Could you provide some more information?
What distribution are you using? What desktop environment?
Are you booting directly into Linux or are you running this inside a virtual machine? Virtual machines can sometimes have poor mouse integration.
Is the mouse movement smooth/consistent, where the player always moves the same distance with the same mouse movement, or does the movement tend to jump around?
Does adjusting the mouse speed in the settings menu make any difference?
Finally, does this problem happen with any other games, or is it specific to Audiosurf?
Thanks. :)
I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit, not in a virtual machine. I use Unity mostly, but also use GNOME sometimes, since Unity can make fullscreen apps puke or misbehave.
The mouse moves too fast sideways - the slightest nudge makes the player move sideways too fast. This makes it too easy to make mistakes in the game, especially when dodging the greys with the "Mono" character. In Windows 7, the player moves much slower (but not too slow) and "smoothly", not in a sudden jolt. It's best to test this game in Wine and real Windows - if possible, then you will notice the difference.
Adjusting the mouse speed in the settings does make a difference - but it just makes the character move either too fast or too slowly.
I've only discovered this problem in Audiosurf so far.
Hope that helps? :)
