The issue is already known as bug 8332.
I understand the staged patchset from that bug is not sufficient for Battlefield 4, but it's nonetheless the same issue.
This bug is in fact a proposal for an alternate workaround.
I'll set this bug to 'enhancement' and place a note in bug 8332.
