I've tried 4.8-rc8 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ and older ones, I can confirm it doesn't change anything :(
Have you tried deleting/renaming .wine and reinstalling the game? It feels really odd if it works for some and not for you.
Yes I know it's strange, but I reinstalled the game using another user account, and nothing changed. I'm out of ideas for now :/ Maybe I'll try Ubuntu 16.10 one day and see if problem is solved :(
