BTW: There is also a prebuilt Wineskin engine which works for me.
Hm. Thanks. This goes in the right direction. If you start a fullscreen application with the user engine above (I have tested "Age of Wonders 2") then it flickers as usual. But if I press Command-Tab then the application switch in a pseudo fullscreen mode. In this mode I can see the Mac OS menu bar at the top of the screen an I can roll out the Mac OS icon bar at the bottom of the screen. But the rest of the screen is filled by the game itself. You can play as normal and nothing flickers. Very interesting....
