Yeah, this is some known b0rkage with the WM code, see here for a solution:
http://theoretic.com/mike/wine-faq.html
I'm going to close it because we all know about it, but the fix isn't really
that easy, definately on the TODO list though....

I think this is fixed in dx76->dx79 set of patches (in current cvs) - I used
the demo and saw the same problem, and my patch got it working. Note I had to
disable w-buffering though which for some reason had got turned on (we dont
advertize support for it!).

I'm not sure you're right, but the problem is moot. Before reading your

Summary: WINE Clipboard problem- polish characters encoding
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: test
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.com
ReportedBy: olorin5(a)gazeta.pl
Whenever I try to copy/paste a piece of text between apps running under Wine and normal unix apps, the polish characters got messed up - and are replaced by various other signs. Probably some kind of encoding problem (Windows is using cp 1250 for polish locale, and my system is using something else)... Pretty annoying when one is trying to copy/paste some bigger chunks of text. Would be great to see this fixed. Currently using Wine cvs 20030731-1.

Winesetup. It looks like as if the drive will be changed in a wrong way. Look at
the entry that is done in the config file:
[Drive]
"V" = ""
"Path" = "${HOME}"
"Type" = "network"
"Device" = ""
"Filesystem" = "win95"
Drieve is missing, instead a new entry will be created. Label is missing too
("Label" = "").This is the first fault.
[Drive X]
"Type" = "hd"
"Path" = "/tmp"
"Label" = "Tmp Drive"
"FS" = "win95"
This is the second fault, because I changed the drive to "V". So the second
change wasn't performed.
Now it becomes more confusing. I restarted winesetup. I changed drive "X" to
"W". I added a drive "K" (some network stuff) I made a fault there and edited
drive "K" (from floppy to network). And save the config settings.
Now I have no drive "X" nor "W" and I have "K" twice. The first version with the
floppy and the second edited version with [Drive] and "K"="".
We have different entries for "FS" and "Filesystem". Can we have only
"Filesystem" because that makes it clearer?
With the ADD - EDIT dialog, I have no possibility to set up a LABEL. I have to
do it afterwards in the config file. Can that be changed?
Best regards
UK

program doesn't notice it but delets the Drive. Please also proof it in
conjunction with new entered drive letters.

The error log shows message "err:x11drv:X11DRV_CreateBitmap Trying to make
bitmap with planes=1, bpp=16" which is caused by the screen depth not
matching with the bpp given by the application.
In another bug report 1715 http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1715
I also saw the same message. I then found a patch to dlls/comctl32/toolbar.c
that broke the virual outlook of the buttons in Trace32 program. I was able
to work around the corrupted button by reverting the change between revisions
1.128 and 1.129.
