No, I'm not. The modified application should show whether you have a working japanese locale.
You could have said that earlier. I am pretty sure it is working but it is always good to test ;-)
You explicitly look for a Japanese font, and even use wide character functions.
Unicode APIs are not needed, I used them for testing.
That's not what a legacy application would look like, and these should work as well.
You haven't answered the question.
There's fortunately mingw for Linux so it was not so hard to try. It works for me, shows nice large letters, including the Japanese ones.
