--- Comment #6 from cnbiz850@sohu.com 2009-10-09 11:02:59 --- Did some more experiments -- actually tried to use the program on my new machine -- and found more troubles.
Guess it has more to do with my new system as the problems seen here do not really happen on the old one. The new one is Dell Studio 1450 and I am running Ubuntu 9.04 64bits.
As I keep testing the program, somehow I started to get EAccessViolation popups from the program and of course a dead program. Basically the output at the shell has this: fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x32e890,0x00000000), stub!
I searched on the web and it seems having to do with OpenGL. At this moment I don't have visual effect turned on for my desktop. For a test, I started basic visual effect for the desktop, then the program runs without the EAccessViolation error and also no EnumDisplayDevicesW error from shell output. But what happens is that the program only goes to a quarter screen size and can not be resized - no larger no smaller. I then turned off the visual effect and ran the program. It not also goes to a quarter screen but can be resized with dragging the border of the window. But as soon as I release the mouse from dragging, I got a lot of error message and debug messages at the shell.
The log file is here attached
