--- Comment #21 from gaz man mail2gaz@yahoo.com.au 2008-07-08 21:07:48 --- Furthermore unlike people on this site that need to get wine working so they can play games. People need this application for work purposes. Of course someone could pay a developer to have this working on Ubuntu but then why use WINE in the first place? Some nut on the forum told me not to use wine doors as it is not supported by WINEHQ and then gave me terminal commands to delete it which instead deleted all my data in Ubuntu! Took me 3 days to copy it all back across from a backup. Add to the fact that wine doors got me further with this app than WINE and I think I have an excuse for not being in the best of moods.
My point is I would simply like to find out a realistic time frame to get this going. After discovering posts in a forum from 2 years ago by someone that was supposedly working with "the guys" at WineHQ to get it going then hearing nothing since except posts asking whats happening, leaves me wondering if I and others are just wasting our time with this. No offence to the coders working on it. But please understand I don't know how WINE works but if my fears are correct we are trying to build a car from the ground up and so far we have a windscreen wiper and a handbrake. I really hope I am wrong and instead we have all components except the wind screen wiper and hand brake :)
