disable the change made by 4f594777a28c935d2eac23169012144fba974e40

I can't think of any specific cause right now, so reading through logs would be
like searching for a needle in a haystack, especially without knowing which
draw(s) fail. But you can try to essentially revert the patch with the attached
diff and see if the issue goes away.
