The modern skin needs some enlarging for the media library to show up, In the bento skin it showed up correctly right away for me. (if not for you enlarge the window)
If you change skin colour, the colours will show but not directly in the left side of the media library window. After a "refreshing" (enlarge the window) it shows up correctly.
