I wouldnt be so sure it's the cause of the crash. I could be wrong. But this is something you should try 1st
err:winediag:FILE_CreateFile Too many open files, ulimit -n probably needs to be increased
There are some bugs and just recently some got solved by setting higher ulimit, see bug 42793.
