got error "Division by zero". On windows all works fine. Is there any chance

And my apologies for any language errors, I'll "do my best", though.
- I -
Since version 1.5.12 (Linux Mint 13, current version 1.5.16), LTspice seems to
suffer from a slow "click-and-drag" panning after zooming, which seems to be
related to font smoothing. Not being a guru, I reverted to the last version
(1.5.12) which, even if the text isn't anti-aliased after zooming it over a
certain amount (I use these customized settings: http://www.sharpfonts.co.cc/ ,
sharp fonts), it allows for smooth panning.
I can't screenshot the sluggishness, but it can be easily verified by lacing a
fair amount of devices, creating a schematic which, after pressing space (zoom
to fit), will make the fonts barely readable. Then use the mouse-wheel to
scroll and the pan.

Another problem is since I can't remember when, but it's not something that
really gets in the way, it can be overcome, but now that I'm here I may as well
mention them:
1. Placing a component on the schematic and Ctrl-right-clicking on it;
2. Adding a SPICE directive ('S' key) or a text ('T' key)
3. Ctrl-right-clicking on a component's name
All will make use of some dialog windows which allow text entries: 1 has
table-like entries, 2 has a multi-line entry and 3 uses a one-line entry. The
problem arises when launching LTspice with the simple "wine LTspice.exe"
command (terminal, launcher, etc), which makes use of LTspice's built-in
detection of a WINE environment.
1. In the dialog window that opens, a line that takes more than the default
window (entry) width will be cropped. Nothing unusual, but the line of text
normally follows the last typed characters, to be able to see what you're
currently doing; instead, the line of characters seems anchored to the first
one leaving you typing blindly ahead. (screenshot1.png)
2. Typing a full line and beyond will make things just like above. You can
Ctrl-enter for a new line, but it's the same, all the way down. However, here
you will get to see the "current typing" line. (screenshot2.png)
There's a nastier glitch if you have a mile long line among the others, because
when right-clicking on it to edit it, the I-beam cursor will not move it's
position, furthermore delete or backspace are invisible; this can be avoided by
breaking it into multiple lines with ctrl-enter and adding "+ " at the
beginning of the new line, for SPICE directives. (screenshot3.png,
screeshot4.png)
3. This only has problems with resizing (see below).
Trying to resize the dialog windows will let you do so, but the internal area
won't (I can only imagine what alien description will this seem to you)
(screenshot5.png, screenshot6.png). Therefore for #1 you won't know what
happens if (e.g.) you have a rather long formula to be implemented, for #2, if
there are lots of parameters to be defined, you're left scrolling like crazy,
not being able to see more than 4 lines and cropped, too, while for #3, well, I
suppose that won't matter as much if #1 gets done, because #1 displays all
possible lines (where there's the case).
Now, using "wine LTspice.exe -nowine" (LTspice specific switch) will get around
these problems -- and it's the current way of launching for me -- in that it
will allow proper resizing of dialog windows, but not the cropping of the
longer test line, however...
- III -
...the price to pay will be that using F8 to move a component will leave
crumble-like traces behind (F5, copy, F7, cut, the same) (screenshot7.png).
Minor glitch, though.
PS: I'll add the screenshots after this, it seems to only allow one
attachement.

Tested with DXVK 0.81 and wine-devel/staging 3.17.
git staging from yesterday(maybe earlier) seems incapable of launching steam,
so stable versions.
Game hard crashes on wine-devel when trying to start a round of the game but
that's irrelevant for this report(as it works on staging).
The game didn't even go through the version check at bootup until the developer
changed a variable with float into an int.
Current problems are some kind of message check happening over and over in the
main menu, leaderboards only showing score and not any other information, and
ingame leaderboards fluctuating between completely random score.
Game also crashes when trying to view some leaderboards tab, although am not
sure if that relates to the network issue, if it even is a network issue
The only relevant log WINE ever throws is
003a:fixme:wininet:InternetCheckConnectionW (L"https://aws.amazon.com/" 1 0)
Which I don't think is behind the issue.

Terminal log
After program start ('WINEARCH=win32 wine Edge.exe'), when File->Open (or
File->New) is used, the program freezes (i.e. no response to mouse or keyboard

Console output with Wine 1.6.2 (no bug)
The GOG version of Might and Magic VI hangs with Wine 1.9.18 before the story
intro video for the game begins (after the second "ad video"). This makes it
impossible to reach the main menu and actually start playing.
Interestingly, the issue does not occur with Wine 1.6.2.
I am attaching the console output for a run with both Wine 1.6.2 and Wine
1.9.18.

One possible fix of the problem.
Because of wrong implementation, only the top level windows receive
WM_DROPFILES.
The children windows even with set WS_EX_ACCEPTFILES, never accept WM_DROPFILES
and are not a drop target at all.
This bug affects only X11 driver. The Mac OS X driver is implemented properly.
The bug is located in the file "dlls/winex11.drv/xdnd.c".
I will attach one possible fix of this bug in the file "xdnd.diff".
It works for me, but need some revision, because my C programming skills and
knowledge about WINE code tree are very low. This way, the suggested fix can be
far from optimal. Especially the function WindowFromPointDnD can duplicate some
functionality implemented elsewhere.

Using Wine 1.1.21 on Solaris Express Community Edition b114, with winetricks
(vista, gdiplus, msxml3, vcrun6), the application installs (with some minor GUI
glitches) but crashes once you enter your credentials and attempt to log in.
I would attach a trace, except that trying to trace to a file still spews
useful output to the terminal for some reason here. Without being able to
properly place that information in context in the log, both the trace and the
terminal output are somewhat useless.

Wine seems to have several issues with some types of text field. They are
probably related so I'll describe them all here.
One program which shows these problems can be downloaded from
http://cd.textfiles.com/infomagic/imagic4pak5/disk3/Miscellaneous-Utilities…
Run ebot_einstall.exe then click Next to show the license agreement. The
agreement is in a text field/box with a scrollbar to the right.
First issue:
The view is initially positioned at the bottom; it should be at the top. (The
flashing cursor/caret at the end of the text is also present on Windows. It
seems Wine sets the initial view position so the caret is shown, whereas
Windows does not?)
Second issue:
Move the mouse pointer outside the window and click to de-activate it. Move the
pointer back over the ebot_einstall window (not over the text box) and click to
activate it. Notice how all the text is now highlighted; it shouldn't be.
Third issue:
Run ebot_einstall.exe and click Next. (At this point, the contents of the text
field are not highlighted.) Click and drag the scrollbar knob upwards. Notice
how the text field immediately moves to show the top of the document, and the
view position remains there as you move the knob up and down. If you release
the mouse button when the knob is half-way down the scrollbar, it jumps back to
the top.
Fourth issue:
After doing the test in the third issue above, move the mouse pointer so it's
about 3/4 of the way down the scrollbar. Click the mouse button repeatedly.
Notice that the text in the box pages down each time, but when the scrollbar
knob is under the mouse pointer, clicking again causes it to jump back to the
top. (On Windows the knob does not move in that case.) Thus clicking over and
over causes the view to cycle down a page then back to the top again and again.
Fifth issue:
On Windows, when you page the view up or down by clicking in the scrollbar
above or below the knob, the view moves by one line less than a page. For
example when paging down, the view moves so the previously-lowest visible line
becomes the uppermost visible line. On Wine, the view moves by a whole page
each time.
Sixth issue:
On Windows, pressing the Page Up or Page Down key causes the view to move by a
page (less one line as mentioned above). In Wine however, pressing those keys
causes the caret to move. Press PgUp/PgDown until you're roughly in the middle
of the document. Then press PgUp/PgDown alternately. Notice the view only moves
up and down by one line because of that.

Terminal output of the game executable
Launching the game in Steam does not work at all, no window opens and no error
messages come up. I logged the console output and received the message "wine:
Unhandled privileged instruction at address..." and then a long line of errors
and finally a stack overflow before the process terminates.

When CreateProcess starts a Linux program, it sets hProcess to 0 - causing
WaitForSingleObject to fail.
To test this:
Get CreateProcess example from MSDN:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms682512(VS.85).aspx
Add a few lines to print out the value of pi.hProcess and the return value of
WaitForSingleObject.
(I'll attach the code).
Run it with an argument "C:/windows/system32/notepad": hProcess is non-zero,
and WaitForSingleObject succeeds.
Then run it with an argument "/usr/bin/ls": "ls" still runs, but hProcess is 0
and WaitForSingleObject returns -1.

After game was finally successfully installed using Wineskin, there was an
issue with the game pointer cursor over the game cursor and was able to change
that by reading a page of someone's success using the game developer page and
is found after loading a game once saved and started and using the keyboard
keys:
"Control","Shift","Tab", and the letter "C" as in Cat.
That was one of the problems I had, among a few others, but the one left that I
am currently working on resolving is that there is a bug that closes the game
after Nancy Drew's letter closure and right before the game award announcement.
It was said on the page that there was a problem with the "game.exe" that was
critical and had to close the game immediately, but also instructed me to check
on the application manual or something to do with the application. I think it
meant this page for more information on Wineskin to find a solution to the
problem and also a link to report the bug, which I am doing now.
I couldn't find this bug listed among other common problems that others have
when trying to install the older Nancy Drew games with Wineskin such as
immediately screen flash-outs and directing the driver and file location
appropriately after copying the correct files. Different games require
different installed engines when creating their set wrappers. "Creatures of
Kapu Cave" and the one I love and am working with "Danger By Design" require:
"WS8Wine1.3.18", while nearly all others require, "WS8Wine1.3.34".
I hope this information helps to identify and further investigate this bug
issue and provide others with insightful information henceforth. Meanwhile, I
will continue to delve into the "Game.exe"s and hopefully trace the hangup.

When creating a new document and trying to save (by pressing F9), the operation
hangs. Not showing print preview screen and nothing happens.
The other parts of the program are still functional and can be stopped without
saving.
Otherwise, when editing an old document (imported from Windows) save, print
preview and print, operate normally.

After getting through https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41652 i've
finally managed getting Anno 2070 running on wine-staging 1.9.22.
However: If my system is online, the game crashes seconds after the main menu
is visible. if i disable internet access it works without problems. (i've
played through the main campaign for at least 2 hours straight)
i've been busy setting up several clean wine-environments on different hardware
to pinpoint this issue.
unfortunately there is no error message or log from the game itself and no
specific errors in the wine-console.
if anyone could tell me which WINEDEBUG-setting i should apply, i will attach
the results right here.

two processes stay up: BFBC2Game.exe and PnkBstrB.exe

Family Tree Maker 6, 8, and 2006 all seem to require
winetricks fakeie6
to install and run, but seem to function. But
every time you click a command on the toolbar, it puts up
a dialog complaining
"Cannot obtain version information for OLE2NLS.DLL. You may need to put the
file OLE2NLS.DLL in the SYSTEM directory within your Windows directory."
and the log entry
warn:ver:VERSION_GetFileVersionInfo_16 Could not find VS_VERSION_INFO in
"c:\\windows\\system32\\OLE2NLS.DLL"
This is harmless, but gets to be real annoying.
Adding a fakedll entry in wine.inf didn't seem to help
(I don't think that works for 16 bit things anyway).

Console Output when trying to lauch the Z-Installer
I am trying to get an old game called "Z" (by the Bitmap Brothers) to run. The
PC I am using is a Celeron 766 Mhz with Intel Graphics and Linux Fedora 14.
Kernel is a 2.6.35.6-45.fc14.i686.
When I launch the SETUP.EXE from the command line I get an unrecoverable error.
I understand that the game is very old so I chose "Windows 95" as a
configuration. I have attached my console output below.

This is not systematic. Only Windows 10 1809 is impacted so far, but this
affects both 32 and 64 bit tests and essentially all locales.
This test as some WaitForSingleObject() calls with 1s timeouts. So I used the
attached patch to check whether timeouts actually occur. Some do but after the
first of the above test failures.

Backtrace
The S4 installation program runs properly.
When starting S4 without CD then, the settlers splash screen appears and the
program asks for the CD.
Then I insert the CD (which does not seem to be defective).
Then S4.EXE immediately and reproducible crashes with "page fault on read
access".
If I insert the CD before starting the program it crashes without a splash
screen.
Same CD at same computer at real Windows runs properly instead.

Hello,
Legacy Origin client is unsupported since Jan 14 2020 [1], the download is
still available, though.
Installing in a fresh wineprefix in Win XP/Vista mode works, but ends with a
dialog that states that at least Windows 7 is required to run the program, and
the only thing that can be done is to close the window. This is expected.
Restarting from scratch in a fresh wineprefix in Win 7+ mode results in a
crash.
Backtrace shows the crash in function GetSecurityDescriptorDacl().
Using wine-staging makes no difference, so it's not bug 44691.

8. Dialog opens for a crash in UpdateTool.exe, close it.
9. Installer complains of an error and prompts to download full installer.
After that, launching the installed client manually give same result as steps
7-9.
Expected result (With workarounds for bug 32342 & bug 44691):
8. Should install the updated client.
9. The latest client login window should open, and then are done with the
obsolete legacy client.

Origin Backtrace
Origin games download fine, but after downloading an error message appears
saying that Origin cannot download files. When you restart the client (make
sure it is completely closed), Origin downloads the files again and shows you
on the screen that it checks the validity of the files and then successfully
installs them.
Only tested in 64-bit wineprefix.

Whenever i am done the installer, it loads up origin, but then it just
endlessly loads, sitting there for hours on end. It creates no event logs, and
I have no idea what is going on. -wine version 2.8 staggering, x86-64 bit.
linux mint 18.1 serena. latest nvidia drivers by nvidia, and a intel core i5
6400 with 12 gbs of ram.
latest linux kernal, and everything is updated.

The opening cinematics play for about ten (10) seconds, then it's skipped.
The actual video does not show up at all, but the audio is played, up until
that point.
Reverting '29deae351b4a4460fe8d7a04af88325dac420a0c' fixes this.
Before Wine 1.9.10, the movie plays, but upside down, and mirrored from the
left to the right. At 1.9.10, it works OK. After that, the above mentioned
commit comes along, and breaks it.
There was an error message in terminal that I saw at some point that might be
helpful, but I can't seem to make it happen now (and I'm a bit confused about
the logs I saved right now).
Let me know if any logs will be of help.

Upon launching Origin a crashdialog appears saying that OriginClientService.exe
crashed. Origin continues to launch but is unable to install any games
afterwards.
According to that post stopping the service manually solved the issue on
Windows as Origin restarts the service automatically when it is about to
download some game.

I tried doing the same by disabling the service's autostart through regedit.
The result was Origin launching with no issue but when trying to install a game
the same crashdialog appears.
The only interesting thing I found in the log was this line:
004e:err:module:import_dll Library Qt5Svg.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program
Files (x86)\\Origin\\imageformats\\qsvg.dll") not found
Qt5Svg.dll actually does not exist, not sure if it should be there with a clean
installtation or not. I tried both OriginSetup and OriginThingSetup, no
difference.

wininet verb (which is bad because it causes a very long hang when loading),

I bisected the change in glibc to a change related to the futimens function:

Is is possible that the 32bits build of wine erroneously call futimens64 ?
If I rollback glibc to 2.30 or patch wine to not use futimens, the problem
disappears:

Steps to reproduce:
1) Start Word 2007
2) Insert->Equation
Try to insert "less than" symbol by clicking on its center. Symbol will get
bigger as you hover over it but when you click on it, it won't be inserted in
the page.
To insert symbol you have to click on it's border like I showed in attachment
(lower image).
On upper image in attachment I also showed situation where symbol should be
inserted but it isn't.

I can't start the game from the Official Launcher. The launcher starts with
Wine-staging but I get the error (The Directory is Invalid) when I try to start
the game client.
The game worked flawlessly before they changed the launcher.
I think the problem is the second launcher called "Soulworkerlauncher.exe".

commit 22795243b2d21e1a667215f54c3a15634735749c causing gcin is not working in
wine 4.17. I was unable to input Chinese after this commit.
My solution now is to revert this commit.
This can be test on gcin by notepad. I think ibus also could re-produce.

Even after installing native .NET 4.5.2 (if I recall correctly), Chummer5a does
not work as of Wine 5.2. In Wine 5.1 it still does work (checked by first
compiling Wine 5.1 — Chummer5a works, checked out 5.2 and compiled — Chummer5a
no longer works. Same Wineprefix).
The issue that occurs is that after opening Chummer5a with a recent Wine
version (5.2 or later) Chummer appears to open, then goes black and a Wine
Debugger window appears which promptly disappears (before I'm able to catch
what it says) and both windows close.

The version of Chummer I used to reproduce this was 5.209, binary release from

dlls/wineps.drv/init.c:

Hi,
I'm trying to run Kleos under wine. Kleos is an application to manage the work
flow in a law firm: https://kleos.wolterskluwer.com.
This application is cloud based and it needs a client on the user pc.
The software dependecies, as advertised by the developer, are:
Windows 7 Service Pack 1
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 (x86 and x64)
Messaging API and Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1
Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2013 (x86 and x64).
I use a 64 bit linux distribution (manjaro with 5.5 kernel) and wine 5.3.
I created a new 64 bit prefix, setted the windows version to 8.1 and after some
experiments and a huge help from the wine forum, I used 2 winetricks:
d3dcompiler_47 and dotnet472.
With this enviroment I was able to install the application. During the
installation process it prompted to install Messaging API and Collaboration
Data Objects and I said yes.
When I launche the installed app it showed the splash screen , but it crashed
after a while.
The log is attached.

Wine error log
Hi,
I'm trying to run The Elder scrolls V : Skyrim game in my Ubuntu 19.10 using
wine 5.0 stable version.
The installation was fine with no errors and when I try to run TESV.exe, the
game loads up and i'm able to select for a new game and then the title rolls
and after some 10 sec, the game instructs me to use mouse to look around. I do
that and after 5 sec, the game crashes with no error messages.
Tried both SkyrimLauncher.exe and TESV.exe. The results are same.
I tried switching to very low res and graphics but still the same.
I was able to grab the error log(attached). Tried searching the google but
unable to find a solution.

See bug #21609. A purported fix for this bug was committed to the source tree
as commit 258d42982cf526b3d9c59ccb522b27db3f519541, and included in release
1.2-rc4.
However, I am experiencing the same issue (no sound effects with the exception
of dialogue) as named in that bug report with a clean build of 1.2-rc4. Not
surprisingly, regression testing leads back to the same bad commit:

This bug report deals with a difference in behavior of ws2_32:getpeername. It
was discovered in the game Titan Quest Anniversary Edition when connection to a
multiplayer lobby, but can be reproduced quite easily elsewhere.
Once a non-blocking socket is connected to using ws2_32:WS_connect, and
ws2_32:getpeername is called before the TCP handshake is completed, the
resulting behavior is different on Windows and Linux.
On Linux; before the TCP handshake is completed WSAENOTCONN is returned by
ws2_32:getpeername. I.e. a socket is not connected before the handshake
succeeds, hence one cannot get the peer name
On Windows; from msdn the documentation clearly states that "The getpeername
function can be used only on a connected socket.". Apparently, once the
ws2_32:connect call has been made, it's defined as "connected" until the
handshake times out because Windows returns successfully without an error and
gives the peer info of the remote address it's trying to connect to. The error
can be reproduced by using connect to an IP/port that does not reply followed
by the call to getpeername
Now, what happens in Titan Quest is that the developers has handled the
WSAENOTCONN error by recreating the socket and doing the exact thing again
instead of waiting for the socket to connect. Obviously, that's an error on
their part, but it does work consistently on Windows.
During the handshake, the tcpi_state field of TCP_INFO will show as
TCP_SYN_SENT/TCP_SYN_RECV, which can be used to detect when this happens. I
don't know the best way to get the peer name without calling getpeername
though. I suppose it can be retrieved by re-implementing af_inet:inetgetname()
without the check for TCP_SYN_SENT, but this probably affects portability (?).
Another more portable way is to cache the address/port in wine, which obviously
only works for outgoing connections (don't see why the behavior has to change
for incoming connections anyway).

getpeername() that fails and raises an exception.

Console backtrace
Hi,
Trying to launch a wow BfA application with a bat file, I got an error (see the
console log as attachment).
I guess the important is the UnknowError block.
The .bat only contains : "Arctium.data" --custom Wow.exe
Arctium.data seems to be compiled and Wow is the standard wow application.
I tried to get some Arctium source but it is hard, I hope there is enough data
without it.

With WINE under UBUNTU 8.04 horizontal scrolling does not work in the right
hand (text editing) window of FineReader 7.0 Pro. Vertical scrolling works fine
as does horizontal scrolling in all other windows. The only workaround is to
Zoom out and/or enlarge the size of the "problem" window so all text is
visible.

Since updating to Wine 5.3, I keep getting a segmentation fault when starting
any kind of program. The issue is reproducible with a new wine prefix as well
(so my prefix is not the culprit).

If using the advanced search in Foxit Reader 3.0 build 1506 the sidebar window
which appears when using the "advanced search" mode isn't accessible.
It is possible to do a search within the document, but you cannot click the
displayed results and therefore you cannot jump to the location the word was
found. Also it is not possible for longer search results to scroll in
horizontal direction despite there is a scrollbar.
The only fields that are working are the search entry field, the search button
and the close button (cross in the upper right corner). The fact that you
cannot access the search results makes this part of the program totally
unusable.

I tried preview version of Divinity Original Sin II and it crash on startup
almost immediately if sound is enabled in wineprefix. I tried pulse and alsa
without any luck.
I observed nothing obvious in logs (attached)
The game itself creates dump, I attached it as well, it's rather small for a
crash dump

There is a dll call for something called ogremain.dll. Ogre is a program that
is use to make games, and I can only assume this game was made with it, so
maybe this has something to do with the compatibility of wine with Ogre engine.

Game gets around 30 fps on menu. Drops to under 10 fps in game. Since the game
is hardcoded to 60 fps, this makes the game effectively unplayable
Some information from test reports:
>Low fps - by default it is unplayable due to several context switches to wineserver per GetLocaleInfoW call.
>Running pinned to a single core (taskset -c 0 wine Steam.exe) gets it to playable but a bit slow.
>http://pastebin.com/uwxftAmk is a possibly thread-unsafe hack to cache some bits that gets it to full fps.
I haven't had the time to get any more meaningful tracebacks yet, and I'm not
sure which debug channels would be most helpful.

broken glyph
PSPad 4.5.3 have brokeng glyph (squares instead of stars or dots) in password
box (left panel → ftp → connect to ftp → new connection → password).
This changed after this commit:

before this, the input box was even more broken, but the glyph was better -
there was '×' (multiply) sign. On Windows XP, there are big dots in that box
(but stars would be also OK).

I installed MS Office 2016. Word and Excel works well, but I have some problems
with PowerPoint
In PowerPoint there are some basic style of slide for any theme you chose,
-Title and box
-Titles and two columns
-A big box...
Some of this style fails in Powerpoint. You got a blank slide if you tried to
add it. Others works perfectly.
However, PowerPoint is able to open a slide with this compositions.

least Wine 2.0. However sound has never worked at all for me.
I'm using Nvidia proprietary drivers (GTX 960) on Arch Linux, with libpulse.

I query all names from all Windows Computers and resolve them to IPs later
(easy way for me to get all Computers in the lacal network)
I use WNetOpenEnum for it with this parameters :
WNetOpenEnum(RESOURCE_GLOBALNET, RESOURCETYPE_DISK, RESOURCEUSAGE_CONTAINER,
... , ...); (the last parameters are just variables for the output)
This return 1222 ("No Network"). This happens with and without running root.
On Windows, i get all Samba Share names with this. Is it a bug or not
completely implemented yet?

When I startup Kingdom Come Deliverance the game starts up just fine, but has a
black screen, sound works.
There seems an error with
err:d3dcompiler:compile_shader HLSL shader parsing failed.
When I use d3dcompiler_46.dll and d3dcompiler_47.dll (which are bundled with
the game) as native with override in wine the game starts up fine without black
screen.

Attempting to run 'Eldorito' in WINE
(https://github.com/ElDewrito/ElDorito.git) fails, seemingly due to the pointer
work which is pervasive through the code.
I have modified the code a little in the Git to try to track the failure. It
appears that the memory pointer work causes the failed initialization with the
first action being:

Steps to reproduce
1. Create a 32bit wineprefix
2. Install dll d3dcompiler_47, d3dx9, dotnet48 (via winetricks)
3. Install fonts Arial, Verdana (via winetricks)
4. Install Banking 4W from https://subsembly.com/buybanking4.html
5. Create an Account Save. Right click on the left (after opening the account
save) will crash the application.

Info from exception dialog box and wine log
Running the Construction Set Extender (CSE) for Oblivion
(https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/36370/?) and trying to use the script
editor (provided by AvalonEdit https://github.com/icsharpcode/AvalonEdit)
displays an error message but lets me continue. Continuing does allow the
editor to work, but no text is displayed and the window can't be resized.

Console output from trying to install the program with builtin dlls.
If I try to install Verizon Media Manager without having the native wsh56vb
installed from winetricks, I get stuck on the last screen before it starts
installing. That screen is right after the EULA, and has you put in a name for
share and where you would like to install it.

When a program calls GetThreadSelectorEntry after creating a process, it fails
in Wine (returns FALSE and sets lasterror to 5), but succeeds in Windows. This
is a problem for a program I made which needs this function to work, so I've
boiled it down to a tiny test case which still fails in the same way, and is
attached. When run on Windows, this exe brings up a messagebox saying "ALL OK",
but when run on Wine, it says "ERROR: GetThreadSelectorEntry failed". Here's

Demos to demonstarte the issue of CFileDialog with bVistaStyle == true not
displaying content on osx64
With
portable-winehq-devel-5.0-osx64.tar.gz
on Mac the MFC call CFileDialog with parameter bVistaStyle == true does not
display the directory content of an x64 app.
The parameter bVistaStyle == false works fine.
The same app as a Win32 app with portable-winehq-devel-5.0-osx.tar.gz works
fine.
It looks as if this issue is just on a Mac.
To demonstrate the issue please find demos in the attached zip file:

Log file running Divinity:Original Sin 2 with shadows enabled.
Enabling shadows fills the log with:
fixme:d3d:wined3d_debug_callback 0x2377a6a0: "Program undefined behavior
warning: Sampler object 24 has depth compare enabled but is bound to a
non-depth texture, and used by a program that samples it with a shadow sampler.
This is undefined behavior.".
Driver is Nvidia Proprietary, no idea what other drivers say with shadows
enabled. It goes away when shadows are disabled, and framerate returns to
normal.
Possibly related log messages that seem unrelated to shadows being
enabled/disabled:

The music on the start screen has minor crackling/popping sounds with
pulseaudio. This repros on both card 0 device 0 and card 1 device 3 listed
below.
I was able to workaround the issue by disabling timer-based scheduling via the
following setting in /etc/pulse/default.pa:

Normal game launch without any special debugging
"BEAUTIFUL DESOLATION" game uses mpeg4/AAC movies for intro and various in-game
cutscenes.
With Windows 10 version those movies won't play at all due to game trying to
fetch unimplemented *EngineEx inteface from mfplat (introduced in Windows 10),
but with Windows 7 OS version they will play without sound
Wine uses gstreamer and from GST_DEBUG="3,*audio:6" log I don't see anything
suspicious (though I am not familiar with gstreamer inner workings - at least
there are no errors in there). Yet the movie file itself plays just fine using
'gst-play' command, hence me believing that could be wine bug - audio data
seems to be decoded correctly, just not played correctly
I am attaching logs from normal launch, GST_DEBUG launch and gst-play GST_DEBUG
launch (for comparison). I don't know what wine module is at play here, mfplat
doesn't seem to be used when windows version is set to "WIndows 7".
I may also upload the intro-logo movie from the game (it's just developers
logo, I am sure they won't mind).
Steps to reproduce (if you have the game):
1. In clear wineprefix set windows version to win7
2. Install the game
3. Launch the game - intro (dev logo) video would play. It should have sound,
but it won't
Sadly, there is no demo version for the game or anything (I'll ask the authors
if they can provide a simple one just playing the intro)

The installer ran, but it pop up an error dialog during installation, but I can
click OK and the installation can be continued and finished.
When installation finished and the "launch application after installation" is
ticked, it tried to run the program but the same error dialog appeared and the
click OK makes it closes.
Running the program in the installed location (.../drive_c/Program
Files/UltraViewer/UltraViewer_Desktop.exe) have the same result (the same error
dialog appeared and it doesn't run).
The error dialog content is:

Ruler doesn't work properly.
if you try to drag a tab or an indentation, this is automatically restarted its
original position in some miliseconds. You have to be very fast to getting
move it.
It could be a regression because It was working from wine 4.17 to 5.0RC2.
5.0RC3 stop to work again.

Try to create a new project using project wizard (doesn't matter which type).
When you press "OK" to create the project the GUI wizard is shown again and

For testing purpose I changed the stub to return S_OK and it allows the
IDE/wizard to run further only to end up in next bug ;-)
So JScript_AddTypeLib() implementation is probably really needed.

The two expansions to the base game introduced a new rendering option 'Enhanced
ship rendering'. When this option is enabled strange polygons appear on the
ship models as can be seen in the attached screenshot.
The demo version of GalCiv II doesn't have this option.
The same problem with Wine 1.4.1/1.6.2/1.7.22
Tested with the open source Nouveau and the binary Nvidia drivers, both show
the problem.
Disabling GLSL or pixel shaders doesn't help.

About wine instead of a maximized window
Hi All,
In Lotus Approach, if you use the internal windows control (the low set of
caption buttons) to minimize a single database, it will appear as an icon in
the lower right of Approach's window. If you double click on the icon to
maximize the window again, you get "About Wine 1.1.20" (and no maximized
window)

Steps to reproduce:
- Using wine-staging, launch Danganronpa V3 from Steam.
Expected results:
- Intro cutscenes play; game gets to main menu.
Actual results:
- Black screen.
Additional notes:
See attached log.
Without using wine-staging, the game will just complain about "Failed to
initialize ID3D11Device" even with sufficiently advanced video hardware /
drivers.
Using a native mfplat.dll and mfreadwrite.dll can work around this issue,
though doing so also requires Windows Media Foundation registry entries to be
present or crashes will happen.

Althrough I've disabled shell folder links (My Pictures, My Music, My Videos,
My Documents) by unchecking "Link to" checkbox for each of them in
winecfg->Desktop Integration->Shell Folders, after each wine update those
settings are reset and all folders are again linked to my home directory. That
is highly undesirable, as I'd prefer windows apps never access anything outside
.wine/drive_c.

I installed the game on Lutris and found that If I use version 4.15 or more
(qith and without stagin) fail. I don't try with 4.14 because you can't
download it in Lutris, but using "lutris-4.13", game shows all cars and tracks.
I suppose that in the last versions of wine, are additions from Proton 4.11
that makes the game don't show all its content.

This is the only Windows 2003 machine we have so it's hard to tell if it's a VM
issue or a test issue. The VM is currently on the vm1 host which has two
hard-drives in a non-RAID configuration.
On cw-rx460 and cw-gtx560 (i7-2600K+HDD but real hardware) it takes 30s to 38s.
On w2008s64 which is on vm2 (slower processor but RAID 0 HDD) it takes ~50s.
On wxppro which is on vm3 (faster processor+SSD) it takes 77s.
On wvistau64 which is also on vm1 it takes ~108s.
Here is the virtual hardware configuration of w2003std (from the WineTest
report's description field):
CPU:2*kvm32 RAM:1GB disk:virtio eth:e1000 snd:ac97 GPU:vga display:spice
This test also systematically fails on the acer-aspire-one-xp machine. That may
provide a point of comparison.

When anti-aliasing is enabled in the game options treetops look like flat, 2D
objects. Changing the other game option <Real Tree> has no effect on the issue.
With disabled anti-aliasing trees look good.
I can reproduce the problem with nouveau and the binary drivers too.
Native d3dx9_36 was used to work around bug #22682
Disabling GLSL, orm=backbuffer doesn't make it better.

Problem.
After updating from 4.19 Staging to 4.20 Staging in Mac OSX 10.13.6,
I was making the first starting refresh work as I usually do,
but after typing "winecfg" it show nothing but the Term show it was going back
to waiting input state,
but when I try "CMD" to start the commander line and run the "winecfg"
the CMD was working but after running the "winecfg" I notice that the term said
nodrv createwindow, failed to start again.

Upon selecting the midi in & outputs the program shows the error "Receive
error: Not enough memory". It is not possible to receive the contents of the
synth module in the editor.

Keepass 2.4.x (.NET based app) used to work up to Wine 5.1, upon updating to
Wine 5.2 it crashes with a message regardig memory corruption and showing red
lines where the menu and toolbar used to be drawn. (Check attached screenshot)
This is how I deployed Keepass:

This is a counterpart to the many (mostly resolved?) bugs regarding switching
*out* of fullscreen applications. On some applications, I can switch out of the
window without any problem. If the application has changed the desktop
resolution, it is restored to the previous setting (e.g.,
1920x1080->3840x2160).
However, I cannot restore focus to the application once it loses focus. The
application will unminimize (from the taskbar or the window switcher), and the
mouse cursor changes to the appropriate graphics, but the application seems
never to be unblurred; it's not redrawn (I believe this is its own choice when
it thinks it doesn't have focus), and the "bookmarked" resolution isn't
applied. The application does not respond to input, and I have to kill Wine
from the CLI.
The applications I have available where I'm able to reproduce the behavior are
based on the Civ4 engine (Civ4 itself, Railroads!). The behavior is identical
regardless of whether the application changes the screen resolution (if it
hasn't, then it'll switch back to full screen and show the last render but is
still frozen). Fallout 2, with or without Restoration, does *not* reproduce the
behavior. It may be linked to D3D.
I'm running KWin 5.14.5 on Intel graphics.

Alien:Isolation terminal output
Alien: Isolation (Steam version) crashes on startup.
There is an attempt for the game to load as a process named AI.exe is created
and a window pops up on a black screen but with the mouse cursor changing to
the in-game one. So the game at least attempts to boot up.
Specifically for Arch Linux which I use, there is a "trick" to get this game
running.
If you install the package "wine-staging-nine" from the official repositories
here : https://www.archlinux.org/packages/multilib/x86_64/wine-staging-nine/
the game boots correctly.
It does not boot up with plain wine-staging or vanilla wine + gallium nine
patches. So it probably needs a mix of patches from both projects.
I'm attaching a terminal output below.

Screenshots
When I delete text under Scientific Workplace, the end of the line is not
treated correctly. Was is most evident is that the last character(s) is(are)
not canceled.
I attach a vertical concatenation of 3 screenshots:
the first is the state before hitting backspace: I typed "abcdefghijkl" and
added an inline image,
the second is after hitting backspace (I cancel the "g"); notice how the last
"kl" are not correctly canceled and the image is not moved to the left
and the third is how it should have looked.
No error message is displayed while hitting backspace (it complains about IME
all the time but I think it's no big deal).
I have seen this problem at least in versions 1.0.1 (under Debian testing,
Ubuntu hardy and intrepid, both 32 and 64 bits) and 1.0.13 (Debian testing 64
bits). The situation is even worse under Ubuntu intrepid (32 bits OS, Wine
v1.0.1) as text disappears as soon as it is typed (Esc redisplays it briefly).
I can live with the image (visible at the end of the line) not correctly
positioned after backspace (it seldom occurs), but the last character not
canceled is a real (visual) pain.
I can test anything you wish and I understand programming/debugging.

When looking at a full WineTest report on the TestBot website finding the
errors can require a lot of scrolling and there is a risk of skipping over
them.
The cache .errors files contain the line of each error and error group.
This makes it possible to add links to the errors:
* The first report line would contain a link pointing to the first report error
(for instance in the form of a down arrow at the start of the line).
* Errors would contain links to the previous/next errors, or to the first/last
report line.
* The last report line would link to the last report error.
Once the first draft is ready the link chain may be tweaked:
* The first line of test units containing errors, could be added to it.
* A second chain link to be set up with only the new failures.

Over time error handling in the WineRun* scripts has become complex and
inconsistent. It's in need of a serious cleanup, particular so that errors can
be reliably identified in the testbot.log file and shown on the JobDetails
page.
There are three places where the WineRun* scripts can send errors:
* To the global 'var/log' log file.
Sending errors to the global file makes sense for errors which could be
relevant to other operations on that VM such as the preceding or following
revert.
* To the per-task 'testbot.log' file.
This is where most errors should go for long term storage.
* To stderr which is redirected to 'testbot.log' nowadays.
Then there are a number of functions that report errors:
* LogMsg()
This adds a message to the global log (errors and others alike).
It is used to log the startup and exit of the WineRun* scripts in the global
log, but also to save some errors there.
* Error()
Prints the error on stderr if --log-only is not specified, and sends them to
the global log (via LogMsg()). In particular things like usage errors thus end
up in the global log which probably does not make sense.
* LogTaskError()
Explicitly opens testbot.log and appends to it. It should really print to
stderr instead. But some calls to LogTaskErrors
* FatalError()
The main point of FatalError() is that it invokes WrapUpAndExit() with
appropriate parameters.
But it also sends the error message to both the global log and testbot.log
(via LogTaskError()). That's probably not appropriate.
* FatalTAError()
This is a specialized form of FatalError() which also notifies the
administrator of network issues.
That's ok except that depending on the codepath it may end up calling any of
Error(), LogMsg(), LogTaskError() or FatalError().

The TestBot treats every email as a potential patch.
This makes sense as replies to a patch could be a new version for that patch
which means it should be tested.
But replies to parts of patches are different. Here is what happened due to the
failure to recognize this.
I'm not sure why but the TestBot must have received the following emails in
this order (this is not the order of the send times but it matches the order in
which I received the emails in my inbox):
* [PATCH 1/5] ntoskrnl.exe: Implement PsLookupThreadByThreadId.

Part 1/5 in a patch series. The TestBot created a PendingPatchSet object to
track the different parts.

The TestBot decided this looked like a patch because the HTML version
contains lines that start with "+++ ". Thus it treated this email as a new
version of the previous patch, like it usually does, and replaced patch 1 in
the PendingPatchSet.

The TestBot created a job to test this patch but used the updated part 1 of
the patch set which in fact was an HTML email. This resulted in an invalid
patch and thus a failure to apply.
The TestBot probably did two things wrong:
1. It took a patch from an HTML attachment.
The TestBot already rejects those but somehow the $Part->effective_type ne
"text/html" test in Patch::NewPatch() did not work.
2. It replaced part 1 of a patchset with a new version.
One cannot send a new version of a part in a patchset: the whole patchset
must be resubmitted (*). So the TestBot should never replace a part in a
patchset.
It looks like this check should be done in PendingPatchSets::NewSubmission()
near the $Set->Parts->GetItem($PartNo) call.
The issue here is that we may receive emails out of order. So we could
receive a reply to part 1, and thus add it as part 1, before we receive the
actual email for part 1.
(*) Otherwise we'd have to keep the patchsets around and create new jobs for
all parts that follow the replaced part. And if multiple parts are replaced...
madness!

The TestBot does not check the size of the reports and logs it downloads from
the VMs. These could be quite big and are even more likely to get big if
setting WINEDEBUG is allowed. So there should be a limit.
The TestAgent GetFile() API has no provision for putting a limit on the size of
the file being retrieved. But checking the size against a limit would come
quite naturally if the files are retrieved one chunk at a time (see bug 48030).
Note that the Wine rebuild logs are quite big (11MB).

The web interface allows the creation of VMs that have dashes in their name.
But when untainting its parameters LibvirtTool considers such names to be
invalid, so that trying to revert these VMm fails.
There is a VM::Validate() method that should validate the VM name among others,
but obviously it cannot be used to check and untaint script parameters.
So the VM name validation criterions need to be checked and a standard function
provided.

A patch example.
Hi all.
It looks like there is a typo in the file tools/winegcc/winegcc.c
The command
ggrep "[^_]_wine_spec_fini" -r *
in the source tree finds two places where __wine_spec_fini is with one
underscore in the begining.
I've attached a patch just to show the places with typo (I think it's a typo),
feel free to use it as you want.

Hello Support,
I'm an advanced user on linux and I'm trying to set up a dedicated server for
my game DayZ.
My game is available only on Steam, windows version and in 64-bit.
I used steamcmd for linux version to download the dedicated server windows
version.

So I installed wine, setted up in windows 10 (and used WINEARACH, WINEPREFIX)
and installed VC 2013 & 2015 in 64-bit edition.
My server is using a vanilla config, it means untouched.
My server comes online but when i try to connect, my client fails.
When I look logs from game server, I can't see any traces when I tried to
connect. (it's not normal, it's should)
I attached logs.

Simple log of fixme's in the console
Zmodeler is not quite in full working condition (but tons better than prior to
1.1.14). When using the buttons on the Main Toolbar the icons which
occasionally disappear and overall 3D performance is rather slow. You can
mouseover the icons and they will reappear, but it isn't overly practical...
Attached is a log. I believe it has something to do with"LockWindowUpdate".

Clrmamepro crashes when quit. Just open the program, and then trying to quit is

This can mangle some messages such as:

I can't drag and drop (move up or down to change the order) any audio file
inside my playlists as I could do in Windows. There are sometimes, when you try
to add files from file explorer that the program gets stuck. Besides, I can see
my desktop background through the borders of the UI. I have notice that the
behaviour of the playlists scroll it is a bit laggy.
I have tried several wine versions from 4.0.3 stable to 5.0 rc5. It doesn't
change.
It would be great if you could improve the support for this program because it
is awesome.
