please mail me the offending .hlp file so that I can have a look at it (BTW did you check that display the .hlp file in native winhlp32.exe did show correct results ?)

This is a setup-program which copy the compressed hlp-file to a folder you will have to choose. I tried with other hlp-files, but they also failed.
FYI, the tables are still badly rendered in winhlp, so don't hold your breath on this one. however, the uncompress3 overflow errors have to be fixed
I was searching for something in the 'Win32-API doc' and so I did discover this bug. Now I use a converted version which is in the CHM-format with 'kchmviewer'.
