@Rafal,

I used the download from that website on a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 Beta
and Wine 1.4.  That is the same download, and I still get the same problems and
error messages as you received.  Also, once it blanks the screen, you can just
hit ESC to quit and close the program, and that part works. But it also gives
one final error message when doing so:

err:wgl:internal_SetPixelFormat Invalid operation on root_window
