From what digging I have done, they seem to be ATI2 textures. They are meant to be a distortion effect. Example here: https://imgur.com/a/GFZKggX Seems like they don't handle transparency correctly. You can use the video included in the attached .zip file. Result: Mixcraft crashes. Backtrace and Mixcraft log file are included in the attached zip file.
