Do you have the usual "fallback to Randr 1.0" log message? Seems to be related to this bug as a whole. I certainly get it while being on the proprietary driver. Someone earlier mentioned that Randr 1.0 reverts to polling actual hardware, hence the high xorg CPU usage.
Where would that message be? In the console output when running Wine? In Xorg.0.log?
I've got a DP and a DVI monitor attached on this system. So thats certainly >possible.
I personally have a DVI-D as a primary output and HDMI going to my secondary >monitor.
Now we're getting somewhere. Mine are both DisplayPort. They also have the same capabilities. This very well may be limited to multimonitor setups using one (or at least one) DVI.
