I completed a regression test, which yielded:

win32u: Remove surface recursive locking requirement.

Resizing the main CDmage window is sufficient to generate artifacts that are
not repainted in the "Image tree" pane in the upper left part of the main
window, as shown in the reporter's attached screenshot.
