Summary: Fresh IDE crashes on '.' character entry
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.10.
Platform: PC
URL: http://fresh.flatassembler.net/
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: critical
Priority: P2
Component: wine-misc
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: mccpat(a)gmail.com
I can run Fresh pretty well with Wine 0.9.10; however, when I press the '.'
(period) character once or a number of times repeatedly, it crashes. I can
reproduce it every time.
If it's relevant (it may be), I'm using Xorg-x11 6.9, with the NVIDIA 1.0-8178
drivers (patched for Linux 2.6.16), Linux kernel 2.6.16. I'm only thinking this
may be relevant because in the built-in 'notepad' program, all characters I
enter are rectangles.
I used Fresh Alpha 1.1.3, from the link above. You can view the dumps and
backtrace <a href="http://rafb.net/paste/results/Fi0KGF42.html"
target="blank">here.</a>

redirect them into log file 'wine blah.exe &> /tmp/log.txt' and allatch
"log.txt" to this bug.

Hi.
We have now comment #70 with a lot attachments and we are no step forward since
ages.
I have no Idea, how to write my comments that you understad the question and do,
what I ask you.
The Problem:
- ISS@VFP9 call "OpenPrinter" with a Printername, that has a leading Space
The bug can be located almost everywhere in wine.
We want to try "msvcrt.dll" first.
1) Please create a log on a recent wine-version with "msvcrt.dll" as builtin,
that shows the Problem with the leading Space.
2) Please create a log on the same machine with a native "msvcrt.dll".
Is the leading Space still present?
3) When the Problem is visible in both logfiles, then do not attach the logs.
They wont help.
Please read my comments careful.
> As I mentioned before, I need a Trace from a Machine, that has the Issue with
> the leading Space in the Printername.
> When bzip2 does not work, then please use gzip.
The log in your comment #68 has no "OpenPrinter" with a leading Space.

The regression was caused by this patch
b54e9e94e98624acde1bb00e10c2055dfed9c2d7 (2006-01-11 20:59:26)
server: Don't round up the header size for image mappings.
It caused wine to fail with
wine: could not load L"D:\\autorun.exe" as Win32 binary
when running the autorun.
The following patch removed this error, but it did not make the autorun program
run, only play a part of its intro sound then exit, without displaying anything.

I experience this with Warcraft 3.
Things i found out so far:
1)before the deadlock no exception is thrown (observed by running with +seh)
2)running with winedbg attached and setting a breakpoint on:
[1]: 0x7b82bb18 NtTerminateThread in kernel32
and [2]: 0x7bc58211 NtTerminateThread+0x1 [dlls/ntdll/thread.c:579] in ntdll
didn't trigger any of the breakpoints.
As far as i understood julliard and TD the only remaining possible cause for
blocked by 0 is that the critical section was somehow overwritten.
(I have tons of logs about this, some with it seems not realy usefull baktraces,
if anyone is interested...)

Where do I find the crash backtrace? Sorry, I'm new to all this... and
googling didn't really help.
Though I probably shouldn't say Finale "crashed", but rather that it hang, and
I had to manually kill it. The same thing probably happens in Finale Notepad
too, but I haven't checked that yet (will do so soon). The good thing about
Finale Notepad is that you can get it free from Codamusic (www.codamusic.com).

one. No error messages are registered anywhere.
Still when I close the drawn window WINE doesn't stop running, the terminal is
not released, and run in desktop emulation mode WINE draw two desktops (one
empty and one with the window that is always drawn).
I tried to remove the "~/.wine" folder, but it didn't help.
This happen on iRU L1514 Combo laptop (Transmeta-based with SiS chipset and

This bug is not noticeably triggered by any command, but around 15-30 minutes
into my Finale 2006 session, several commands start to malfunction, and the
only fix is to restart Finale itself. On the surface it looks more like a set
of bugs, but all of them happen at around the same time, so I assume they have
some kind of connection. Also, there are rare times when the bug(s) manifests
itself right after Finale starts.
1. "Drag and drop" copy and pasting no longer works (in the Mass Mover tool).
However, manually using "copy" and "paste" does work, though it probably uses
different code (noticeably slower).
2. Both the expression selection dialog box and the measure expression
assignment dialog box (in the Expression tool) no longer open when I double
click on the score, and an expression (usually "ff") is automatically
selected, and put on the score with the default settings used for the measure
expression assignment dialog box (on all staves, etc).
3. The smart shape tool does not work, and when I try to create a smart shape,
it gives me a letter where the shape is supposed to be (I remember that slurs
became "B"s).

Thanks - your regression testing fu is way beyond mine,
I was still zeroing in on it.
I'm looking forward to a beefy cxtest.org setup

The Summary told the Problem, but my Discription was not clear enought,
as it should be. Sorry for that.
When I try to install a Package, that does not exists
(typo with the name or current directory wrong),
i get a Message-Box on winxp, that told me, that something failed.
http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=2143&action=view
On wine, i get only this console-output:
-----
dosdevices/c:$ wine msiexec -i file_does_not_exists.msi
fixme:msi:MsiInstallProductW L"file_does_not_exists.msi" (null)
err:msi:copy_package_to_temp failed to copy package to temp path
L"C:\\tmp\\MSI36f.tmp"
fixme:msi:MSI_OpenDatabaseW open failed r = 80030002!
-----
Which User can Read from this output, what went wrong?
When i filled the bug, i updated wine and then want to test PDFCreator.
My first idea was "the update broke msi", but then i realized, that my
current Directory was wrong and msiexec was unable to find the File.
(TechBot: 0x80030002 is STG_E_FILENOTFOUND)
Hope, that helps.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply. I was quite amazed.
I have tried doing what you said but I ran into the following errors:

err:module:import_dll Library vcl60.bpl (which is needed by L"C:\\Program

... over and over
Do I need something special installed? Maybe you have the cvs version and not
0.9.10?
Thanks,
Stephan

My dear Anton.
Your problem is one of the uglyst Bugs in Wine.
It is reproted more than a couple of time here in Bugzilla and for some reason
the developer of wine dont have the knoweledge or the profession to solve this
probleme or they dont want to fix this Internet bug in wine.
Maybe they have first to crack windows to look have the hole Internet thing in
windows work before they implement it in wine. I dont know why exactly this very
ugly Internt Bug is still not solved in wine.
Your problem is the Timeout of Internet Connection.
If you look your Error report you will find the following message
http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=2142&action=view
fixme:wininet:InternetSetOptionW Option INTERNET_OPTION_CONNECT_TIMEOUT (12000):
STUB
If you go now to my 300 Bugnumbers before reported Bug with the number 4689 you
will find the same error message and the answer why does the application crash.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4689#c6
"fixme:wininet:InternetSetOptionW Option INTERNET_OPTION_CONNECT_TIMEOUT (800):
STUB"
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4689http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4689#c1
I have voted for your Bug.
Please change the status of your Bug to Critical or Blocker so it can be handle
it by the developers.
I cant belive that this very ugly Internet Bug isnt allready solved by the
developers of wine.

It has been discussed before that it is ok to forward certain bugs to wine-devel
once a patch can be easily implemented. As for the broken PE Headers being
bypassed by M$'s tests, I was not aware of that. In that case, yes you are
right, and the patch submitted would be a good fix. Of course, the better fix
would be to get in touch with the app developers and let them know that their
headers are broken due to a bad linker, and that they _should_ find a better
one, but that is really beyond the scope of support for wine, isn't it?
Eiother way, if we do that, and the developers do get a working one, great, if
not, it's their loss...

If by "fail while selecting the directory to install", you mean that clicking on
"next" after selecting directory to install to, nothing happens, try to erase
your $HOME/.wine directory.
During my experiments with S&T 2005 on Debian Sarge (which supplies Wine
20050310), I upgraded to Wine 0.9.7 (from sarge-backports) and got that problem.
Erasing that folder fixed "next button does nothing" problem - only to hit

I had the exact same problem "Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000
at address 0x49a201 (thread 0009)" today on Wine 0.9.10.
However, I do not believe it is related do the fixmes we see before that
message. Fixmes are not supposed to be that troublesome, or else they would be
called errors on the output, I suppose.
With me, the game silently dies as the audio is (I think) about to start (on
Wine it shows the messages you mentioned). So I tested it on a Windows system
(same machine) that had no audio drivers, and it seems that the exact same thing
happens there (dying silently as the audio is presumably about to start). I do
not see any error message on Windows, of cource, but the game behaves exactly as
on Wine. Later, after installing the audio drivers on Win, the game works as
expected.
I can only assume this problem is because of the audio output (ALSA, OSS,
dsound, dmusic etc) not being correctly set or working on Wine.
I have no fix for this so far, but I will keep on looking into it.

It is an application like GoogleEarth, but OPEN SOURCE. This might help a lot
further improve wine. I managed to install the Application, but the best I got
when starting it was a "Fatal stack overflow" and an "Unhandled Page fault from
the .NET environment" Maybe the main problem is that the .NET runtime
environment has to be installed.

Summary: Red Hat and Fedora Core binaries are out of date
Product: WineHQ.com
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
URL: http://www.winehq.org/site/download-rh
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: misc-web
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: rivanvx(a)fastmail.fm
If you take a look at RH/FC download page, you notice that binaries are out of
date. I know that it takes a lot of time and effort to maintain packages, and
maintanier sometimes doesn't have that much time, so I suggest the following:
For FC3/4/5 add a notice that "Current version of Wine is available in Fedora
Extras for Fedora Core versions 3, 4 and 5." and perhaps put a link to extras. (
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/extras/ )
Then FC3 and FC4 binaries can be easily removed from this page, because users
will be able to install it from Extras. That gives less work to package
maintainer, so he can perhaps update older binaries a bit more frequently.

In "Desktop Entry Specification", "Basic format of the file" section, values
appear without quotes: http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/.
I think it's a wine bug, since if you add quotes to the value, they are appended
to the path, and it isn't a valid path. If Gnome supports that, they do it for
compatibility. (and I don't know wine structure, I tried to guess the component
:). But thanks for the information)

Summary: Visual Basic 6 IDE app wizard has multiple errors, not
usable
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-ole
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dank(a)kegel.com
The app wizard has errors which keep it from completing.
To repeat:
1. install and run visual basic 6 IDE
2. click past "Key is not unique in collection" dialog box described in bug 4448
3. "New Project" dialog pops up. Pick "VB Application Wizard".
4. click "next" eight times to accept default app settings
Many fixmes and one err are displayed on console. The err is:
err:ole:typedescvt_to_variantvt cannot convert type 26 into variant VT
5. click "finish" to generate app
The two lines
fixme:ole:userdefined_to_variantvt TKIND 5 unhandled.
err:ole:typedescvt_to_variantvt cannot convert type 26 into variant VT
are diplayed on the console.
6. Click 'OK' on the "first time, may take a minute" dialog box.
The console shows:
fixme:ole:MSFT_ReadValue BSTR length = -1?
fixme:ole:DllDebugObjectRPCHook stub
fixme:ole:userdefined_to_variantvt TKIND 5 unhandled.
err:ole:typedescvt_to_variantvt cannot convert type 26 into variant VT
and the dialog box
"Variable uses an Automation type not supported in Visual Basic"
pops up (uh-oh).
7. Click 'OK' on the dialog.
The console shows
fixme:ole:userdefined_to_variantvt TKIND 5 unhandled.
err:ole:typedescvt_to_variantvt cannot convert type 26 into variant VT
and the dialog box
"20:Variable uses an automation type not supported in Visual Basic. Continue?"
pops up.
8. Click "Yes" on the dialog. The console shows
fixme:ole:ITypeLib2_fnGetDocumentation2 (0x7d2f2790) index -1 lcid 0 half
implemented stub!
fixme:typelib2:ICreateTypeLib2_fnSetHelpContext (0x7b9bca80,200000), stub!
and the dialog box "50:Out of memory. Continue?" pops up (uh-oh).
There's more, but it's not worth going into more detail;
the above problems are enough to make the wizard unusable.
If you keep clicking, eventually it gives up, and returns you
to the wizard-picking dialog.

Summary: Implement glut using wgl and not the native glut

Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-x11driver
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: tom(a)dbservice.com
The Nvidia SDK demos use glut to create the window but later on they use wgl
functions, such as wglGetCurrentDC(), which will return NULL because the DC
hasn't been created using wgl and thus wgl doesn't know anything about a current DC.
The only solution here is to use wgl to implement glut. And the easiest way
would be to take an existing win32 glut implementation. I wasn't able to figure
out under which license win32 glut has been released, and I've heard unless it's
LGPL it can't be copied over to the wine source tree. And I've also heard that
someone is working on a glx -> wgl transition.
What is the way to go? I don't think it will be fun to reinvent the wheel and
re-implement glut.
(this is filed under wine-x11driver because there is no wine-opengl component
listed)

AOL's In2TV service requires internet explorer or firefox under Windows XP.
When running Mozilla 1.5.0.1 under wine (set to Windows XP) the site asks you
to install the Firefox ActiveX Control Plugin. The plugin installation
completes properly and tells you to restart Firefox, however when you return to
the website the extension is not detected as installed and the following message
appears: "We're sorry, this feature requires the Mozilla ActiveX Plugin Click
here to install." At which point you are prompted to install the ActiveX
extension again from:
http://cdn.channel.aol.com/_media/dalaillama/mozactivex-ff-15-plus-drm-dl-v…
Natively under Windows XP the plugin is detected and the user is prompted to
install Windows Media Player.

Tom please don't forward bugs to wine-devel. Most everyone there reads bugzilla
as well. If they are not, they should be ashamed <g>
Anyway, there were number of cases when some broken linkers generated bad PE
headers. M$ decided to bypass as much tests as possible to make those program
work. (I think because some of those programs are made with msvc).
I don't see anything wrong with how Wine reads PE header (it's just a struct
really).
The patch in question was created to fix menssioned error with perposly bad exe
file. So I don't see no problems with reverting part of that patch that brakes
other apps that do work on windows. (The broken test app didn't work on windows).

I honestly don't think that that patch will get committed to wine.
The way wine is running with that line of code is that it returns an error if
the file it is trying to read is smaller than the header of that same file. The
fact that wine is picking up a header that is bigger than the size of the file
being read astonishes me, as it is not possible.
What that means is that we need to figure out where wine is really pulling the
number it is filling header_size with and fix that.. If that number is correct,
then we need a test case to show that that line of code really is the problem,
and not that it just exposes a problem somewhere else. It should be obvious by
my last statement, but if the test case causes the same error under windows,
then we know we are in conformance, and the problem lies somewhere else
(wherever wine is getting header_size from)..
I forwarded this bug to wine-devel, so hopefully someone with more experience
than myself can offer some input.

Hi Jussi, i know it runs perfectly well in opengl, but not in directx mode. i
think this is i nice test case for wine's d3d8 implementation. if you do just rm
~/.wine/drive_c/windows/opengl32.dll, it'll try to start in directx mode and fail.
So if you don't mind i reopen this one.

I also confirm this with Wine 0.9.10 and eMule 0.47a.
For me the problem doesn't occur when transferring only one or two large files
simultaneously during a single eMule session, but when transferring several
large files during a session (i.e. tons of file handles) the problem usually
occurs after a few hours.

Summary: world chess network - program wcnchess.exe crashes
because of OLE error 8000FFFF
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.10.
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: critical
Priority: P2
Component: wine-ole
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: chechi(a)shaw.ca
Hi,
I have wine 0.9.10 on a gentoo linux box and wanted to play chess on wcn
internet chess client (they don't tell the version on the site - latest I
guess). I even checked your database and it appeared in there as working.
The installation went smoothly and everything was good. But when I browsed to
.wine/drive_c/Program Files/WCN and executed "wine wcn.exe" I got 2 dialogs with
the following errors:
Dialog 1: OLE Error 8000FFFF
Dialog 2: Access Violation at address 0053DF7E in module 'wcnchess.exe'. Read of
addresss 0000032C
and the following output to the console:
err:region:CombineRgn Invalid rgn=(nil)
err:region:CombineRgn Invalid rgn=(nil)
err:region:CombineRgn Invalid rgn=(nil)
err:region:CombineRgn Invalid rgn=(nil)
err:region:CombineRgn Invalid rgn=(nil)
... at this point it was hanging and I had to CTRL-C
The bug is very reproductible and is the same on Mandriva Linux.
I hope I have been specific enough. I know there are other people complaining on
the wcn forums that they can't play on linux so if you fix this you will make a
lot of persons happy.
Thank you very much for giving your time,
Stephan Badragan

The thing is, you should test your program without relaying on some qwestionable
stuff.
ATM it seems that try icons are broken. So when you say that something doesn't
work that related to try icons - well we need to fix the first bug. Then see if
there is something else behind it.
Also, native dlls might only point the general direction where to dig. But they
don't provide too much help afterwards. You used lots of native dlls that if
anything hide the real place where the problem might be.
As far as RAS goes - I thing that's WONTFIX. It's way way way different on
native and *nix.

------- Additional Comments From wine.tester(a)gmail.com 2006-24-03 11:11 -------
If the native dlls couldn't have had an effect on the system tray icon then
MAYBE the icon in the system tray was never an issue and only appeared that way
because the notifier wasn't trying to connect to the mail account with the built
in dlls. And only when some native dlls were used it made an attempt to connect
and the icon changed. If this could be true then this ticket could be resolved
but then 4818 wouldn't be a duplicate and should be reopened.
Since Winsock is clearly not an option to play with is there a timeline as to
when Wine will support Windows Remote Access Services (RAS)?
Thanks for comments.

The program runs flawlessly with wine 0.9.7 and early 0.9.8. The bug was
introduced in 0.9.8 somewere.
And the problem is that ypops does NOT crash into the debugger, it exits
silently without any error message in newer wine's, from 0.9.8 and on.
I'll make the test you suggested as soon as possible.

Summary: Race condition in keyboard code
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-x11driver
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: peter(a)cendio.se
In some cases the key combination AltGr+2 produces "2" (wrong) rather than "@"
(correct), when using a Swedish layout. The problem is a race condition: If a
KeyEvent occurs almost directly after the "2" key is pressed, the AltGr state is
incorrect. This is because X11DRV_KeyEvent and X11DRV_ToUnicodeEx uses the
common, global, static variable: AltGrMask.
I've reported this to the mailing list, see

George, just to make sure I understand the problem, ypops used to crash into
winedbg, but now when you run it, it just returns you to the command prompt?
If that is the case, can you try using the latest wine version, but reverting
the patch that supposedly causes the problem?
You can do that by downloading the patch's .diff, and running the patch command
with -R.
Once that is done, compile wine as you normally do, and let us know if ypops
runs then..
I'm asking you to do this because I don't think that the patch they are having
you test out is the culprit.
If patch can't properly revert the patch, then try doing the same thing as
before, but on a cvs pull from somewhere shortly after it stops working (march
1st would be a good date)
Tom

I copied and pasted because in the testing I did the same group of dll's did
restore the funtionality of this ticket and 4816, as far as I can tell (will
know more when I can connect to an inbox). The question I have is 4816 is a
changing system tray icon (no email, new email, error) and this ticket is for a
floating message box that displays inbox information (unread emails, etc.). I
don't know anything about system tray icons or floating message boxes but is
their functionality similar? If so, then I'd agree that this is a duplicate. In
my nieve thinking, one is an icon and one is a message box so they are
different, even though the same set of dlls fixed both.

System tray has nothing to do with native dlls. You just can not fix it using those.
There are number of Wine "core" dlls that you just can not replace with natives.
Winsock being one of those.

Do you mean that Wine does not support the "\\.\" thing, or nslock.dll?
I have nslock.dll as it comes with the program package. I also tried it with
Win98 and NT40 as you suggested, but no help.
It looks that the "\\.\" thing is a really major issue at the moment to many
people as two other major financial analysis software in China, which currently
do not work under Wine, also seem to report about "\\.\". Does Wine not plan to
support it at all, or just in the near term?

I have some additional information regarding this bug. I've been playing around
with various combinations of native and builtin dlls and have a scenario that
gives me the error can not connect to the mailbox icon in my system tray and I
get a hoverover that appears saying there was an error connecting to the mail
box. In the output file when I debug warn+all I get a line that says "RAS
support is not implemented! Configure program to use LAN connection/winsock
instead!" but I've tried adding the winsock dll and using native/builtin and
still get the same error so I was hoping someone could offer some suggestions
because I feel like this has made some progress with getting gmail notifier to
work with wine.
The configuration is WinXP and
msasn1.dll (navite)
netapi32.dll (native,builtin)
riched20.dll (native, builtin) (not necessary, text is smaller with native)
rpcrt4.dll (native,builtin)
schannel.dll (native,builtin)
setupapi.dll (native,builtin)
shlwapi.dll (native,builtin)
userenv (native,builtin)
wininet (native)
With this configuration I get response from the gmail notifier icon when I click
tell me again and what appears to be an attempt to connect to the mail box where
before I got no response.

I guess this may be that configure uses `artsc-config --libs` to determine
libraries to be linked for arts. The output for that on FreeBSD is
-L/usr/local/lib -lartsc -D_THREAD_SAFE -pthread -L/usr/local/lib -lgmodule-2.0
-lgthread-2.0 -lglib-2.0 -liconv
but when compiling using winegcc it does not understand -pthread and does not
link the thread library.
However, when I tried to change -pthread to -lpthread, the error becomes
Fatal error 'Uninitialized mutex in pthread_mutex_trylock_basic' at line 496 in
file /usr/src/lib/libpthread/thread/thr_mutex.c (errno = 86)
which does not really help.

If I start the same or two different 16 bit programs the second one is started

I have not been able to determine what make the force=1 vs force=0 between the

I tried installing Garmin Mapsource version 4.02 today
with wine from last night's CVS. I simply put in the
first of two CD-ROM discs and ran setup.exe.
This ran fine until it prompted for "disc 1",
at which point I just killed the installer
(later I'll try the symlink-swapping tricks others
have described). Running the installed MapSource.exe
caused many messages of the sort
fixme:msvcrt:__crtLCMapStringA (lcid bc687811, flags 200, n(1), 0x7fb1fd00(3),
9e6a6858, 1), partial stub!
to be displayed, and seemed to hang at the splash screen
until I pressed control-C in the terminal. After a moment,
the splash screen went away and the main interface came up.
However, a fatal error dialog also came up, saying
"There is a problem with this GARMIN application.
...
At: 3/23/2006 4:10:50 PM (UTC)
OS: Windows 2000 Service Pack 4
Processor: Pentium Pro or Pentium II, RAM: 515984 KB

and the console showed
fixme:msvcrt:MSVCRT_setlocale :Codepage only locale not implemented
Clicking ok on the dialog terminated the program, so no joy.
Still, that seems like progress compared to the other reports.

This is not supported on Wine.

Summary: WinSCP 3.76 doesn't work (rates 'garbage') in 20050725

WinSCP 3.76 doesn't work at all and I rated it 'Garbage' in the appdb. The appdb
says that 'Garbage' needs a mention in Bugzilla ...
This is version 3.76, the current stable version. I tested the bare executable,
not the installer or zipfile versions.
Wine version: Ubuntu package 0.0.20050725-0ubuntu1.1 under an up-to-date
Kubuntu 5.10 (Breezy).
Very, very slow to start - ten minutes to bring up initial login window, another
ten minutes to fail. (Compaq N410c laptop, 1.2 GHz PIII-M, 768MB memory; other
Windows binaries are nothing like this slow.)
It's really too slow to be usable under Wine even if it did work.
What works: logging in.
What doesn't work:
* Tabbing between fields in the login screen does not work.
* SFTP - it may work, but I killed the process 15 minutes after logging in
when no window had come up.
* SFTP with SCP fallback - same as SFTP.
* SCP - segmentation fault.
I ran it using "wine winscp376.exe" from the command line. Command line
warnings:
sizeof(RADEONDRIRec) == 100, devPrivSize 100

When I got sick of waiting and hit Ctrl-C, it gave:

[I've guessed the 'component' as wine-misc because Bugzilla wouldn't let me file
this bug without it.]

Guys, you are quick! Thank you for that, especially Mike. I am not used to
people attending bugs that quickly!
Looking at the discussion, the problem mentioned resulted from using an tailored
boinc client downloadable from:
http://www.bm-makler.de/setiathome/boinc/pc/Boinc_5.2.13_P4_Athlon64_SSE2.z…
The tailored version utilises the *80.dll's. I got Boinc installed. Then one has
to replace the files of the standard boinc with those of the tailored version.
The tailored version however incorporates the *80.dll's. Upon executing
boinc.exe the error message pops up.
Since you already closed this bug and spent time and effort, I won't dare
opening it once again.
Thanks already for your work on this.
Cheers

Ok, added the appdb entry. I've also noticed another one of my programs (that I
run through Wine) that does this, Icon Extractor. A program that I used to use
to get icons out of Windows exe files that Wine hadn't made a shortcut to, but
now that does exactly the same. 100% CPU usage, no output and no program.

I believe there are a variety of problems that come up when running this
program. its not just one but many. The program doesn't work other then to load
the main window. It might open a dialog or two but in general the program is
unstable. It will give you different results if you open different projects.
But the errors are reproduceable. They happen every time.
