Summary: Mosaic crashes when online.
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-kernel
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: telefrancisco(a)lycos.es
Hi.
I'm using Mosaic 3.0 (for win95). When i'm connect to the Internet it crashes
(as it uses a default web page). When isn't connected to internet, it simply
says that can't found the web page and runs as normally.

I just edited my DLLOVERRIDES to include that, but I'm still getting the popup
"Success" window. So, from deductive reasoning, it must not be the UXTHEME then
... that is, unless there's something else to try.
In my eyes as a user, having to change the .config file to make PS7 work would
seem like a step backwards in Wine development. Why? Well, in earlier versions
I didn't have to do this to make PS7 run; so, I don't see why I should need to
do this now (unless it was only a temporary fix.) ;)
Hopefully, this will get resolved in the next Wine release. :(
Hiji

If the problem is really uxtheme, then there is an easy fix. Try adding in your
~/.wine/config file, in the DllOverrides section:
[DllOverrides]
"uxtheme" = ""
That basically tells Wine not to use uxtheme.

Installed IE on a fresh wine drive from Frank's Corner Method 2 (except

IE loads a page now (resolves hosts, then the progress bar grows), but
when it's about to display it will freeze. This is the terminal:

Anything past wine20031212 will NOT run Photoshop 7; however, it WILL install.
January's release just hung when trying to run (see the errors from earlier
comments.) Meanwhile, February and March releases just provide a "success"
window. I fear this has to do with the UXTHEME and the apps that started
breaking after it was introduced into the code. (See the Wine Newsletter, issue
#206. 01/23/2004 )
Honestly, I would view this as a P1 priority. For many of us, we depend on
Photoshop 7 running under Wine (mainly, as a reason NOT to use Windows), and
will not use later versions of Wine until we can run Photoshop 7 in it. See the
APPDB for many of our comments on this.

I cannot tell whether this bug is a regression from previous version of wine
because I just used this version as the first installation on my linux. Telling
exactly I used the source package and compiled it under my FEDORA core 1.0a.
My description can be compared with bug 1769. I compiled wine on my linux too
and not any of my win32-applications could be started. Every time I try it the
error described occurs.

Trying to install ie6. At 65% it stalls, with this message repeating in terminal:
fixme:thunk:CommonUnimpStub generic stub: ?
Please fix :D
Note: Leaving the Severity to normal, though it might be minor. I think it would
be better if wine will focus on several critical applications (MS Office, MS
Access, I Explorer, Adobe Photoshop) and make sure they work in each release.

I have now made a regression test, and found
out that the problem is caused by a change
made to objects/dib.c of vers. 20031016.
I have sent a bugfix.

Summary: segfault in folder dialog box (or support for

Product: Wine
Version: 20040309
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-gui
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: sylvain.pasche(a)switzerland.org
I had some applications segfaulting when displaying the folder selection
dialog box. I looked around in the sources, and I found a previous patch
posted by woschwot_at_onlinehome.de which solves this problem:
http://www.winehq.com/hypermail/wine-patches/2004/03/0141.html
So I looked in the cvs with cvsweb, but it appears not to be commited yet. So I
open this bug to keep an eye on it

Well Jeremy Has opened up the code for the AppDB so that helps
So Here is my thoughts at the moment.
The Problem of Integrateing these two databases is this.
1. when I am in the AppDB I would like a quick way to see all the bugs for this
app.
2. When am in Bugzilla I would like to have a quick way to see it has to say
about in the AppDB.
There is a URL Field in the Bugsilla database that is primarily used to point
to a place where you can download the app when the bug has the Keyword
Download. If we used this field to point to the Appdb then we have a link to
the app for the bug.
In the Appdb we can have a link that has a query to look for the url for this
app in the URL field in Bugzilla.
I have tried this out in theory using "The Bat: as an Example. In each of the
bugs in bugzilla I have entered the URL for the bat
http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?appId=68 in the URL Field.
When I use this Query in the URL of this bug I get all the bugs for the bat.
The biggest problem with this solution is that the URL will need to be changed
for all the existing bugs which is no small task. The second problem is
maintaining new bugs as they come into Bugzilla.
The first problem can only be overcome with a lot of hard (Grunt) work. There
are just over 2100 bugs in bugzilla at this time, so if 21 people were to take
a hundred bugs each I think we could be done in a about a week.
The second problem can be overcome only if we can use the AppDB to be a
frontend for submissions to bugzilla. I see that there are is at least one
person (besides myself and Jerry) willing to put some work into the AppDB so I
have at least a hope of this flying.
