The other 2 dlls you mention should be in civilzatoion's directory. They are (probably) not missing, but fail to load because of the missing msvcr71 and msvcp71. I can input special characters in firefox, so it must be due to flash player, but as normal flashplayer on linux does support those special characters, i guess it has to do something with wine emulation. Some buttons are missing from the palettes and resizing them causes the X server to freeze, which is quite annoying since they are misplaced at startup. To make the appear correctly: Window -> Workspace -> Reset palette localtions. Also the palettes are always-on-top even when the photoshop window isnt. The URL gives a self-extracting EXE named pz2z18us.exe. This self-extracting archive unpacks a setup program and cab files. The inner setup program fails. It is supposed to create a bootable floppy disk. It doesn't get that far. Tested on a fresh install of Ubuntu 6.0.6.1 x86 (32 bit) with a fresh install of WINE 0.9.20. This is in fact the first WINE test I ran, so there was no prior WINE corruption at all. I have a stack dump but you should also be able to generate your own. Forgive me if this bug is already in the database, I did look. I know you have been working hard on MSI and installer issues so I thought you would appreciate this report, whether it bears directly on that or not. And I just discovered that when disabling "Let window manager control windows" in winecfg is unset, I can see the screen with OpenGL enabled and connect to Battle.Net. Maybe XFCE doesn't handle the mode switch correctly. I tried with both main sound engines. ALSA and OSS plops in the same way. Have not tried Jack (not installed) or others, but I assume it will happen on every sound engine. When I reported the bug, it was Gentoo 2006.0 stage. In Gentoo StarCraft actually worked in Battle.Net when run as Root (Comment #3). With Ubuntu, it doesn't work at all in Software mode. Maybe that helps you. This bug was fixed for nvidia users a while ago. There were remaining similar bugs with ATI that have gotten fixed in 0.9.20 and git trees. The graphics vertices problem should be fixed in 0.9.20 or later too. I seriously recommend trying the latest git tree or 0.9.21. As for the problem starting WoW, it has been fixed now, and it's shown that you don't have a problem with starting WoW either. However, there's many fonts left in a vertical tax application that we are using - toolbars, dialogs, listboxes... screenshot attached. I don't know how they set their font properties, but it's done in a way that the registry's dpi setting has no effects. I wonder how, in the test page, this application is marked as tested and running. OpenGL vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation OpenGL renderer string: GeForce 6800 LE/AGP/SSE2 OpenGL version string: 2.0.2 NVIDIA 87.62 The demo seems to run perfect. I don't see that corruption (my Stubbs has a head and a body) and even the post-processing effects (to make the game look like a movie from the 50ies) seem to work properly. Perhaps the reporter is having an unfitting gfx card? Or ATi? I started investigating if we could use WINE as a method to allow us to use the Neon mail client called MEMO. I opened a bug 6018 which I closed since it was my first attempt and my environment was quite crappy from wines point of view. Now I have compiled 0.9.19 and have successfully opend the memoclient.exe! I can se my mailbox, I see new mails popping in highlited with a new mail symbol in frontof them, I can even go into the scheduler - highlite a timespan and create a newevent with memoedit (it failed though with adding other participants (my machine started to swap as a maniac - we don't use the scheduler so we can live without it!)). The part that is important is to be able to open the emails with memoedit.exe or create new ones... But here it crashes with an runtime error as shown in the screendump I will attach. I believe I have a log as well otherwise I will recreate the error an later attach the log! Testing with Wine 0.9.20, AIM still doesn't seem to ever get past the console. It starts up spits out a few error messages, waits a few minutes, then quits. No graphics are ever displayed.
