fixme:typelib2:ctl2_alloc_custdata Unknown variable encoding vt 3.

Are you sure this is a comctl32 bug? I only needed to copy snmpapi.dll to wine's

not improve the game at all.
I can't really play the game because it's in Italian. I also find it odd that a
simple game needs snmp capabilities.

games regularly starts, and no errors to my shell window.
But all images in game buttons are altered (and no sound..) so the game is useless..

I have my doubts whether the lack of Shockwave is the cause. But you could try
going to:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=Shockwave…
You can get to there by
http://www.adobe.com/downloads/
Then clicking shockwave, followed be the "Standalone Installer" link in the
instructions. The downloaded file, Shockwave_Installer_Slim.exe, runs fine under
Wine and installs the SwSupport.dll dll into windows/system32/Macromed/Common.
And the TaxCut installer does find it then.
In general, you can find out what DLLs are found by setting the WINEDEBUG
environment variable to +loaddll.
It would be interesting to know what happens next on a real Windows system. On
my Win2000 system, I also get the splash screen, followed by the grey window. So
I am assuming at that point it should attempt to read another file off the CD.
When running the installer, be sure to for change to the CD directory, that is:
cd /mnt/cdrom (or wherever)
and then
wine TaxCut.exe
Some installers are picky about that.
I'll poke around a bit more and see if anything jumps out at me.

Make sure you run Weatherscope with the full path. For the default install
options, this would be:
wine c:\\Program\ Files\\Weathersoft\\Weatherscope.exe
Otherwise, the only reason I can think of it crashing is because you're having
OpenGL problems. For me, Weatherscope runs great under wine 0.9.29 (and earlier).

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7102
------- Additional Comments From felix.huber(a)schyf.de 2007-13-01 04:13 -------
The problem visible to the user is that whenever Winword6 is trying to check for
the NON-existence of a file or path, the console where wine was started from
shows the error message
fixme:int21:INT21_GetExtendedError Unknown error 123
where actually nothing is wrong. After that, the creation and removal of
temporary files is undetermined.
I was able to track the cause for this behaviour upto the ntdll and back:
1) Application calls GetFileAttributes with a non-existing path
2) The call is processed in int21.c and forwarded to ntdll
3) ntdll calls the linux function to check for the path requested
4) ntdll returns the internal error code 0xC0000033
5) This error code is mapped to the non-existing DOS/WIN error number 123
6) GetFileAttributes returns this error 123 to the application
... internal application processing
7) Application calls INT21_GetExtendedError
8) int21.c doesn't know this error number and generates the fixme:message
So the problem is that ntdll uses an error code that int21 doesn't know about.
In my view, all the error numbers within the WINE functions should be
consistent. I would have sent in a patch, but I was not sure which was the place:
1) Change ntdll to return 0xC0000034 (file not found) instead of 0xC0000033
(invalid name)
2) Create a special case in GetFileAttributes to catch error 123 and map it to
DOS/WIN errror 2 (file not found)
3) Update INT21_GetExtendedError to map error 123 to error 2.
Option 3 would have the smallest side effect, however, the non-existing DOS/WIN
error code 123 would still be visible to the application when GetFileAttributes
returns.

Why is this marked as RESOLVED FIXED?
There is no fix here.
Because this was showing FIXED I just attempted the Office 97 install. I
received the same error.
The programs are not fully installed and will not run properly.
E.g., Office shows nothing but toolbar and Excel errors-out when trying to
create a graph(my ONLY reason for installing MS OS SW...).

her PC), i then get a bigger gray window, and all action stops. the log is
attached. clearly i'm missing the macromedia libs, but i can't really tell in
the log which libs are eventually satisfied, and which aren't. (for instance,
there are still warnings about not finding msdart.dll, but no message saying it
was found.)
as for macromedia -- do i need to install a windows version of this, or is wine
looking for the unix version of this?
thanks again for all your help. if this bug should be closed, and the thread
taken back to the list, just let me know.

Yes, I see I misread pABC for lpABC which is also used in that

shfldr_nethood implementation from crossover 6.0.0
Here's the My Network Places implementation from Crossover 6.0.0 source tree.
It gives some integer type warnings (%lu vs. %u), but seems to work OK. I
compiled the Ubuntu Edgy package with this and the half-proprietary Java
application can now browse the filesystem.
Using
- 64bit Ubuntu Edgy (installed the package with --force-architecture)
- i586 JRE6
BTW, it seems like JRE6 works much better that previous versions, for example
Calendar stuff works too (there was something wrong with locales and/or
timezones with Java 1.4.x and 1.5.x IIRC)

If you disable "Minimise to tray", then the window is still drawn after
switching workspaces.
If you enable "Minimise to tray", after you switch workspaces, right-click the
DC++ system tray icon and click "Show" -> the window start being drawn again.
Is this a bug in wine? Should wine minimise the window when you switch
workspaces, or should DC++ be told its window isn't minimised when you switch back?

I tracked down the exact cause, it's in USP10's ScriptPlace(). For some reason,
one machine running Google Earth calls ScriptPlace() while the other machine
does not. I'm guess this is due to different LANG/LANGUAGE environment variable
settings?
Anyway, in commit e0c38f, you removed the following lines:
pABC->abcA = 0;
pABC->abcB = 0;
pABC->abcC = 0;
and now these variables are no longer initialized, and their return values are
garbage. I can post a +ups debug trace if needed.

The inability to place new elements bug can be fixed by commenting out a line in
the dlls/user32/dialog.c file (in the 0.9.29 version it is line 894: if (hwnd ==
GetActiveWindow()) WINPOS_ActivateOtherWindow( hwnd );).
Basically, I think this problem is caused by the window that the object is being
placed in losing focus when the dialog box for entering the data closes. This
causes the window to "lose its grip" of the element being placed, and when focus
returns to the window it no longer thinks it is placing an object. (The same
thing can be simulated in Windows - if you are in the middle of placing an
object, press Alt-Tab to switch to another application, then Alt-Tab again to
switch back to Orcad - the placing of an object is no longer occurring).
For now, I just get around this by removing the above mentioned line and
recompiling WINE. I don't really know enough about the sequencing of events in
WINE after a dialog box closes to submit this as a valid patch or to produce a
valid compliance test for it, however with this line removed I have not noticed
any side-effects with Orcad or other applications that I use with WINE.

The "AMT_WriteRemoveFileEntry" action problem is a bug in MsiGetPropertyA that
we don't emulate.
Adobe products use MsiGetPropertyA in custom actions to fetch the value of
various properties like this:
char *get_prop( const char *name )
{
UINT r;
DWORD sz;
char *str;
/* sz is meant to be the size in TCHARs excluding nul */
r = MsiGetPropertyA( handle, name, NULL, &sz);
if (r != ERROR_SUCCESS || sz == 0) return NULL;
/* sz would be too short here.... */
str = HeapAlloc(GetProcessHeap(), 0, sz);
MsiGetPropertyA( handle, name, NULL, &sz);
if (r != ERROR_SUCCESS || sz == 0) goto error;
return str;
error:
/* log a message and fail */
...
}
The above code works in the installer, but we have a number of test cases
showing that it shouldn't.
The code is run in the context of a custom action. After writing a test case
for the above code in a custom action, the problem was apparent.
MsiGetPropertyA has a bug in this case; it returns the size of the wide string
in bytes.
eg. if the property value is "Photoshop.dll" it returns 26, not 13, so the above
code works.

My comment on MOO2 in the Wine Application Database at
http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=210&iTestingId=7374
says:
"Beginning with the early 2005 releases of Wine, when running MOO2 the sound
tends to stutter badly, and it locks up if you so much as move the cursor too
quickly."
Now I wish I had been more specific! Still, does that help narrow it down? I
remeber that I used to play MOO2 in Wine with no problems when I used to run
Xandros 1.x, back in 2004. I searched a bit, but couldn't come up with a more
specific timeframe or version -- sorry.

Here is a suggested algorithm for handling missing shaped glyphs in the font,
from Ahmed Kamal:
Any character can take up to 4 forms (Initial, medial, final, isolated)
1- If Initial is missing => Use Medial form
2- If Medial is missing => Use Isolated form
3- If Final is missing => Use Isolated form
The isolated form is the one defined in the main Unicode area for Arabic, and so
must not be missing in any font presuming to contain Arabic letters.

The shaping part of this bug has a (temporary) patch waiting commit. The rest of
the bug is tightly related to bug #1425, but I'm not sure if it's tightly enough
to declare this a duplicate of 1425 or not.
The core problem is related to an optimization done to the edit control that
causes it to only redraw the parts it think were affected. As the edit contol is
unaware of BiDi, it always redraws the rightmost part, which is the wrong part
to redraw in case of RTL languages.
The Windows Edit control redraws the entire affected line. This used to be the
case for Wine several years ago, but was "optimized" to the current behaviour
due to the flicker that the original approach caused, posibly due to our drawing
code not being as opimized as the Windows part at the time.
As a quick solution to this problem we can restore the "repaint whole line"
behaviour if the line has any RTL sequences in it.
I'm looking for a sponsor who will help me commit time to BiDi on Wine, and a
rewritten Edit control is, probably, the biggest job on that task list.

Warhammer Dawn of War officially supports: win98,win2000.winxp,win2003
As wine defaults to win2000, there should be no problem. I still tried all

But, I read in another thread here that the windowmanager should be off, and
that cured something. I now see a window welcoming me to the installation, on

I have in /wine-0.9.29/fonts/ directory both FON and FNT files. Another way I
tryied original font from windows converted via wine tools. Same problem.
When I changed in System.reg in section software/microsoft/windows
nt/currentversion/fonts font setting to "Ms Sans Serif"="arial.ttf". Font
arial is displayed except ms sans.. and text angle now works (also in tabsheet
with right tabs too!).
Is FON or FNT font bitmap or vector ? Is possible that wine has not
implemented bitmap font rotation?
Another case is BOLD style for this font.. I cannot see MS SANS SERIF in
bold - it's still displayed as normal. With true type like arial it works:/

the splash screen comes up, followed by what I guess is the installer window.

Well, on my Win2K system, it looks like that class ID is registered to the file:
c:\Program Files\Common Files\System\ado\msado15.dll
A bit of a strange place, at least to me. I don't know whether WinXP comes with
that by default, but you might want to take a look. If the CD expects the system
to already have them, then maybe they are a standard part of WinXP.
Anyway, I installed msado15.dll and msadox.dll into my Wine windows/system32
directory, and then registered them:
regsrv32 msado15.dll
regsrv32 msadox.dll
With that, the installer (from Scott) runs. I don't have the CD, so I can't test
beyond that point.

ipv6 support in Wine is mostly non-existent. We should create
a meta-bug for it but I suspect it will get a low priority for some
time to come.
For this particular bug it would be nice if you could pin down the
exact APIs lacking in ipv6 support. Maybe do a +netapi,+winsock
trace and attach it here?

For me Unreal Tournament work perfectly with Wine for years. But this doesn't
mean actually that this bug what you have is because of misconfiguration. Maybe
your version of Unreal Tournament is different. If so then it is possible that
it works perfectly for me and not very well for you.
Also make sure that you have dinput disabled (you can disable it in the Options
menu in game) and havn't dll overrides (UT should work perfectly with built-in
dlls).

Hello!
I'd like to have OpenAL support in Wine. An implementation relaying to the

(Please tell me if this exists allready. In that case it probably wasn't
