--- Comment #4 from Neil Skrypuch ns03ja@brocku.ca 2008-04-09 04:10:38 --- Ah, well... things have changed at least.
fr-038 seems to work as well as it does on Nvidia cards now in both GLSL and ARB, except for the fact that the letterboxing is white instead of black (a relatively minor problem, but odd nonetheless).
3DMark 2003 caused a hard system crash with GLSL (couldn't ssh in, couldn't reboot with magic SysRq keys) while loading the first test. I didn't try ARB for fear of another hard crash. This is almost certainly a driver bug.
With both GLSL and ARB, most tests in 3DMark 2001 display almost entirely black, except for faint greyscale geometry silhouettes, but only for a few things. Using GLSL, the Pixel Shader and Advanced Pixel Shader tests appear to work just as well as they do on Nvidia hardware. With ARB, many things simply are not rendered in the Pixel Shader and Advanced Pixel Shader tests.
This is with the same Radeon X1400 as above, but using fglrx 8.471.3 (ie, Catalyst 8.03).
