Make the "ViewRanger Map Chooser" window smaller than the screen and place the
window towards the bottom right of the screen.

Place the mouse cursor on the main canvas, click and hold left button.
Move mouse and watch a dotted rectangle change shape. One corner of this
rectangle will be about as far left and below the cursor as the window is below
the TL of the screen.

If things were working properly this corner of the rectangle would be attached
to the cursor.
