For your questions:
Does this fail only if you force render offload and when X is running on the
NVIDIA driver? 
Are you using an xorg.conf configured for PRIME?
Are you using GDM on your system?

I don't know. I don't have any particular configuration. It's just Ubuntu
22.04.
