I've tried the font copy, no result (no difference that is).
I've also tried (I know, but it was worth a try and helped in one other game)
installing directx, again, no change.

Still searching for hope somewhere, but I fear we are at the mercy of someone
who knows what they are doing to see and try to whack at this bug.

The trial's gui is messed up, and the retail version (I bought it for the kid
on their windows box) doesn't start at all in wine.
