it to lose control of the
cursor and pan away from the game again. The "Automatically capture mouse"
option in the graphics tab does not fix the problem, nor do any of the other
check boxes there. It seems that the game is both failing to maintain capture
of the mouse, and leaving the panning resolution at my original desktop
resolution of 1920x1080 when it changes the display resolution to 640x480.
Fixing either of these problems would render the other irrelevant, as the
cursor either wouldn't be allowed to move into the extra black space, or there
wouldn't be any extra black space for it to move into.
The inconvenient workaround I've been using is to manually set my desktop
resolution (and hence the panning resolution) to 640x480 in the NVIDIA X Server
Settings before running the game.

I built wine 1.7.2 from Git. uname -a reports "Linux freekbox 3.2.0-41-generic
#66-Ubuntu SMP Thu Apr 25 03:28:09 UTC 2013 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux". Same
behavior with wine 1.4 installed via apt-get.
I'm attempting to execute maxima.exe as installed from maxima-5.31.1.exe at
Sourceforge (http://sf.net/p/maxima). I can execute some Windows so it is not a
general problem.
wine path/to/maxima.exe immediately exits with no error message.
WINEDEBUG=warn+all,err+all wine path/to/maxima.exe prints a lot of stuff
including, towards the end, several messages about not finding "%1.dll". See

I guess %1.dll is a malformed file name -- somewhere along the line, the name
of the DLL wasn't filled in, I guess. The bug, as I see it, is that Wine did
not correctly construct the DLL file name.
Other people have run into this bug, to judge by the results of Googling for
%1.dll. However, I did not find the bug reported here.

Tygem Baduk is my favorite game. Previously I play it in Windows. But since I
got a new PC and changed to Ubuntu for development, I am tired to switch
between Ubuntu and Windows. I installed Wine 1.4 then download TygemBaduk
installer from www.tygemgo.com then execute it using Wine. The installer run
very quick but obviously not correct since it lacks the basic steps like ask
you for installation path etc. After it shows installation complete an error
dialog pop up. I saved it and attached here.

The initial window that comes up is nonfunctional; content doesn't show, and
you can't proceed to the game. 'winetricks ie6' works around this.
To reproduce at the moment, follow the appdb's howto, i.e.
patch wine to get around bug 20296 and bug 21870, and do a full install from
e.g.
http://www.fileplanet.com/204655/200000/fileinfo/League-of-Legends-Client-%…
to get past bug 22152.
Then do
cd ~/.wine/drive_c/"Riot Games/League of Legends"
wine lol.launcher.exe
and let it update overnight. When it's ready, you should see some news
items, and clicking on Play should do something.
Doing 'winetricks ie6' works around it; marking mshtml.dll as wine-only
recreates the problem, and when you click on Play, you see log entries like
