Dose the line "Executing wine ninewinecfg -e" and that failing with an error mean nothing to your project, its literally a wine command? Please dont give me the run around, if something is implemented with your project and it doesnt work then tell me the appropriate place to report to so I'm not chasing everywhere.
It's not implemented within our project. In all likelihood the bug is in Nine.
Proton in general makes modifications to Wine and its runtime environment that can cause bugs to appear. It also is a separate project, with its own support channels; please use them instead of reporting bugs here.
You did nothing to clarify whos project is responsible? Gallium Nine? Winetricks? Its a wine command within winetricks, so please clarify.
At this point the prudent thing to do is probably to report the bug to Nine. That said, it will also be prudent to test "ninewinecfg -e" in a clean wine prefix and with upstream wine, i.e. don't get proton involved.
