--- Comment #19 from Huw Davies huw.davies@physics.ox.ac.uk --- The dialogs in this app want the "Microsoft Sans Serif" truetype font (not to be confused with the "MS Sans Serif" bitmap font that Wine already includes). Since that font is generally not available on linux Wine will pick a replacement and that replacement may or may not have metrics that are close enough.
Microsoft Sans Serif is included with macOS which likely explains Gijs' results.
