--- Comment #159 from Roman m01brv@mail.ru 2010-06-10 05:55:11 --- I checked it now more carefully, the patch from here indeed works pretty well. No crashes during 10 days since my last post. With unpatched wine (1.2-rc1, 1.1.40, and 1.1.30) and new Ubuntu these crashes happen approximately one time during each evening (after a few tens of saves in average, but very randomly, sometimes after first few saves). This frequency does not seem to depend on the wine version, but I noted that in wine-1.2-rc1 no usual crash dialog emerge: the game just silently terminates during the saving and no message is reported. Maybe this absence of crash dialogs is due to some other bug or some configuration settings, I am not sure.
Anyway, most of the time during more than a year I run programs using the patched wine, and I have note neither a warcraft save crash no any suspicious behaviour in other apps (at least which would not match other known bugs). Saved games are always loaded normally. This bug is already almost 2.5 years old, and last 1.5 years we have the well-working patch here. It will be quite regretful if this bug migrates in the final wine-1.2! A year ago I even found another app affected by this bug (see my post #142), then why not to fix it?
